The price has significantly dropped in last 24 hours. It was so high until yesterday. What's happening?

looking on coinmarketcap, bitcoin decreased by 20% and mostly every single other coin (a couple barley rose) went down in value :o

No, we should not be worried. There are always people who are going to sell their bitcoin for cash, especially when the price is this high. When bitcoin hits all-time-highs, people will sell because, well, it's an all-time high. People want to cash out when it hits a milestone. There are definitely other variables that are making the price drop. Day traders don't trade on weekends. That bitcoin futures contract was released today (I think). There could be less trading volume on weekends. Yes, it may have dropped 15-20% this past day or two, but think of the big picture. How much has it gone up the past three months, six months, one year? Bitcoin was ~$800 one year ago today. Think of the grand scheme. :)

It is always happening when bitcoin hits another record ATH's price of bitcoin, of course they will sell their bitcoin and they will get their profit but some of us still hold and I am still holding mine. As far as I know and as I've heard some news. Bitcoin will reach up to $30k so for me bettee to buy now. It is still not too late to invest. Big investors are coming.

It is always happening in any kind of cryptocurrency that when it dramatically increase its value it will surely fall back soon after hitting a certain amount, for the reason that short term investors are taking their profits and we have seen this a lot of times, Now Bitcoin drops from $17000+ to $13000+ but you don't need to worry about that instead it is a great opportunity to buy and hold more Bitcoin and take your profit after the correction. Correction is healthy in any kind of market (stock, cryptocurrency) because if the value of cryptocurrency or asset always goes up then people will not want to invest because it is too expensive.

Another big bullish trend to answer the flash bullish trend for bitcoin. In my prediction about this will not be so long. Remember you can try to read the previous chart about the bitcoin and bitcoin was doing the same with the latest chart. But remember it can back anytime depends on the how the market already succeed to pass the bearish trend.
Majority of newbies are feeling worry about that but this time it's only another correction without any fundamental.

Actually i regret that i didn`t sold most of bitcoins westerday at a price above 15000 USD.
I had some issues with paypal,but everyhting should be fine after a few days.
I wanted to sell btc at 15 K and buy  btc,when the price goes under 13K.Now it`s a great time fore more new traders to invest in btc.Around Christmass there will be a new record level for the btc price. 

Technically, we're working on our third red daily candle now. We didn't even drop 25% from the top yet. I'm hoping we drop more. A 30-35% drop would be typical, but even a larger decline to the test the log uptrend would be totally normal in this kind of trend.

Parabolic rallies tend to be incredibly volatile and full of whipsaws that punish traders in both directions. You can either HODL or you can scalp if you're a skilled trader. Swing trading at this velocity can be tough unless you hold out for a real deep correction to buy. A drop into the $8,000s would be a real gift right now. I'm very bullish, but I've got no longs here. I'd rather see bulls shaken out before I put any more risk on. If I'm wrong and we go straight up from here, at least I've got my spot coins.

Yeah it did drop by a large percentage over 1 day, maybe its the correct of price because of the abnormal price that happen over period of 1 month.
Theres no need to worry about the recent drop i think that 14k-15k is the stable price of bitcoin today till the year end.

Time to celebrate for those who are itching to buy bitcoin. And I know there is a lot of them. Because of the price increase they may taken out their doubts and would want to buy now at a price they can afford or they will be satisfied with.

People love to say Bitcoin is dead since 2013 but Bitcoin is far to be dead. When a cryptocurrency is losing about 20% you can't say it's dead, otherwise, most altcoins died a long time ago so.

It will probably go up during the next week. There are several others altcoins going down as well, it's not isolated to Bitcoin. If you can't handle to see a cryptocurrency going down then it's definitely not for you.

One of the reasons I'm sure among others are panic selling, but we must know the fluctuating of bitcoin price and still easy to be influenced by many things, didn't close the possibility it will moving back to the height again. I'm sure the current price drop happens, it's just temporary and would be moving back upwards, I'm sure it is!. So well I just suggest don't too worrying about that, it's good we take positively things and deal with the situations with calmly.

It's just a correction of BTC's price from the pumps that we've seen for the past week or so. Has been absolutely crazy and obviously wasn't going to be sustainable and now we're in the regression stage of that pump. I don't think it's anything to worry about though.

As I said - perfectly normal, and you should have expected this TBH. Just look at the BTC charts, every single time following a big pump is a big correction and this time is no exception.

this is because bitcoin is a bubble and now it is starting to pop resulting for the value to drop drasticallly without any further notice. i believe that it can still continue to go down and this problem is something that we should worry about. in my case im now starting to convert my coins into our local curreny which is ( php ) because im affraid that this event can last longer and ill be ended up loosing instead of earning a profit with my invested bitcoin. though im still hodling my altcoins because i feel confident about the state of altcoins even if they are falling sometimes just like bitcoin but they usually recover on a specific date.

possible reason is its the weekends, traders are off on weekends. by monday time we might, i say "might" see it continue its rise for the traders will be back at it again. old saying "buy low sell high" .

I think no need to worried, because bitcoin is like investment so it's normally the price will be up and down.
and I sure before end of the year the price will increase again.

