Apart from Bitcoins which has proven to be consistent in price appreciation, which of these two coins, ETH and LTC you think is most valuable.

ethereum as of now have good movement in the market price smoothly little price increase but i think comes will be profitable in long term investment,  ltc are have same movement of ETH on my observation.

ETH and LTC both are valuable now a days ETH price is growing and LTC also growing but in this online industry now ETH is a more valuable than LTC but i hope LTC must growing in the next your of 2018 . Everybody know that now Eth price is high than LTC.

BOTH of them are now worthless. Bitcoin is sweeping all altcoins and heading to 50.000usd.
I love this game.

I also wonder why Bitcoins is moving such astronomically price yet people still looking for other coins to invest in . Is it risk averse nature of traders or diversification.

We have to look at what actually they offer;

Eth = smart contract platform where most of the new tokens are created and many are being developed everyday which might keep high demand for eth among ico investors in future too.

Ltc = offers nothing more than what bitcoin is providing and community around ltc is smaller than that of bitcoin, only small number of merchants accept it and only few dev is behind all updates.

So comparitibly ethereum can have brighter future than litecoin.

Eventually both of them are valuable nowadays the only difference is ETH is more higher price value than LTC,but this bought are still keep on rising it depends on what demand of the investors and community in the exchanges.

Definitely ETH in my opinion - Yes currently Ethereum has some major scalability issues, however when Raiden and Plasma come in, the network will be significantly improved, and hence I expect the market cap to continue on its steady increase! Definitely prefer ETH as an investment than LTC

Ethereum = smart contracts, better than bitcoin, not payment system but has Dapps, which helps developer to implement and build distributed applications.

As for which coin is valuable, no doubt that ETH beats LTC bigtime. As per coinmarketcap:

Although marketcap is not significant but you can see that ETH is light years in terms of investors money. So in conclusion, ETH is more valuable, more investors have renewed their interest on this coin at the end of November so I guess it can go up to $500, which is a big accomplishment already. I don't think LTC can reach its peak next year, around $150-$200 will be its top price, but its gonna be hard before it can get to that price.

Both of them are really good but nowadays they are in same situation. Their prices getting lower day by day against bitcoin.
This will be a good time to buy litecoin and ethereum.

both of this altcoins are stable and already proven their name but if you are going to look at their price it's gonna be Ethereum.

Just several minutes ago I have bought Ethereum for USDT at price 401 and transfered btc (50% of btc bank) to usdt so that to fix my profit partially. So I think it is very good time for buying btc

For me, both these crypto-currencies are of great value. Personally, I'm currently buying and ETH and LTC.

Both are very stable coins.. as others have mentioned.

Litecoin is growing faster than ethereum... by looking at the last week LTC is up 17.5% whereas ETH is only up 0.43% so far... (granted it has had big peaks though!)

I prefer Ether than LTC because I think the use of the Ether platform for the ICO transactions makes it more reliable. yet both are safe currencies.

They are both valuable. Ethereum is more popular by smart contract using and has a promotion person Vitalik Buterin. Litecoin has opportunity to reach top5 coin list.

base on popularity i would choose ethereum. ltc is good coin too. both are good for long term investment. and i think which one i more valuable i would choose ethereum too. ltc is good and still developing but still i trust eth will grow

Ethereum, it caused by the cryptokitties can become a good example how ethereum will be handling the dapps in the future as the sharding blockchain and another improvement will be implemented.
Litecoin hasn't any actual use rather than become a cryptocurrency to trade.

there is no doubt that the ethereum is better and more interesting. but ethereum tends to be stable and if it rises not much (slowly).
do not forget litecoin, because litecoin is the first altc in crypto and still very much in demand, I think next year litecoin can reach $ 200.

As of now ethereum strikes at the crypto market cap who was leading in price value in all altcoin, but all of this altcoins are have potential to grown. I must go in ethereum as of now it is more profitable compared to litecoin it is also second placer of bitcoin. In most of previous opinions, people seems too harsh on LTC and neglecting totally its potential value.

IMHO Litecoin has some very well specified future and purpose. It is the oldest Altcoin - highly compatible with BTC. As a result I believe its future is tightly tied with BTC itself, as BTC lost its usage as a payment method and become more static "store of value". That is exactly were I see LTC in the future.

