Interested to know your thoughts regarding price/predictions.

Also, once again, congratulations Charlie Lee for hitting new highs over and over!

Litecoin is doing well now, but the real question is, will it stay on this course til the end of the year, or is this just a pump and dump scenario?

I wish i had some LTC now

this development doesnt wonder me,

people are pissed of with the high fees of bitcoin so they look for an alternative,

forks have a bad image, so they switch to bitcoins clone, litecoin.

thats cuasing the litecoin surge.

Litecoin is doing phenomenally with the price increase.  Prices may continue to increase. However, this tweet by Charlie Lee is kind of discouraging for those who plan to invest in Litecoin right now.   https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/940353265585160192

we see that it is an old coin and it came from a slow growth and we know that Litecoin is a partner of Bitcoin, and deserves also to go to moon, so with the king (Bitcoin). :)

Litecoin was the first ALT coin I bought back in Jan/Feb and
through all the pumps of other alts and Bitcoin itself I held.

So many times I have posted in the past to add Litecoin to
peoples portfolios. It seems like people always overlook LTC
in favour of cheap coins in the hope they pump to the moon.

Litecoin is for the long haul up until yesterday LTC was +4000%

It's already at the moon. It grown X2.5 in one week only! Frankly I don't think that the price will be fixed at 250$. Most probably it will be dumped to 150-180 soon.

Ltc is the one i like from long ago, it is a good hedge, if you want to diversify your investment other than bitcoin put your funds in eth and ltc only for long term growth.

Many who made the right predictions say that Litecoin in mid-2018 will reach $ 1000, and even earlier. But after what Charlie Lee wrote on Twitter I began to doubt them. :(

Litecoin is the same thing that bitcoin, but with no congestionnate blockchain. It's cool but it's also a doom. But if you know bitcoin as well you'll know how to handle it. so it's the same thing for cold storage and it's may be good for long term :)

I can't believe what I just see! Litecoin  $281. Congratulations to those who have hold litecoin and hope it gets  $500 soonest. I sold my hold around April out of panic and I sold it then $24! If I could have hold and sell today I will be having over $20,000. For those that are holding, the moon is still far and you have to still holding.

I think the main force driving Litecoin's growth is Bitcoin's slow transactions, as well as Etherium's Kitty-based congestion. I wonder if (hope) the value will decrease once these issues get sorted out.

But, does Litecoin deserve to have such a surge? Yeah. It's just a matter of whether its ascension is premature or not.

Well, he's just being an honest guy, because obviously the price is too big for now. I was lucky to buy ltc for $20, I'll hold it anyway, for I believe ltc can do even more than we see now in a couple of years. Yet I surely believe that the price can suffer a huge correction and perhaps it's better to buy some ltc at that time.
And yet this post is just about his predictions and one can't really predict the course of the currency even if he's developing it.
I think we should be patient with this currency and not expect it to go more that $300 within the next few months.

The volume is interesting, $6trillion (really) which is about 10x normal and most the day yet to go.  On a rational level, this could be a reaction to Bitcoin just being too expensive and people switching.  However, half the volume is on cash pairs, and Bitcoin also rising, suggests new money coming in?  Its a lot for people to have spontaneously decided they like this coin and piled in.

Does anyone know if this growth is sustainable? Or is it whales finding a cheaper quicker way to cash out?  I had 3 litecoin, I stupidly traded for a crapton of altcoin a day before this happened.  Any experts wanna weigh in?  What is the price going to do once all the rich people are done milking the system?

I am also shocked about the recent price bump of litecoin,it is nearly around $300,maybe it is due to the big whales storing value in one coin to make more profit from it.But litecoinn is a good potential coin but the rapid price increase makes a feel that price going to dump soon so don't be an victim by investing on litecoin at higher price.

At the moment, the price of lightcoin looks just fine. The question is: will this price be fixed, and will there be further growth? For me, altcoyins serve so far to increase the number of my bitcoins, trading short.

BTC is a hype right now and ppl are starting to get into crypto more and more. The price of BTC is to high so newcommers look for cheaper coins to invest and buy in.

Charlie Lee warned about the risks associated with the purchase of litecoin. And asked those who will not be able to survive the cryptocurrency drop to $20, don't buy it. Price of 1 LTC is now at $292.

I would suggest to take some BTC gains, maybe 10-15% of your LTC position if you did at least 50-60% gain. A dip over BTC is very likely at this point and you can re-enter later.
Different story for USD, I would not sell.

