Title: BIOSTAR TB85 worth buying? Post by: SuperDerpBro on December 13, 2017, 09:47:31 AM Are these boards any good if you can get a new one cheap? I'm reading a lot of reviews on newer Biostar mining boards being pretty trash and even catching fire!
Looking to get a 6 card rig set up as cheap as possible for ROI reasons. I have 4 1060s running on an old https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-EP45-UD3R-rev-11#ov and have been wanting to go for 6 cards. One of these would be MUCH cheaper than a new MB/CPU/RAM. It's cheap and simple to get working with 6+ cards. If you look at the motherboard statistics for ethOS, the TB85 is one of the most popular boards currently in use.
http://ethosdistro.com/versions I have one and it's been rock solid with up to 7 AMD cards using a PCI-E expander on the last PCI-E 1x slot.
