amazon allowed to run minergate? hmm i'm so outdated on this technology. Some says minergate is legit and some says it is just a waste of time frying your GPU. I never uses a mining software to mine BTC as of now. But i'm planning to buy a rig when i get enough money to buy 4-5 of those rigs.

I can't speak for people who are actually mining when I say this but I'm fairly confident that you won't be able to go very far on mining ETH because there's a lot of people moving to do that already with a lot more aggressive equipment that outpace CPUs pretty quickly in the grand scheme of things.

Mingergate isn't exactly efficient either from what I remember using it for, maybe it is fine but it wasn't necessarily exceptional in my experience. Mining a lot of the other altcoins they offer might be rewarding though.

There are still some better options though which theres a coin which would be worth to mine on either on CPU or GPU of your own PC but when it comes to ETH then i would say it would really be hard already as you said there are lots of people who do make use lots of equipment just to mine ETH coin which means difficulty would really be high compared to others.
