This is Crazy!!!! How much higher can it go? Will it gain 1,000 a day for the rest of the year?

I hope so, but definitely it is impossible when you invest with a limited amount. When you are a millionaire and can invest more, it is possible to earn a greater profit everyday but not that big i guess.

I've just opened up two different trading exchanges and it looks like a simple case of supply not meeting demand.

Up goes the price... simple economics.

It's actually totally unexpected that it's gone up so much this year but whats really surprising is that it's kept it's value too and not corrected like many people over in the economics sub forum are saying it would. I think this has just proven that $50,000 isn't far off and we could be seeing it in a few years.

As long as there is a demand for it, then the price goes up. If it is globalized and major companies start to utilize it.....who knows what can happen

absolutely incredible. bitcoin prices have risen very high in just a few months. the question: will this price continue to rise or at the end of the year will decrease?

There is no stopping this coin from reaching 100,000 dollars in one year.  I believe at this rate, we will see 1 million dollars a coin by 2020!  Can you imagine the person who started mining this in 2009 and has a stash of 10 thousand bitcoins!  He would be worth 10 billion dollars!!!  Man If i can only grab a time machine and go back to 2009.

About this rally, I'm both excited and nervous at the same time! Excited about the news of bitcoin going mainstream, about all the attention its been getting... those that never really gave bitcoin a second look are now buying bitcoin and more shops in my location are beginning to accept bitcoin! what keeps me high-strung is the memory of 2013's crash - which I hope will never happen again.

You should check how large the gap in price is even among major exchanges right now. The Korean ones are usually ahead in all these bull runs, but never seen such a large difference before.

If you can afford why not? You can be sure to earn a thousand  or more dollars to each BTC. A couple of weeks ago I told my dad to buy some BTC at 10K. Had he listened  to me he would have had 30 % or more dollars added by the end of this year.  

I am thinking that the massive adaptation due to the observation of aggressive increase in price is one factor that continuously affects the bitcoin market.
I think more people wanted to be within the bitcoin rocket that contributes the great demand.
As long as people are not afraid of investing even starting at a low amount investment, the price will continue to pump higher.

It will go up to 20000 USD. That is my best bet and because of the increase in cryptocurrency demand, it will be successful.

Right! Bitcoin going to be listed next year is the catalyst for this price. We may see this continuing as people expects that once listed  the price of Bitcoin will hit $20,000. To be honest i'm happy that price is rising but i am scared that it is rising too fast. It is possible that a major correction will happen.

Bitcoin year of raging!

This year is a crazy year of bitcoin. Two years ago, the new bitcoin was over $300/1BTC, now it's up nearly 50 times ...

So nice to wake up to this today.  And I instantly took some out as profit to make it tangible.  I never dreamed I'd be on the boat, as I sat and watched the tech/dot com boats all sail without me in the 90's.

Weird that there are almost none of any significant corrections!

Almost all people didn't know what is the future of bitcoin, if they continue to increase or decrease in this coming 2018. But for my own opinion i think it's posible to decrease his value but much more higher to increase than to decrease.

Something gonna paste a history before 2017 ends. This is a huge milestone for bitcoin, from hitting rock bottom from the past then to a $14,000 value. It seems that it will go higher than it's value since 2017 is near to end. I'm amaze of the outcome since the first day I knew about bitcoin. This is now the future of our hardwork

Great all time high for bitcoin. And right now many people yet are still buying it at its current price. Bitcoin will take over. This is crazy! 20k usd probably is the next stop.

What I love (one of the things)... is how the market is so fluid, it truly never sleeps.   While you can technically trade stocks 'after hours,' it's nothing like the true market hours of the Nasdaq, NYSE, etc...  the btc market is really alive all the time.

The first thing I always do every time I logged in to my computer is to check BTC price. And when I did today, I was a bit stunned for quite some time! I was like "How the hell did it jump from 11k+ to almost 15k in just a day?" This only goes to show that BTC is becoming popular and that supply can't cope with demand as many people are getting involved in bitcoin.

this is a new milestone, i think the trend of bitcoin is unstoppable, everything is possible in terms of price hike, as the year ends, the trend is climbing as if it has no downfall, well, let's hope so, in the coming 2018, investing in bitcoin will surely dominate the mainstream. more investors to come.

