Title: I found that many virtual currencies are falling in these days. Is this a normal
Post by: qq1041414104 on December 11, 2017, 01:39:34 AM
I am a newbie and have just come to this area. I bought some virtual currency, but these days they are falling, probably I do not have enough experience, this situation is very puzzled. I do not know if this is normal or not. I hope so. Why did such a collective fall come about? I hope everyone can give me some answers, talk about your views, this will be very helpful to me, thank you for your reply.
I think I should know more about the blockchain so it's not easy to get puzzled in the deal. I have purchased some books on this subject and I will read them carefully and I think it is a very good way of understanding the virtual currency.
Is there any way I can better understand the virtual currency?
I will be very willing to learn, waiting for your answer, thank you!

YES.  If you're a noob to this, welcome.  Don't shitpost on bitcointalk, that's number one.  Number two is:  Hold onto your socks, dude, because crypto (bitcoin and all the altcoins) is more volatile than any other asset I've ever seen.  Up and down constantly, and by extremely large percentage points.  You've probably seen the rise from $2000 to $15,000 in the past few months, correct?  Well, it can fall just as drastically.

My take on it is that the overall trend is upward, but it remains to be seen whether this is a long-term thing or if we're in a bubble that's going to pop.  It could go either way, which is why you see a lot of short-term traders taking their money off the table when they make a profit.  But get used to it.  You'll see that when we get corrections in the bitcoin market, they're extreme--more extreme than in the stock market, by far.

Yes, the decrease in alctoin is caused by the welcome of Christmas and the new year which is about to arrive.I think they need money and sell their altcoin and btc for the holidays.

First off, welcome to the world of crypto. May I know what you invest in crypto in the first place? I just want to know the reasons so that we can give you the right answer that you are looking for. If you just say that you come in and bought it without doing any homework then why are asking this questions? You should have at least study crypto's and if you did I'm sure that you know the answer to your questions by now.

Are you here thinking that you will get rich quick? If yes, then this is not the perfect place for you, I'm sorry to burst the bubble.

I think I should know more about the blockchain so it's not easy to get puzzled in the deal. I have purchased some books on this subject and I will read them carefully and I think it is a very good way of understanding the virtual currency.

Why would you want to know about blockchain? Blockchain is just the underlying technology behind bitcoin. No need to deal with them unless you are going to be developer. But from the looks of it, you aren't. No need to buy books, all knowledge based is here already. You just have to explore this forum and you will get the answers that you are looking for.

In my opinion these are coins that came from airdrop and the airdrops are close to ending.  Some coins are just shit coin and no values after all. Some coins have no potential project, no originality, no uses to the community and that other dev team just make money so that they can have a chunk of money from crowdfunding.  But not all, some coins has really good use to the community.  Like other coins are really have value that some establishment accept them for payment of good and services.  Some coins are use for gas, etc.  That's why you have to do your research before buying some.

Well, holidays are coming soon, people need money here and you drop prices. But there are really valuable coins that, despite even small falls, have their weight and price, but others can not even compete in this. Therefore, look at the leading positions in the alts.

Definitely, it has nothing to do with the fact that you are still new with cryptocurrency. It so happened that coins and tokens do go up and go down depending on the market forces available. Generally speaking, when Bitcoin is going up many of the alternative coins will go down because capital usually go with what is rising. When Bitcoin is going down, there is a big possibility that capital inflows would be shifting to alts. This is just a normal cycle with the whole cryptocurrency market and one that you should understand and anticipate. As for me, I only select a limited number of alts which I invested with because most of these alts (including the so-called shitcoins) will deteriorate in value and you will lose your money in the money when it is time to cut loss. Last year, when I was just a newbie like you, I made a big mistake of investing my Bitcoin with some ICOs which I assumed would go up in value but sadly many of them were dump and right now their values are tanking. Had I decided to just keep my Bitcoin intact I could have been making good money with the current rate of Bitcoin. There are many risks that we should take and some of them can give us good return-on-investment while many will not. This is just part and parcel of the cryptocurrency adventure. In the end, the most important thing is that you must be a winner so just continue on what you are doing, improve your chances by learning more things and never, ever give up on this new industry as the future belongs to cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency is the future.

I was also confused when I started trading and investing in crypto. I had lost almost 20% of my investment when I experienced this type of drop first time. Now I am used to it. Just hold when market start to fall and it will come to normal in couple of days.

Besides the holidays which could lead people cashing in their cryptocoins for fiat, this could be caused by a powerful bitcoin which has lead to a fallof these other virtual currencies.

Why did such a collective fall come about?
As others have already said holiday seasons are usually shopping times and people need money for this so they will sale their coins for cash.
I think I should know more about the blockchain so it's not easy to get puzzled in the deal. I have purchased some books on this subject and I will read them carefully and I think it is a very good way of understanding the virtual currency.

Nothing beats the good old fashioned hands-on experience but if your books are effective enough in giving you the information you need, do share you experience just might help someone else out there.

Currencies then falls. The main thing is not to close the deal in minus. If you want to quickly join the topic of crypto, you can watch video reviews, read news and blog posts. And every week you will be closer and closer to the blockchain.

Since bitcoin price is growing (due to cboe & cme listing), investor is selling alts and buying bitcoin. Its quite natural. Alts will also move once bitcoin complete its rally.

yes it is not only normal but also common.

if you take a look at the charts of these altcoins and see the early 2017 part of their charts, mostly pre August, you can see they had big rises out of nowhere and strange rises which we call pumps.
each of these pumps led to a big bubble in their respective altcoin which needs bursting. and for a while now, they have been bursting and getting dumped.