From my views about the bitcoin we do not worried about the price of bitcoin in the future because the price of bitcoin is countinously increase and it may also increases in the future  but in the future the price of bitcoin may be fall down but the falling price of bitcoin is less than the increases price of bitcoin so we don't worried about the the price of bitcoin . So it is safe to invest in bitcoin and gain more profit from the bitcoin.

The price of bitcoin has decreased, but it always happens before bitcoin will start once again to reach new maximum. We see that not only reduced the price of bitcoin. The indices of all other cryptocurrencies are also reduced. This means that the flow of capital to other coins is not happening. Investors bought dollars and wait a minimum value to buy coins.

Few short term holders might sold their bitcoins at $15k because the value suddenly increased from $5k so that might be reason for increased no of sellers. As per my knowledge i don't think traders may sell in weekends. There are few predictions are negative here like dying etc..
Those will make new traders to sell theirs. But the fact is we should not worry abou this drop. It will bubble again

That fall in the prices does not look like an alarm,if the price fell again until the $8K then would be an alarm signal there is also the option that the price remains stable between $15K or around that would also be a good sign,and if,such as some people say,the market is cyclical,then there is no reason to really worry about that.

Agree, we shouldn't be alarmed by a small decrease in the price of bitcoin because this is just normal due to volatility. Other people are starting this thread about the decrease when it was not that big and compared to those previous dump, this is nothing. But if the price continue to decrease after few days then you may be worried, just don't overthink too much to avoid panic selling and hold because eventually the price will rise again.

in fact we do not have to worry too much about this, as long as anyone exchanges or sells bitcoin. so I think we should just calm down, of course will be many people who sell or exchange bitcoin with cash, especially when bitcoin prices are high.

Only newbie will worry when they see Bitcoin keep in going down, if the person follow Bitcoin movement for a long time then the person will know this drop down is because of the correction and this already happened so many times, in the end Bitcoin always recover and able to hit ATH

More people doing panic sell the price will fall down deeper, so no need to panic or worry

If youre asking about something that happened in just the last 24 hours generally that isnt very significant unless the last 24 hours was something like the great mtgox crash of 2013.

no,its totally cool ,bitcoin price always going up and down, market rate was high bitcoin were tend to sold ,this could be reason for the price drop ,anyways just checked few minutes back that price again tends to grow. Due to bitcoin volatile nature it will happen in future also so don't need to worry or panic about it.

Yes bitcoin price always going and up so actually it is normal trend in the market. Others coins is always volatile as to btc also. Price drops but it will tend to rise the usual happen in bitcoin market so Im not worried to sell btc.

This morning Bitcoin has serious recovery from yesterday loses and many people have been  buy low yesterday and this is pumping the price up. As at the time of making this post we have seeing a high significant progress and Bitcoin is currently  $16,300 and it may be heading toward  $20,000 before end of this week. I think with this current progress you should not be worry as there is nothing to be worried about. Bitcoin must make a correction and future trade has nothing to do with that as Bitcoin is becoming acceptable all over the world.

You are certainly correct that there is need to worry about the price loss that happen during the past few days, a lot of traders has been scared of the what has happen during the significant price drop and sold their coins but the true gainers are the one who bought the coins at a low price, bitcoin up to now continue to recover.

We did even saw the quick dumped of bitcoin because of the network attack last time when BCH is pumping. And it was even higher than the drop yesterday.

Since it is weekend, normally everyone is just taking profits so they are selling to make their weekend good to take time to relax and buy everything they want to. And this week is a healthy week again, the price is looking good already.

We should not panic, there ar a lot of factors.that affects the price of bitcoin, one of which is.yhe volume of people that bought bitcoin at a high price, just like in the traditional stock market, if you had already gain enougj profit for you goal, you will do profit taking, there are still a lot of people who do not understand how investing works, they just go along with the trend and lastly, we shoupd take into consideration it is december, the holidays is nearing, if you see you had gained profit, you will take it as well, and the same thing also had happened in the traditional stock market, there is a price fluctuation, the only difference with bitcoin is, bitcoin because it has a high value, a huge difference should be seen in order for people to.speculate it is a bubble, but it is not.

This is the best thing to do now of not in panic mode. Yes there are a lot of reasons why bitcoin price becomes cheap and I guess there is a second correction will be happen anytime. In this drama, it is to good to decide whether you will ride this chain or hold until the price of bitcoin will climb.

Looks like it's in an upward trend lately. I decided to pull the trigger and buy some more at ~14k just now so I make a little bit more profit on the way up. Not sure what the plan is for me in terms of holding it long term but I do think it will be up past 20k next month and the short term solution is just to HODL.
 
I have just around 1BTC at the moment which is pretty good. The price may hit levels way beyond that in the future, but I'll decide at a later time when it's right to sell. Definitely not right now though. The price is bouncing back.

That is normal nothing to be worried because the price is drop high that is the right time you can buy cheaper bitcoin and keep it or you can use it in trading to earn more profit,the reason why bitcoin dump because of holiday season many bitcoiners exchange there tokens into real money,as you can see today the bitcoin price is pumping greatly it's price will coming high you need to be patience don't panic because bitcoin price is fluctuating and that is a part of crypto currency.