Likely that we see $15,000 in the next days. Definitely before new years eve. Bitcoins momentum doesnt break. This sharp rise in price every other day scares me though. I think its too fast. This may hurt many small investors soon when big players start to cash out. Hopefully it wont hurt the whole cryptospace.

Yes crazy. This not what everyone has expected. Bitcoin is still growing so fast. I am not updated to the latest price of bitcoin but as of what I have heard in my friends talking about bitcoin it already hits 650,000 pesos as of the previous hours. I was so surprised. Yesterday around 7AM in the forum time, bitcoin price just in 575,000 pesos but now its on 650,000 pesos.

What a blessing, right timing for the christmas but I am quite sad because I converted some of my bitcoins early in the month of November but I just look on the other side that I can easily get or earn back my losses. By the continues increase I am afraid how much it can drop.

Bitcoin prices are indeed very high now. We have seen evidence that there has been a steady increase, Bitcoin prices could rise much higher by the end of the year. Christmas festivities can be a much faster momentum of Bitcoin's revival. We are all optimistic that there will be a positive increase and also a new price record.

Hope it goes down again! I want to buy some, if it goes to 12k asap I will use and buy in coinbase!

My exchange is small and there are not many selling decent volume. Bids are stacked up stopping any large corrections. I’ve not seen it like this before. Yesterday was the first time I’ve ever sold and bought back at a higher price , because it just kept on surging up. Very itchy trigger finger.

Corrections are not happening because no one is ready to sell their coins, as everyone is waiting for the $100,000 per coin mark. Once we reach $20K or $25K, we may see dumping by large holders. But until then, it will be smooth sailing for Bitcoin. Even at $15K per coin, there is no major resistance. My guess is that 20K may be achieved during the next few weeks.

This is not crazy. It because of fork upcoming, now demand increasing, they buying and hold until fork done.
They looking for free new coins distribution from fork.

Which fork are you talking about? Bitcoin Unlimited or Super Bitcoin? The demand is not very high for these forked coins. The real trigger was the decision by CBOE to pre-pone the Bitcoin futures listing to December 10th (just 3 days from now). CME is also launching the futures on December 18. But I will tell you one thing. Bitcoin has risen so much during the last few days, that the majority of the traders will be trying to short it in CBOE/CME.

The rapid rise of the bitcoins price is frightening. Because it's fast. When it comes to price increases, prices can be downgraded, especially when the price is unobtrusive. so we expect the big collapse of the price of bitcoins. So be careful because any time from now on may price fall.

I think so too. Bitcoin needs a good correction to take new peaks in the next year. But now no one knows to what height the price will reach.

There's a term in the penny stock/pink sheet world called "pump and dump" that describes how some venture capitalist will pump up a stock by buying in high-volume to encourage others to buy at an inflated price and then they dump all of their stock The price then goes to s*** very, if not quickly lightning fast. There are some whales that are swimming into the Bitcoin pond as there will now be two companies offering Bitcoin Futures very soon. I think this rapidly increasing price maybe the work of the whales pumping up the price just so they can short sell Bitcoin as soon as possible. Keep in mind that the total value of all Bitcoins in existence is a fraction of what the stock market has. It would not be very difficult for any major investor to pump and dump Bitcoin. I personally am not going to buy anymore Bitcoin for at least another month or two. Is anyone else here skeptical of the effect of Bitcoin Futures Trading will have on the community?

Time and time again, bitcoin makes unexpected increases into reality. It goes to show how cryptocurrency growing this year what more on the next year. Just look back at few months ago, this much of a price change would had been very huge news. But now 1000 price changes are like $100 changes, these are happening overnight. Its impossible now to say what will be price tomorrow.