Litecoin grew very strongly. Very unexpected. What is this growth? Only what the light took on steam. the only news and iza, she's so...
But now, Charlie Lee said that investors were prepared for the fact that the light can return to $ 20. He is a very smart man I think he feels the market very well

Charlie is just making the point that the market has ups and downs. One of the few honest people in cryptocurrency, that's why so many people like him and LTC. The critics generally are just pissed because he exposed some lie they maintain in their efforts to manipulate people and pump a coin.

More than 100% just today? Really insane. I have to re-think above my investment though, hahahha. I don't know where all the pump is coming from. I don't want to get trap but sometimes my greed is coming in. LOL. Let's see how it goes in the next few hours. :)

I'm trying to find a reason for this massive growth but I can't ...
The only one I found is that steam could replace bitcoin payment by litecoin ... sounds a bit weak for a such big growth !

I've secured some profit & wait for the dip :-)

EDIT :
Looks like difficulties to withdraw on bitfinex justify the growth as people convert in Litecoin to withdraw after

a year ago or more a saw a post about a billionaire going heavily into ltc

the pics looked like he was converting some huge car park to house his asic farm

Also bringing his network into ltc

ltc is far more suitable right now for mass adoption than btc

I sold for 100 thinking it was great after holding since 1-2 dollars

Now as always remorse at selling :)

Hopefully though it can hit 1 k always liked it and gave a ton more people chance to mine easily than btc did.

IF doge goes parabolic next you can see investors are looking at POW fairly mined and distributed alternatives to btc

they know other distributional methods leave them open for too much manipulation

I'm watching doge to see where the money funnels too next

Where to buy good LTC mining gear now for immediate delivery??

The growth of Litecoin was associated with delays in the withdrawal of funds from Bitfinex.
Two days ago several users wrote that the withdraw in Litecoin are processed more quickly than in other cryptocurrencies, which could cause a sharp surge of interest in this asset.

Charlie Lee recently wrote that they are increase Litecoin marketing.
While Litecoin has updated the next high of the price, the creator of the crypto currency Charlie has issued a warning that in the future its price can be much worse.

Ok, sorry to spoil the party, but I need to reign in the excitement a bit…

Buying LTC is extremely risky. I expect us to have a multi-year bear market like the one we just had where LTC dropped 90% in value ($48 to $4). So if you can’t handle LTC dropping to $20, don’t buy!

— Charlie Lee [LTC] (@SatoshiLite)

Every crypto bull run I’ve seen has been followed by a bear cycle. The market needs time to consolidate. That’s just my experience from 7 years of watching this space.

How low and how long it will be is TBD. People need to be aware of this possibility and invest responsibly.

— Charlie Lee [LTC] (@SatoshiLite

Do you think it's a best time to invest ? I think i'll wait for price cool down even price still rise up to $500, after that I only start to invest , maybe you can take a look short term trade and don't hold for long

Wow, Litecoin shows a really good results. It has always been in my own list of perspective coins to invest, but I did not expected such sudden raise.
Now I am afraid and do not know if I need to invest more money in it. According to Charlie Le (creator of Litecoin) wrote in his Twitter such message :

Buying LTC is extremely risky. I expect us to have a multi-year bear market like the one we just had where LTC dropped 90% in value ($48 to $4). So if you can't handle LTC dropping to $20, don't buy!

After his words I do not want to invest more money and lose them one day. I will just hold the amount of LTC I already have.. Or sell some at the top.

I think it's important to realize that Crypto investment is still very very very small compared to other markets (gold, stocks, commodities etc)
There will be people who get rich off Litecoin and some other cryptos. Few people who are just now investing will get rich off Bitcoin. I mean even if you put $1000 in bitcoin, and it goes from 16k to 400k soon, you'd still only end up with $25k. And that's a big projection, it probably won't go that high anytime soon.
My point is, at this stage in the game, at least regarding bitcoin, you do have to have money to make money. You can still make massive gains, but with bitcoin the days of investing 100 or 1000 dollars and potentially becoming a millionaire are long gone.
Litecoin however, still may present that possibility. Maybe not, but it's definitely more possible with Litecoin.
Still most people aren't heavily invested. Keep in mind that 97% of people who are into bitcoin own less than a whole bitcoin. Only 3% own more than 1btc. So yeah a relatively small number of people might become super-rich. Not much different from current situation.
Even right now, with all the talk of bitcoin on TV, the average person is still not investing. The average person doesn't even invest in the stock market. Most Americans have no stocks. Bitcoin isn't going to change that. The fact is that most people just don't want to invest their money in things.
Even if we did have a bunch more rich people, the result would be using cryptos for fraction or maybe redefining it. Realistically when there is no more coins, the value would increase, and tinier and tinier amounts of the coin would have value. Something like maybe charging .00000000000000000000000001 bitcoin for a cup of coffee or something like that. Of course they might need to reconfigure it a bit to be usable properly, but it won't change everything overnight. The change would/will be gradual enough that it will all work out.