LTC benefits:

- It is faster and cheaper (perfect for payment scenario)
- It is stable and well known Altcoin (not prone to speculation of newly created coins)
- It has well defined leadership and vision of Charlie Lee
- It has great community and even greater developers!
- It showed stable growth over the last months and even years
- It is first to implement the newest protocol updates (like segwit and lightning network) it is on forefront of innovation in crypto

The biggest change for LTC will be implementation of Lightning Network on BTC. Then we shall have two interconnected highways (slower for big values - BTC and faster for smaller values - LTC).

Of course ETH is great as well. However, its usage is totally different -> Daaps and Fintech industry applications.

So don't cross Litecoin completely :)

Both altcoins are have a potential to have profitable, in my own ethereum now with high price value it is good for long term and short term investment. Remember that ethereum was second placer of bitcoin. And litecoin now was not good but many speculated about this maybe it is develop soon because it is the first altcoin.

between eth and ltc , eth is more valuable at the moment and ethereum deserves where it is now because of their features like erc20 which is very useful in ico's alot of ico's use erc20 to create their coin and ltc is just a normal coin for me but its not bad and its impossible for ltc to reach the price of ethereum now.

Eth more valuable than LTC, Eth have used by many tokens, ico project. Eth is building good platform for ico, pos, smartcontract so Ltc is not worth as Eth.

I will choose ethereum because it was the most trusted and most commonly used platform by most of the ICO to support their token for their projects and being already at second rank in all digital currencies for 2 years shows that it already build a huge foundation of trust among investors in talking of profit therefore ethereum is the most valuable and most promising among altcoins including LTC.

i mean they both have their moments and we all know that investing in them for a short term during their pumps is pretty awesome. there is a lot of profit to be made from these coins but apart from that small time window, the rest of the times they are performing so weakly and even at times they lead to massive losses when you invest in them because they are in big bubbles which can only mean bursting and dumping.

On paper, ETH seems to provide the most value unless you think it is overpriced (like me haha). If you saw Charlie Lee's announcement on Twitter, then you can see that Litecoin is preparing to be doing some serious marketing. Can you imagine what is has achieved without any of that marketing? And once this kicks off, I can just see what will happen for Litecoin in 2018, and perhaps even more the following years once the impact is felt from the marketing.

So for me, Litecoin is the slight winner here. It is not called silver to Bitcoin's gold for no reason!

Keep both Eth and LTC. In the world of crypto, you wont know when each coin will get pumped.. I would say that we should stay diversified and hold both coins as a hedge and we will see out portfolio grow.

Ether is valuable than LTC due to the nature of demand of Ether to fund ICO and tokens .

ICOs using Ethereum Platform, so Eth is more valuable. I believe at present Ethereum is a bit undervalued.

Both have shown to be a reliable and good altcoins. LTC has around together with bitcoin, while ETH even though being new has gained a lot of popularity. i suggest to take LTC as its price is more stable than ethereum's price thus the value of LTC right now is undervalued soon it will go up dramatically.

I think many people see things as one vs the other, but in terms of the value brought to the table, I think LTC is the most undervalued here. It's a further advanced bitcoin (at this point) with faster transactions more upside. Even if bitcoin is perfectly fine, I think LTC being its little brother makes sense for the ecosystem. And I think the ratio is too low for this reality right now. I like ETH but it's overhyped and overbought at this point. Just 2.5% moving from ETH and BTC to LTC doubles the price.

If you mean cap of total supply then yes. Litecoin got a supply cap like most cryptos. Ethereum doesn't have a cap now however it will switch to PoS a year from now (incentive to do it: ice age). PoS will most likely result in low low inflation and therefore cap.

I prefer ETH because this coin is more valuable and more developed, I believe it also because its popularity to this day is still good. while LTC's popularity began to fade away very clearly from LTC deals

in my opinion the valuable coin is ltc because ltc is easier to make transactions so i choose ltc as a valuable coin, and ltc also start to be much in interest by people so maybe in the future more and more ltc users to do transaction and gain trust from people.