No doubt Bitcoin is the most powerful cryptocurrency nowadays. It was only last week when Bitcoin's price reached $10,000 and now hits $14,000. It was really surprising that in a very short time, the price of Bitcoin has risen promptly. But no one knows if it will continue to rise for the year 2018 or will it strongly decrease, let us see what's gonna happen. Nevertheless, I still believe with its capability and hoping for the best to come.

Most people are just buying the fear of missing out right now. The increase does not make any sense, No one with a sane mind would Invest right now maybe at 10K could be the possibility.

This is a certainty, I believe that bitcoin has so much potential for growth, mainly because of how huge its designed market is, right now it has only covered about 1% of the whole population and we are at $11k, imagine if even 25% of all people will use bitcoin, then the price will increase exponentially. If you have invested bitcoin and thinking of pulling out your profit, I would suggest to wait and hold.

after bitcoin reaching $14k, it looks like the price is down and now stay at $13,6xx and we only wait for another increase in the price. but some of the altcoins is trying to break the higher price so we have another chance to make the profit. I really surprise that although bitcoin price increases, many altcoins get an increase too so we can make a double profit from this. we still have time to see the price breaks $15k wall so the price will jump to the next higher price.

It has returned to the trend of the past as bitcoin prices increased and altcoin also increased. We invest in altcoin will earn double profit in this time. $14k overed and now $20k, $15k is too close.

There is nothing fishy going on here.

CME futures is going live soon in the US, which means that US regulators have given bitcoin approval. Also, BTC has been covered more and more by news networks.
So we are picking up a lot of new investors who are more confident that US regulations will not crash the price of Bitcoin (even though we have already seen many times that a country banning BTC exchanges doesn't even matter).

The price is well-founded, although we will see what happens when whales start pumping the market, then placing shorts and dumping, etc.

$1k a day is ridiculous and would not happen. What happened today was just absolute crazy and will definitely not be a daily event. Otherwise, the price should end up at around $40k-50k by the end of the year, which is totally unlikely.

Though now that the price is $14k it really shows how much bitcoin has gone through this year, basically 10x investors money. From a perspective of an investor alone i'd probably be urged to buy BTC due to my fear of missing out, pumping the price up in the process.

Its an ATH price of bitcoins and it will keep on going higher and higher till the end of the year so the best thing would be to hold your bitocoins as now we may even see price of $20k at the end of the year.

Hopefully before it corrects, I cash some out and invest in ETH, which is suffering a little due to Bitcoin's rally because of the new approvals by the US government.
ETH is heading up a lot this year, and I am expecting a large increase (500+) when Bitcoin corrects and gives some of the money back to altcoins.

The price should maintain until December 10th at least, and probably longer than that.

Yes this is crazy it looks like Bitcoin is going to gain at least 1000 dollar value daily. Right now bitcoin is $15,437. This is quite a huge amount, it feels like I did wrong selling some of my bitcoin at $10,000. Anyway I am so much happy to see bitcoin price crosses $15K. Even now people will say that it's a bubble? Op, from what the current increment in the market value of Bitcoin iits value will continue to increase to maybe above  $20,000 before end of December this year. AAlthough I will agree with you that Bitcoin can continually be gaining or increase in value up to $1000 in a day but such can happen on some occasion as it happened today.

Christmas is increasing BTC price. People are buying because they have more money this month.

After lots of struggles in it's early trip , and having an increase average that didn't get over 1$ per day for a very long time , bitcoin is now achieving what was presumed to be impossible ! More than 3K of growth under 48 hours is something that hasn't been seen or heard of through history and even tho i don't think that it'll be able to keep this momentum , i'm sure it's gonna break new records every day along this week .

Don't forget about the correction , sooner or later it will happened.

One thing that i know , bitcoin price could keep growing or get a sudden drop for some reasons and not easy to recover it later. It cost a lot of time and a prevention always better than have to wait until everything turn full of regret

Bitcoin value now are $14,000 from $19,000, it was the largest fall down of bitcoin in the history. I guess because of this declining of price more people are decreasing their faith in bitcoin. It seems to me that bitcoin showed us the prospects of their growth and this decline is only run in order to make the next giant leap. Now you need to keep calm and not sell their coins.
