Yes, it's the fastest way to get your account back and the only way. But, expect to wait a few months because account recovery doesn't seem to be high priority and there's only Cyrus and theymos who are capable of recovering the account for you.

If you don't get a reply in 2 weeks, send another one and continue to do that every fortnight.

Can a moderator give the account quest a temp ban to prevent more damage?

Hello! I bought this account about three months ago for 0.02432 btc on October 14, 2017! If you once sold the account and want to return it to the wrong address! It's very mean of you to do this! To the message I enclose the proof of purchase of the account!

I just wanted to quote this in case he decides to delete the fact he said
that he bought this hacked account.

Do you have proof that it was sold? Cause from where I set, If he can prove his ownership, You're SOL. The hacking and

This is not an hacked account, it's an honestly bought account. And you are not an honest man, you sold your account, sat for three months and did nothing, and then saw your btc address in messages and decided that you can take it away from me.
 I do not need a negative trust install, it must be installed to you!

The date of registration of your "bought" account is 2013 and the bitcointalk hack happened 2015 so, assuming that the account details were comprimised and sold all over the internet and you might bought an hacked account and also if the DT members discovered that your account was bought you might negged

This is unbelievable. The guy buys a stolen account and throws a hissy fit when the legitimate owner takes action to get it back

If he is a honest person he would not have deleted my post with my btc address after i openend this topic.

So, i am not sure how my account got compromised. Maybe used the recovery option as i did not change that....

Looks like the account was hacked and hacker sold it to current holder of the account. Current account holder deleted all my post staking my BTC address just after i opened this topic and send him a PM with the link to this topic...  :-X

I was wondering if you left feedback and if you did why did you remove it. Either way, this still warrants a negative in my opinion as it's a purchased account but I don't think I'll remove it even if the original owner gets it back, though the way admin's process account recoveries here there's not much chance of that.

So didn't you take any precautions before the account ? Did they provide you signed messages before buying an account ? Who contacted first on bitcointalk about the account sale ? I'm pretty sure you would have messaged them on bitcointalk first,if so which was the profile involved ? And stop ignoring my questions,the account is useless now anyway.

Oh, my God, what's going on. Why are people so evil. My account has been hacked too and still no answer from admins!!!! Today the same person hacked my mail too becaurs I locked bitcointalk account but mail support works great. They already unlocked my account.

My account was hacked on Saturday, I had email notification firstly of a password change, then of an email address change (from my own to sergun1646@yandex.ru). Fortunately that notification email comes with a locking link that lets you shut down the account so at least the scammer's been locked out of it, but as I've not used the forum for any sort of trading I don't think I'll have any signatures, etc. that can be used to verify it as mine, so I've had to create another (this one).

We have to wait for admin to recover accounts. I think he received a lot of recover request. Would be good to see what date the last account was recovered.

There kinda is now. Accounts require email conformation to change details and you can lock them if it wasn't you that initiated it. Have you got a response from Cyrus?

I've been waiting three months, and I don't know how long waiting.

To be honest i think that it is likely that admin won't recover accounts. Only a few are recovered in the last months.

Didnt you secure the account with hardest and  full character counted password? If not then it was bound to happen.
