Title: CIA bot for gavin's bitcoin branch on github
Post by: genjix on January 05, 2011, 07:05:05 PM
Hey,

Can you setup CIA for your branch?

Click Admin on the github project page.
Then click Service Hooks.
Click CIA in the list
Check [X] Active

Now go to http://cia.vc and create an account.
Create a new repository and enter the info (for website URL write https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin.git)
Click Bots, Add bot and choose an IRC channel.

It should work now. Everytime you push to your repo then #bitcoin-dev will get a commit summary + url to a diff for review.

We can all know what's going on.

Somehow I was thinking about a different CIA...

CIA...  sounds scary!

I'll make it post to #bitcoin-dev

By the way: I cleaned up the SourceForge project a bit today, adding a pointer to the Technical Support forum here for support and shutting off some unused features.

Before i opened the topic i was thinking that CIA is officially tracking bitcoin repositories activity, and when i read the topic i was like "wtf is going on here".

OP got me scared.

It's called CIA because it was originally written to "keep an eye on Subversion" ;) Nowadays it supports other VC systems of course.

It's cool to see CIA is still going and useful to people. I was one of the guys who created it, though I don't think any of my old code remains.

Came across this thread looking for news about Gavin's visit.

It is funny to see the joking about the real CIA's interest in Bitcoin here when now it is all quite true.

I do think it is a good thing that the CIA invited Gavin to present.

Thanks for sharing with the community, Gavin!
