Other than Coinbase...where can I purchase other crytocurrencies? What would you recommend? I have a small amount of Bitcoin and Litecoin now.

Bitfinex, maybe this is the best exchange that you can use right now, they are having some issues with Tether right now but it does not mean anything, they are the best exchange.

Or maybe poloniex that allows you to buy/sell and withdraw without providing any ID verification.

But do not use bittrex, they are going to steal your funds and block your account.

Or if you are in a hurry, just use shapeshift, they are not asking you for registration and you can exchange as many coins as you want (since they allow the exchange between more than 50 altcoins)

my suggestion just take from Top 10 Altcoins at market will definitely be a good coins to invest because they are holding good values. This is my simple investment strategy to get profit

Besides all the usual places like coinbase/local bitcoins you can buy on many forums like this one and Reddit for example.  Just use all the necessary precautions, there are a lot of scammers around.

Poloniex is one of the best exchange and you can buy all crypto currency here.The transaction fee in the poloniex trading is very very less compared to most of the other exchanges.Bittrex is also a good exchange which is having easy platform so everyone can buy in this exchange.But choose what coin you are going to buy then research that coins are available on that exchange.

I suggest to bittrex poloniex and gdax that mostly mention here in forum where you can buy cryptocurrency or trade as well
Like tohe above said if you are looking for altcoin better to use coinmarketcap every coin has high volume where you can see what market are the best option to choose where many people buying altcoin..

You can use bittrex, poloniex, liqui or binance if you want to buy alt coins with your bitcoins or etherium. Make sure that you have a verified account at bittrex else you cant withdraw the money.

I would suggest you to buy Bitcoins on Bitstamp and than you send BTCs to Binance (https://coincodex.com/exchange/binance/) to exchange for altcoins.

For heaven's sake. Use the bloody google site to search if this question have been answered already are not before asking. Damn, can't even get to remember when was the last time i only saw very few useless topics started in this forum. You should really try to be more careful next time man. People here frown upon others who likes to be spoon fed,.

I used to buy through local exchangers, but then I realized that it was very overpriced there. Then I started trading on Bitrex. This is a very convenient exchange, but you will need to pass verification

It can not be denied that most people use Ether Delta for tradding. But it would be nice if we have guidelines and do not focus on one exchanger.

For me, I will compare prices before buying and certainly look for the cheapest.

I suggest you to the bittrex Exchange because there is available many coins are reliable and you can do tranding there with comfortable because there security his very tight also not easy in give way but if you want to safer can use 2fa

Other than Coinbase you can purchase cryptocurrencies from many other sites like Yobit, Binance, Bittrex, Bithumb, Polonix and more. If only want to trade ERC20 tokens than Etherdelta is the best exchange site for it. Among all the site I've mentioned above Bithumb, Bittrex and Polonix are best to trade at.

If you plan to buy just a small amount of coins and you don't have KYC passed verification in main exchanges, look for a local companies who are buying/selling with 2-3% commission. In every EU country there are at few of those and it's very convenient and fast than kraken and so on for small transactions.

I think exchanger is the best place to buy Bitcoin or Altcoin.
We can buy altcoin in various markets like Bittrex, Cryptopia, Hitbtc.
some people buy bitcoin from coinbase. coinbase is secure wallet. thanks.

I am using Kraken to change from fiat to crypto and than move it to Bitfinex for trading.

Binance. One of largest volume exchange with a lot of altcoin support. Currently at #5 with over a million dollar daily volume. #1, #2, #3 is not an altcoin-friendly exchange. They only list several major altcoins and their major volume are from USD pair. Binance is fast, supports a lot of altcoins, haven't heard of any issue about them. But all those reasons are mediocre, what I like the most about Binance is that they usually support Bitcoin forks and one of the first exchange that lists those forked coins.

My second preferences would be Bittrex. Has been there for a years without any problem, no negative issue, no hacking, nothing. It's just that they don't usually support Bitcoin forks.