Today is a highlight! https://www.tokens24.com/coin/litecoin/

I too check that, found around 150 US dollars change in couple of days. This is actually a amazing price move in the LTC price chart. My friend also last week bought a 4 LTC with his salary. I am really happy that he will also make some lumsum fund with the amount he invested.
Next to ethereum, litecoin only will grab the number three place and in future we may find the coin in the ltc platform too. This bump will make sure that is definite information.

I was planning to invest in LTC, but I beted on Ethereum. I believe despite all that this is a more reliable option, although Litecoin is still growing in strength and can be very important in the world of Bitcoin next year.

Me too, I can't believe that litecoin is rising up. It's kickin' litecoin to the moon. But I think litecoin not stable to $200 plus, maybe $100 only. What's next?

Why is LTC taking off now all of a sudden, you would think it would've done so long ago if it was going to do anything?  I haven't really been paying attention much.

i don't think its specific to litecoin...
monero, dash and some others also went to the moon !
too bad, i didn't invested, before, but honestly how could i guess ?

even eth reached 600$. i guess i'll have to wait for long before something looks good to buy.

i absolutely refuse to buy anything so over priced.

congratz to LTC holders anyway !

I have mixed feelings, I bought both eth and ltc today after dumping ltc when ltc dropped to 97. I bought them both on the way up so I'm already ahead but I jumped so it was more emotional move than a thought out one. I have been reading about ltc and I like the Lee factor and it's efficiency but I think I should be more cautious in my actions.

Ltc is the one i like from long ago, it is a good hedge, if you want to diversify your investment other than bitcoin put your funds in eth and ltc only for long term growth.

You are absolutely right..... It is the next BTC in town.

Suggestion from non-crypto forum is that its new money invested based on general FOMO outside of crypto land.  The suggested strategy was that new entrants tend to deposit on Coinbase where the options are BTC (dont get much numerically, fees), ETH (slow network) and so LTC should be a strong performer in 2018.

The strategy was posted last Friday, so i wonder if the story was being spread through the non-crypto world, and its taken off.

Do you think that lightcoin will be a very strong competitor for the etherium? I do not think that their functionality is very similar and therefore I still had to bet on the broadcast.

The prices are so unpredictible right now as every coin has risen. But I am searching about the coins which are in top 50 and have not risen yet. They usually have to make an attack

this is where we can say that litecoin has a great future this is what i have learned and make some prediction also and now we see that litecoin making a good performance as of now.

The entire cryptocurrency market is completely unpredictable, the ongoing price bump of Litecoin is an proof for the same. None expected such a sudden growth from Litecoin crossing $300 at the earliest within days. Recently one of my friend invested into it, and suggested me. But I didn't believed that such a big growth could happen, here to luck has got importance.

BTC max supply is 21 000 000 coins. Litecoin's max supply is 4 times larger. But Bitcoin costs 52 times more than Litecoin. So if LTC price rise 2-3 times more at these days it won't mean Litecoin has reached the Moon, will it?

I don't expect litecoin will experience such a growth  above $300, by its growth we can tell it is good to invest in litecoin as it will perform well in 2018, it is now one of the best top 10 altcoins, next to ethereum ltc is expected to be more worthy.

My friend became interested to this coin just before it increased its price few days ago and I'm quite disappointed to myself that I didn't invest into it right away. That friend of mine is already transferring his money to LTC and he is expecting more price increase in the coming months. Fortunately, I also see this forecast and slowly but surely, I'm also accumulating this in addition to my portfolio. This coin has been tested by time and every year, it is delivering really well and providing good profit to its holders. Don't think and just accumulate this one. You'll thank me in the future.  ;)

definitely see good things coming for Litecoin in 2018. Especially with Bitcoin and Ethereum prices soaring, people will look at accumulating other coins such as this.   However it could fluctuate very quickly in the short term and even Charlie himself has expressed this. So whether you wait for a dip or jump right in would be a calculated risk for you to what you are willing to loose.

It's already at the moon. It grown X2.5 in one week only! Frankly I don't think that the price will be fixed at 250$. Most probably it will be dumped to 150-180 soon.
i dont think it will be dumped to 150-180 .It has a potential of pumping more.considering the way its one of the fastest for transaction.
Probably it might even moon to 400-500 by the year end
