Why do we need AL? Are we destroying us ourselves?

The development and evolution of technology in our days are extraordinary but, at the same time we should have a limit regarding this evolution because we may create the monster that will eat us.

Absoultely yes , we are destroying ourselves by creating some evil artificial intelligence. Today, This seems good but In the future, artificial intelligences will take possesion of earth and They also sound the death knell for humankind. This is the brutal truth.

Friend, you've seen horror movies and films about robots too much.
I'm sure that artificial intelligence will help us, it'll facilitate daily routine, as it'll perform standard work, where imagination and creativity are not needed. In other words - AI will do boring, mechanical work.
So, this will allow people to free time for other, more interesting tasks :)

AI can surely process all trivial tasks at huge pace compared to humans.
Traffic Control, Automating Support, Automating Manufacturing, Fraud Detection, Imposing Laws without corruption etc. It has many good uses.
AI in simple words is implementing human senses in machines. Humans will surely benefit from UI. Though we are seeing automation of tasks is leading to job cutting, in long term it is going to turn out to be a major benefit. So AI cannot destroy us or maybe the other words somebody says "AI will eat us like a monster" these only happen in movies. AI will do or helps all of us.

It should worry us that some of the world's top minds like Elon Musk are worried about Artificial Intelligence, they have proved to be superior to humans in almost every field that they have been made to work in. What if a robot was programmed to make the world a better place and it deems humans unnecessary? Governments will surely give robots and AI military capabilities so they are definitely a threat if we do not contain them, there should be regulation on the programming of AI and the use of it in warfare.

Are not all of your decisions based on yes, or no, responses?
Whats the difference? Humans are just a more complex machine than our simple computers we build.
All learning is binary, except humans have a few more systems in place, than todays current automations. Is feeling not a binary process as well? I mean, you can either feel pain, or pleasure, and a number of variations of both, which in reality, are the same thing, just binary responses.
  Do we as humans, not have five senses of depth? We taste, touch, smell, hear, and see. So are each of these sensory perceptions not apart of a binary system? You can smell, but the smell is either good, or bad. You can hear, but is the sound not either good, or bad? You can taste, but is taste not either good or bad?
I could go on, but explain to me, what separates a human from a machine, besides extra sensory perceptions, that are based upon a binary system?

No we are not destroying ourselves, you have been watching too many Hollywood movies. AI helps in making our lives much easier.

We need AI to have better spare time for relaxing and enjoying. It is the same reason why we required calculator and computer. AI will be doing most of work with higher professional hazard.

Not destroying. AI admittedly can be a lot of help to make society progress faster. We re scared of how ai can become harmful and hostile once they get too intelligent but we ourselves are intelligent and we will have everything under control

Artificial intelligence is the mutual branch of both computer science and engineered
robotics. Artificial intelligence is ideally a computational machine consisting of highly
programmed software with vital abilities to understand and interpret natural human
language, sense and speech, logical thinking and most importantly learning not only
through data, but also observations. It emphasizes on the creation of intelligent
“machines” that deal and impersonate just like humans. Advancement associated with
AI is highly technical and specialized. Core problems in making an AI in relation to
computer science are knowledge engineering and machine learning where as in
relation to robotics core problems are object movement and manipulation, navigation
and motion mapping.
Today, the breathtaking examples of AI like Sophia (first robot citizen of the world) and
Google Deep Mind are changing the way we look the automation. From intelligent
phone assistants (SIRI, Cortana) to self-driving cars, AI is progressing rapidly.
Meanwhile science fiction often portrays AI as robots with human -like characteristics ,
but that is the not what the reality portrays. Engineers and scientists are still trying to
reach a point that would be considered full artificial intelligence, where a computer
could be said to have the same cognitive capacity as a humans.
But, I believe it’s good that AI is not the real ity. Many Scientists and thinkers have
argued over the advancement of the Artificial Intelligence. Thinkers like Hawking and
Musk have expressed concerns about "super" artificial intelligence that is intelligence
that could equate or exceed that of a human. Even today proto AI (not fully AI but beta
versions of AI) examples are creating problems for humans. Robotic AIs are taking over
our jobs and increasing unemployment at an ever extreme rate.
Some thinkers also believe that AI intelligent enough could possibly outrage human
race. A dominant “super” intelligence could conclude that human survival is an
unnecessary risk to them or a waste of resources, which would actually pose a risk to
mankind. Any substantial progress in AI could someday result in irrecoverable global
catastrophe.
One of the reason why everyone believe that AI will outrun us is because of our basic
nature towards another creatures. Humans have well-developed brains and distinctive
capabilities which allow to be dominate other creatures. Dominant Intelligence and
smartness, even helps us to control tigers and elephants. In the same way, If AI
surpasses humanity in general intelligence and becomes "super” intelligent, then it
could become powerful and difficult to control, hence ultimately ruling over humans
and may be much probable extinction. This hypothetical scenario is referred by
scientists as “Intelligence Catastrophe”.