I think ETH is still valuable compared to LTC, although ETH is now popular in cryptocurrency and as a quality platfrom but LTC also currently has a good price so do not underestimate LTC coins than ETH.

of course ethereum more and more valuable than litecoin. the price is rising up and now $500++ and I sure will $1000 in 2018. I have some litecoin on exchange and I don't know until when I hold it. I'm not sure litecoin will follow ethereum track.

Ethereum's technology is infinitely better to me.

Both coins are actually promising and valuable. Also both of them are doing good in the market and they show a great potential in the future. If I'm going to choose, I'll pick ethereum because as of this moment, it increase its value a lot higher compared to LTC. Also I have more ETH than LTC in my portfolio. Both are good​ choice but ethereum is better than litecoin. There are many sectors where ethereum is needed. The price of ethereum also good and higher than litecoin. It is promising and now a days it is being used on ico hugely. You should take ethereum mostly.

I'm not overstate one of those two coins, the both coins for me are valuable and are altcoins that has a potential price that can be leads to more higher price movements like nowadays.

I see them both having a good value proposition, and being useful in different ways. ETH's contract-based infrastructure strikes me as incredibly disruptive, and as a rule, I like well thought out disruptive endeavors.

I see as of now ETH is trying to achieve growth steadily compared to LTC , even in the future its movement will be positive only due to the product and technology its backed with. Even the software firms are also supporting the cause and making ETH a grand success. I see LTC will also rise slowly but not sharply and momentum can be seen in both the currencies . I myself would keep an eye on ETH for buying at various positions.

I Think ETH moves as a future investment in market cap. After Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, ETH is the third highest altcoin in the Current market. I think ETH is the most valuable compared to the LTC.

They are both very good coins..but different...LTC is just a coin like BTC...while Ethereum is a coin/token and its' a platform too..this means that other people can build products and services on its blockchain.

I love both, eth and ltc are great coins. you will earn profit by keeping in your wallet. There are many cois but eth are great with smart contract and high marketcap, LTC is the previous application of segwit and lightning network. LTC and ETH? Why not get both of them, they sure have a good track for their own markets. ETH is well known and does experience some problems now but still it's #2 for the whole crypto's.

Actually both are valuable, Ethereum and Litecoin is old coins and the most popular altcoin. But if compare Ethereum is more valuable than Litecoin. Just see on marketcap Ethereum have big volume than any altcoin. Litecoin ever below Bitcoin and mostly people are trade this coin but it has been taken over by ETH.

Lightcoin and ethereum are both profitable now. LTC make +100$  and ETH make + 70$ overnight

For me, ETH still the best option I can choose with trade/ invest to make profit. LTC is similar but most people will say " no " to invest/ trade with it, price action & news never give positive move. Some people still replace their hope about LTC and they must have a lot of patience to wait get profit. You can choose any coin you like but ETH still give me income. BOTH! ethereum maybe a strong alt coin in the market and its price have stability. though if i will be choosing an alt today i will be on liteecoin as it will (pumping now in the market and you will earn alot on this, though this is not a hold for a long time

ETH and LTC both are equally valuable in it's place since both the coins have different platforms and are unique in their own way. ETH has a really great technology where it's platform can be used to create tokens based on ETH technology. LTC on the other hand amazes us with it's amazing speed in confirming transactions due to it's implementation of the lightning network. So both the coins are equally valuable.

Ethereum is the future of crypto in my opinion, that and Neo. In my mind there is no doubt about it. In the future, not sure how far away, we will start seeing useless coins falling off. Bitcoin will most likely remain due to the fact it is the original and will always have a huge community.

Ethereum is doing well so far, its reached an ATH again of $535.
Litecoin is also doing well rising to $240 and seems that it will rise even more before 2018.
Both altcoins have great potential and i believe they will go much higher in the following.

When people ask Bitcoin or Etherium in different topic like investment, mining, or transaction , They will say buy Etherium against btc or mine etherium against btc  because it is faster and mine able with gpu. Smart contract can be build on Etherium. But in last what we see Bitcoin still wins. Even one stage we saw like eth going beatup btc but not happened.

Same formula can be use with Eth and Ltc battle. No matter how faster thee litecoin could be what ever technology it brings Eth will remain on top of other alt. Hope it helps you understand what i meant.

