I want to create a secure Electrum cold storage from an existing seed. I want to create the wallet on an offline computer, but it seems like I need an internet connection to finish the process. It says something along the lines of "to finish creating the wallet, you need an internet connection. Get online or move the wallet-file from an online computer to this computer". I'm following the guideline found on Electrums webpage for creating a cold storage. But it doesn't cover how to go about this issue. Anybody know what to do to create a truly secure cold storage without having to type in my seed on an online computer? Where did you download Electrum, did you verify the download with the signature file? Where did you download Electrum, did you verify the download with the signature file? I'm pretty new with cryptocurrensies. But it makes sense to me that it needs online access. To resolve the seed, i'm guessing it needs access to the blockchain to create the wallet. How else would it translate the seed into a wallet? Derivation of keys and addresses from the seed is deterministic and it does not require any extra data. It is definitely possible to create an Electrum wallet offline, as well as to restore a wallet from an existing seed. I did that several times. No, Electrum is an offline wallet with online functionalities, so it woulnd't ask for connection when creating a wallet. Can you give us the source where you downloaded your electrum?
