A very interesting miner oriented coin. It's a pity there is no real patent protection for blockchain innovations yet. A lot of these great projects don't get as much traction as they should. One of them will enable a fair and energy-efficient way to start new blockchain projects. Alas, I don't think any of the financial benefits of creating it will go to the initial inventor. Either that or the future will be like in the patent issues in softwhere. Every just buying portfolios of patents and suing the living crap out of each other over weird small issues.

The global hashrate is at around 100gh/s at the moment, which is quite low, and the reward is building up, near 40ECT now, so even some simple gaming rig have a chance to get some reward.
Best is, people seem to dump ECT at whaterver people are willing to pay (on coinsmarkets), so if you don't want to mine, you can pick them up for as low as 3k sat.

I am not fully sure,but i think PoS starts after the PoW phase ends,which is at the block 15000(1 month after release).That is the idea of this coin,to not be a minable coin,so it does not consume much power with transactions.PoS and masternodes will be the only way of getting more after the first month,grab them now when they are cheap,I will hold my part.

I don't know if there is something wrong with staking, or if it is supposed to start after the POW period, but I haven't got a single stake yet, and the wallet reports network hashrate as 0.
I only have about 400 coins in the wallet, so that may be part of the reason, but it looks wrong. Also I notice that coinsmarkets don't give stake either.

I agree with you, I think people might be in too much of a rush on this coin, giving the dev too much hell lol. Quality takes time, and I been in crypto projects for a long time and from my experience this one so far is moving at a very decent pace.

Issue a lot of users don't get behind the scenes, you just don't get added to exchanges easily, you don't get progress every day because blockchain tech is still young and requires time and effort to pull something new off.

Far as the dev being away, normal right now. I am running marketing for Visio, used to do it for PIVX, and also have 4 other projects in the mix not public yet. Not one of these projects have any movement right now because of the holiday season. Most our devs are away or working while everyone is out and about enjoying some time away from crypto. You can see it simply by looking at the trading going on with BTC and other coins.

I believe by the dynamics of this coin, it has a lot of potential, may need some community support and insiders to boost them into new exchanges and so on. Even I with the contacts I have, its still an uphill battle to get coins on exchanges and I am pretty much buddies with most of them at this stage. They are all just picky and want a coin to go through a proving stage.

Long as the dev keeps at it here and the community supports, it will do well. Its a good start, nothing about this coin feels off to me personally, and I am pretty picky about projects.

That is the only exchange so far I found for this one. I may touch base with the dev when he returns, if he wants a little help in that area. I just got a coin on Next.Exchange and I have contacts in that area. Definitely needs a few more, hate to say Yobit but they aren't hard to get on just to dispurse this out a little more

Just checked for the heck of it, to get on with Coinmarketcap this coin needs to trade a minimum of 50K USD a day (24 Hour trading period), so it probably will be a must to get on other exchanges for that inclusion to happen for Ectam but the guys over at Coinmarketcap are willing to list when that day comes. They are pretty laid back about that stuff just have a few minor standards to contend with.

So if everyone backs this, trade your hearts out lol....all these things take time but I think this one is worth a hold by the numbers and the anti-instamine factor in it. I will sit on it through the POW phase myself, see what comes of this down the road. Best way to help, get proactive and put that community togetherness behind it, usually that is one of the biggest keys to boost a coin you get early in on.

Hi, the coin dev usually don't have much to do with the pools. I took a look, and they don't have ectam listed, so maybe they, as several other pools, simply have delisted it because the dev is hiding.

Looks like no. I find it funny that some mining pools still add ECT given the fact that project seems to be abandoned. I also mined some coins with one rig for half a day just for the fun but looks like a stupid decision.

85% of the completed blocks ... what will happen after reaching the goal ?, is it that at the beginning of phase 2 should Dev appear? Maybe it's part of the DEV's strategy, because whoever has more coins will get a 200% return on the POS. This will boost the currency's value upwards.

The hashrate is low, so you'll get a fair share of what little is left, but sure.
Chance is that the project just dies, as there have been no communication from the dev in weeks, (or he just wait until pow is over).
Also, the only exchange, coinsmarkets, seem to be unable to get their system back up and running.
So, many risks involved. Maybe just as good that you didn't 'make it in time', who knows.

I haven't looked at the source much, so some work will be needed to find the real specs of the blockchain (total coins and emission in particular).
Some donations would probably be needed to get it listed on exchanges as well. It is still on coinsmarkets though, but what happens there is anyones guess, and the real price is way below 1 sat, so it would have to be added to doge markets etc.

I can't prioritize work with this as it is now, but maybe some c++ guy would find it fun to dig out some details?

Issue here, dev disappeared, top that off he listed this coin on an exchange that is now being investigated by the authorities after looking more into CoinMarkets. Apparently they were a scam and ran off with users money, MT GOX all over again lol. So I would be very careful but honestly this coin has no dev nor any exchange listed for it. Not sure if the dev just quit on it or what happened to the exchange he put this on ran him off but questions definitely do need some answers. Amazing I still hold this wallet on my system, I think deletion is probably wise, I think I can use the free space on a cheap game or something lol

Sorry everyone that mined side by side with me on this crap, but eventually crypto will sort it out and push these scammers out of the industry.