Both ETH and LTC looks valuable to me because they both have good performance than some other ICO's. But ETH seems to be having a bit of a problem on their transfering and transactions, i mean that's what i heard of according to those who have ETH. And LTC otherwise, haven't heard or receive news of them having a problem on their system so maybe for now i can say that LTC is a bit more valuable.

Are you talking about per coin valuation or market capitalization here? If you're talking per coin then it isn't really fair since Ethereum has almost double the amount of LTC that is currently in circulation. But i still think that right now, ETH is probably deservedly more valuable.

Even after the pump LTC is only in fifth place in market cap terms while Ethereum has solidified itself in the 2nd place.

I don't really like Ethereum that much, but i guess the market have voted with their dollars when ETH overtook LTC as the consensus number two guy in crypto. So yeah, ETH is more valuable at least for now. We'll see how big LTC's pump gets though.

Yeah,ethereum is the second valueable coin after bitcoin because the quantity of ethereum in the circulation is more but recent price bump of litecoin made a good competition between both these coins,ethereum raised from $10 to $500 in this year and litecoin raised from $2.5 to $250 so the growth rate of litecoin is more in this year.
But the next year the price of ethereum will rise in huge amount because many ICO are based on ethereum which may creates huge demand in 2018 and the price of ethereum maybe skyrockting like bitcoin did in 2017.But these are just predictions we need to wait to know what will happen.

why not just considering both valuable rather than only pick one of them because ETH and LTC can provide us good profit in the future because i always believe these altcoins have good potential to grow but indeed ETH one step ahead LTC because plenty tokens available based on ETH and volume support for ETH much higher than LTC

Both are valuable but I prefer the LTC. It is certain that the LTC is better than the BCH, but no one trusts it. Also Ethereum lost confidence after this last occasion.

Frankly I didn't believe in such a good grow of LTC. But now it makes x2.5 in just one week! According to this fact I suppose that it's not a good idea to invest in LTC now, but when it becomes a little bit cheaper I'd like to buy it more.

I agree with you, and I think most crypto users would as well. Although both Eth and LTC has been the on the upper tier of altcoins across the market. It is undeniable that Eth, in my opinion, is still the most reliable and fairly valued altcoin around. I mean, it can't match bitcoin by a mile, but still, for people who wants to invest long term, I think Eth would be a safe choice because of its substantial value and good price point. It's not that expensive to invest in, but it's not too cheap that profit would not be useful.

Wow, great points and good comparison as well. In my honest opinion, I would choose Eth because it's a platform that has been resilient despite all the dram concerning bitcoin, from the forks, to the surge it has been exhibiting today, it can be said that Eth has remained strong and has held it's footing unlike other altcoins that have either died out or have remained in a low price margin. Although there are more support from the crypto community going for LTC, I think the price point different would be a deal breaker for some to fully embrace LTC over Eth.

ETH and LTC has a lot of potentials,but for now my pick would be LTC it has fast transaction speed stable price in the market and the price is still affordable to invest in in just a year LTC proves it deserves a place in the top coins while ETH proves that it is over rated coin based on how developers react to its network problems.

ETH stands more chai of going upwards than the LTC because ETH's max plateau is still not reached. Apart from his LTC seems to be hiked too much with its recent market capitalism. What I think is ETH is getting its upwards movement done very slowly but steadily. And such coins are more liable to higher rates in the future than the LTC which had its upward surge too quickly. This will lead to panic sell very quickly because it creates fear of loosing when something is spiking so fast, they don't have time to think on it and leads to that worst selling stuff. So what ideal investment would be here is ETH according to me. If we have to put money at this very date then we should keep it into ETH. Thats my choice and the above one is the reason for its selection.

Litecoin is more stable, the etherium is more volatile. This can be seen on the graphs. Last week litecoin showed good growth, let's see what the correction will be. Maybe it will become more volatile with the arrival of new investors.

Yes for a long time ETH is good and surely it will cross a high value in 2018. Investing on ETH will not give us a big loss this is 100% right. According to me LTC will reach up to $300 and stable for some time. Our bad luck again it will come $100 anything can happen. But as for now, both coins are worth to invest.

