If you just installed the client, your laptop is still processing transactions that happened a year and a half ago. It won't register any recent blocks until it's sorted all the older ones out first.

Is it done downloading the block chain or still counting?

Check the number at the bottom of the bitcoin client on your laptop.  Once it matches this number (http://blockexplorer.com/q/getblockcount), and you still don't have any bitcoins, then you can panic.

Hint: If your laptop is nearby your PC e.g. they are networked together, you can speed up the block chain download by starting the bitcoin client with -connect=<ip>, where <ip> is the IP address of your PC.

Relaunch client. If not better, use only 1 bitcoin client at the same time on the same internet line (NAT port forwarding and uPnP related, sometime it fails with 2+ running bitcoin clients)

I relaunched the client 3 times and reboot the laptop twice....still nothing.....

Try just backing up your wallet.dat again (make sure the client is fully closed) then delete the bitcoin client and all its data and reinstall. Restore the wallet.dat file and let it have a few hours at least to download the whole block chain.

An alternative is to do a -rescan.  You can search other threads on how to do that.

I would recommend trying to find a block chain download, then kill bitcoin on your other computer and reluanch your client.
Anyone got the links to the pre-downloaded block chain?

That was your problem there, it was trying to connect to a non-existent proxy probably.
If you would like, I can upload my block chain to accelerate the process.

This happened to me before. I think it has issues running two clients behind a router. Just send from the one client with the other off and wait for confirmation and then close the sender and open the receiver.

A better way to do it:

pc1: PC with completed block chain, launch with --server and configure rpc.conf
pc2: PC with stalling block chain launch with --conect pc2 --user username --pass password

This will download the blocks at LAN speeds.

use --help or /? for syntax on commands.

OR

zip the block chain and copy to pc2 and extract.

As long as they were sent correctly and you can find them in block explorer its just dumb to freak out, once its in the network and you still have your wallet files your golden man. Just be patient.

And can you title your headline a bit more appropriately in the future, please?

In fact, you can change it now if you press "Edit".

"OMG help! Wtf?"

isn't exactly that descriptive... how is anybody else supposed to be helped by this post in the future when they search for your problem?

A forum is not your personal helpline.

Get full block chain, which will happen eventually or you can download the most recent blockchain from here, which should catch you up to just a few hours ago, and the rest of the blocks will download faster from there.

http://bitcoin.bluematt.me/bitcoin-nightly/blockchain-nightly/

Then, your transaction will come through. And yeah, edit the title.
