According to reports from cryptostreet.co The ruling in the case of the Sal Mansy, the man from Detroit who was arrested for illegally trading bitcoins is released. The Crimes Network of the US Treasury Dep. (FinCen) reported that the offender failed to register his business activities with the authority.

Sal Mansy was sentenced this week to one year in prison and the ruling was revealed by the lawyer Halsey B. Frank of Main District. After the time is served Mansy and his company will undergo three years of probation.

The title of that article promotes confusion. I have read the article about Sal Mansy who traded 6 bitcoins (if I remember it correctly). However, he wasn't imprisoned because he traded bitcoin nor because bitcoin is illegal. In fact, he was imprisoned because he failed to register his business activities with the authorities about money-service. But looking at the title of this article, it simply tells a one-sided story that the man is imprisoned because of trading.