Well, I guess right now they are, but you don't have to be so harsh brother. :) I think they still have some fight left in them. I mean looking at Eth, which has kept its footing and endured the negative effects of the recent bitcoin surge amongst altcoins, I can say that some altcoins could still be profitable to hold. Another one is the recent pump that is happening with LTC, where from 80 dollars, it has risen up to 235-ish dollars. That's a good enough improvement given the situation now. But, having to choose, I would go for Eth because it is still more reliable and has a greater value compared with LTC.

Litecoins is valuable and stable than Ethereum. For the past week, the slowness in the Ethereum network for the past week due to kittens trasactions make it less valuable now.

I will pick none of them if you ask me. There are other alts with huge potential , litecoin has nothing to offer and this is the reality. Better pick Monero and you'll be happy no matter what.

Ethereum have much value as it can glow much faster then litcoin due to its demand as all ICO using it to sold their ERC20 tokens. Ethereum is no.two in  market cap and ranking in overall tally of coins.

ETH or LTC is good but I don't see any reason the could keep up with BTC once the BTC correction fall upon us.

I love to hold the two because in terms of fluctuation, they move freely and the value seems going strong as well the circulation of two alt-coins are keep rising, These two type of coins are very interesting to follow, I owe to hold them both:)

Ethereum is just centimeter level better than litecoin. You know with all its network problems its most common platform for new services and tokens. Litecoin is better as currency anyways.

Both is HUGE overvalued.

Litecoin right now is at $300 and it's on a roll, surpassing coins like IOTA.
 
Ethereum is steadily hovering above $500 but predictions say that it will reach $1000 by the end of 2018.

Lets hope it goes that way.

At the moment, the etherium is more valuable. But I would not discount the lightcoin. The fact is that after a year and a half the situation with the price of these tokens can drastically change and lightcoin may prove more valuable than the etherium.

Well right now Eth is more valuable but had issues too recently like those transactions congestion. Look at the price of Litecoin right now it suddenly skyrocket  and unfortunately I sold mine at $60 so sad. :( If only no emergency happened I will surely have a times five profit right now. I really regret selling my Litecoins. I know that in 2018 Litecoin will surpass the price of Eth and I am sure about that feeling and speculation. At the moment I will give it to Eth as the winner.

I afraid big whales are playing right now on litecoin, they pumped its price then leave it. As for me, without a doubt I'll say ETH more valuable, because ETH is the reason of why many big ICOs and Altcoins now. Not just that, more and more new altcoins incoming everyday and it needs Ether system to support / store it. Ethereum is also a unique coin like no others. But regardless of what I said, litecoin is also an awesome coin ;)

For me too, ETH and LTC are valuable. But if I have to make a choice, i would choose LTC.

Today's LTC growth showed its potential. I think after a little correction it will take off again. I'll try to invest.
As for Ethereum, it is beyond any doubt this cryptocurrency will show itself. Those technologies that are developed on the ethereum basis  are the technologies of the future and world's many countries economies  will rely on them. Therefore, it is necessary to keep the ethereum in your investment portfolio.

ETH is unique in my opinion. LTC is another currency, so ETH in the long run.

Two weeks ago I would say that this is Ethereum. But now, holy cow, LTC showed its power and don't want to stop.

No doubt Bitcoin is the king of crypto. ETH is much more valuable then the LTC. ETH is the Queen of Crypto currency.

ethereum is very technical. Therefore, it is better. It's 50% of all transactions in the world. A lot of companies are behind ethereum. BUT damn why so relish the light grows. I don't understand. You'll see soon it will cost 1000. But I'd take a better eth

They are both valuable in their own ways, but Ethereum is out to do much more than Litecoin, which aims to simply be a currency with fast and cheap transactions (which ethereum will also have). Invest on both, but if you have to pick one, go for Ether.

For me LTC is more valuable, because in the first altcoin ever. Just like bitcoin, one day he will encounter a period where LTC will booming like BTC.

Ethereum of course, most major cryptocurrency exchanges would pair BTC with ETH.

I think many people see things as one vs the other, but in terms of the value brought to the table, I think LTC is the most undervalued here. It's a further advanced bitcoin at this point with faster transactions more upside. Even if bitcoin is perfectly fine, I think LTC being its little brother makes sense for the ecosystem. And I think the ratio is too low for this reality right now. I like ETH but it's over hyped and overbought at this point. Just 2.5% moving from ETH and BTC to LTC doubles the price.

I'll put my trust on ETH since its been my second choice after Bitcoin. ETH's price has been improving in the past few days and its been widely use by some ICOs so I can't think of any other altcoin that could replace BTC in the future aside from ETH so for me it is more valuable than LTC.

It's important when discussing ETH to differentiate between Ethereum the Platform and ETH the token. It seems that many investors don't understand that these are two different things.

Ethereum the platform definitely has value. It's a package that uses a blockchain (The public one generally is not used) for a database instead of more traditional databases. It might have uses where multiple companies need a common database that is decentralized for tracking purposes. These will be private blockchains; although, in some cases the public might havelimited access at a read only level. Unfortunately, when you buy ETH the token you don't own a piece of this potentially useful plateform.

ETH is a public token created by the Ethereum Platform. The ETH network has demonstrated that it is of limited use and not capable of living up to the hype. Technically, it's just not possible to run 100s of DAPPS on a decentralized system. The ETH network runs 1000s of times slower than a cell phone processor. The problem has been demonstrated during ICOs and more recently the Virtual Kittys DAPP clogging the memory pool. Imagine if several popular DAPPS being used worldwide 24/7 were developed. The ETH network would be a complete failure. We have all experienced problems with applications connected to centralized systems failing due to server load, these servers are fast and still can't keep up during peak usage. The ETH network will never keep up.

The fact is that decentralized systems are extremely slow. These types of systems might be able to do one function well; but, not multiple functions. For example they might be able to be money. It's already clear that doing a single function, like being money is difficult because of speed. That's why scaling issues exist and are such a hot topic in the cryptocurrency community.

These scaling issues suggest that multiple complementary coins will be part of the scaling solution. The solution will also include small blocksize increases within limitations of a decentralized network and second layers that use blockchains like LTC as a settlement layer.

LTC is intended to perform a single function (be money) and a single function is what a decentralized system might do well. This is a advantage as the system will not be crippled with other functions like DAPPs.

The Ethereum Platform has potential value and usefulness outside of cryptocurrency; unfortunately, that is owned and controlled by the Ethereum foundation and the public can't own a piece of that. ETH the public network isn't capable of performing multiple functions on the scale required to support multiple DAPPs. LTC as a decentralized network can perform a single function well.

Based on the above the Ethereum the Platform has potential value. ETH has little value and it's problems will continue to grow. LTC has value.

I think both are valuable. However, they are quite different in their nature.

LTC is very similar to BTC that its more a storage of value and a mean of transaction. Actually, it is better than BTC in terms of transaction due to the speed and cost of transaction

ETH is special because of the smart contract functionality. It also opens the door for all the ICO now.

However, the price trend of LTC is much better recently.

I believe the most valuable one of the two is ETH, and showing constant growth. LTC is only recently started showing signs of life, and how long with that last..

Although both ETH and LTC are valuable, I'm confident that ethereum leads more. ETH is more valuable than LTC and more trustworthy. But that doesn't mean one should ignore litecoin. It's best, in my opinion, to invest on BTC, ETH as well as LTC. The greater the variety, the greater the options and ways to earn more money.

It may look that it is not going to stop but there will be a limit for it just wait for it. Though LTC reached a new ATH too at $200 before but now it's really freaking sure of $326. That's a big increase for LTC but still I would assume that it's still safe to get into both of it. They are profitable so why you would only choose one of them if you can stick to both of them together.

Ethereum on the other hand has so much to offer through its smart contract platform. It has now added a gaming side to it.

Icos will always be there. So is gaming.

Well the so called younger brother of bitcoin is closing the gap really fast. LOL. But I'm sure that someone is just pumping LTC now, more than 200% increased already. I still stick with the old reliable ETH, a lot of promise in the future. Specially companies are eyeing its smart contract.

I'd say the LTC can't catch up with ETH as far as the price goes. However, if you want to get money on LTC, its too late because the price is already at the top and expect some dumping in the next couple of days.

at the forum bitcointalk today a lot of information has gathered about where the huge growth of the air is predicted for the price. 15,000 dollars I was even embarrassed, because I never expected that ETH would reach such a maximum price.

OP should be happy today if he invested in either one of them. Although LTC would have been better.  ;D
