It's definitely possible for a certain cryptocurrency to attain this level of adoption. Is it guaranteed though? Definitely not. Who knows? The sort of "global currency" probably wouldn't even be decentralized, probably something like PayPal. Also, who knows? If it we're to be a decentralized cryptocurrency, it might not even be bitcoin. It's just pretty early to say for sure.

Well one currency in a  one world is really didnt exist or not done through rather,I think this things is really hard to happen because we are really living in a differrent country with a differrent rule and in a different ways of law .We are living in a one world with a different country and with a different government tahtvis why i really didnt believe that one world one currency didnt really exist .

I dont think that ripple or xrp will be like that in the future but no one realy know about it. Bitcoin more popular than any other altcoin in the market there so many company that already started to accept bitcoin so i dont think if ripple of xrp can do like bitcoin do.

all that is not necessarily if in my opinion, bitcoin is quite difficult if to become the world currency, because each country has its own currency and have their own opinions. so to apply it is easy and difficult to take a long time as well.

I don't believe in it. Bitcoin won't be a worldwide currency due to several reasons:
1) It costs hell a lot, so newbies will hardly invest in it;
2) It's still not accepted everywhere:
3) It has some disadvantages comparing to altcoins (like missing altcoin support, etc.) that slow down the development of infrastructure.

A big Noooo...

Making micro transactions is very expensive right now and only suitable for larger transactions and we can't wait for hours to get confirmation when paying in coffee shop with bitcoin. So definitely bitcoin will not be the only one crypto which will be used as mode of payment in the whole world. It is more like store of wealth like gold right now while other alts with faster confirmation and less fee might be used as suitable payment method for micro transactions.

However if there will be lightening network in bitcoin, than yes bitcoin can capture majority of payment processor market.

Not possible, maybe bitcoin could be one global currency but it would never be used to pay goods or something that we need everyday, not with the actual fees that we are paying at the moment.

You mean Bitcoin -- or any other cryptocurrency for that matter -- replacing all the fiat currencies in the world?

Not going to happen. At least not within our lifetimes.

Currencies are much more than just a means of payment or value transactions. They are a reflection of the local economies and the sovereign states that issue them. Bitcoin may very well become a globally accepted means of payments like credit cards, existing side by side with fiat currencies, but I doubt that it'll displace fiat currencies any time soon.

I honestly doubt that even the concept of one global currency, that is shared by all, is possible any time soon. There's too many cultural differences and too much conflict of interest to achieve something even close to a one world currency.

Utterly impossible. First of all, the world is composed of too many countries with different government, culture, tradition, currency and economic status. In order for the world to become one and to agree in only one kind of currency, they have to have a united agreement to change these differences. However, looking at the economic status of every countries, it is impossible. Just try imagining how the Third World countries will tie up with the First world countries in terms of its economy, in order to adopt whatever currency will be decided upon.

Bitcoin cannot even pass as a mode of payment because of high transaction fee and long confirmation time. Maybe someday this will be solved but then, to become the "only currency" in the whole world? That is far-fetched. Do you think the great countries like USA, China, and others will allow that their fiat phased out? No way.

It is impossible to whole world. Different set of peoples are available in the world in every people to use Bitcoin is not possible. But Bitcoin will grow up not completely. In our world few of the peoples are only used in cryptocurrency. Because cryptocurrency has many drawbacks in the world. It is not a physical money this is main drawback. when it will create a physical currency that time we should consider this currency is a only one.

Bitcoin is unlikely to ever be the only global currency that will be used worldwide as a means of payment. First, with such volatility, no state wants to completely switch to the use of bitcoins. Secondly, in order to have a common currency, even a digital one, states must conclude a certain agreement, and for this, there should not be political, economic or other conflicts between them. As we can see throughout the history of our entire civilization, this has never happened.

If US had introduced bitcoin instead of satoshi nakamoto then there was a chance. But now there is no chance that bitcoin will be the only single digital currency in the world. There are many altcoins popping up and also with added features. Bitcoin has gone way far for people that it is not even possible to earn some bitcoins anymore.

Now it is difficult to say whether bitcoin will be a worldwide active means of payment. There are prerequisites for this, but there are enough obstacles. And only time will tell how it will actually be.

In my own view, cryptocurrency lead by Bitcoin and Ethereum is poised to be more popular as years go by but I don't believe that we can achieve a world currency system because of this. There are so many factors and variables involved and I also believe that the idea of 'one world one currency' will not be that beneficial actually to humanity. Just look at the fragile situation right now in Europe years after they adopted the Euro...it is not working well because not all economies are on the same level; each economy has its own strength and weaknesses and these things are reflected in the national currency you take that away and something will not be working at the end. Now, let's look at cryptocurrency. Bitcoin right now has myriad of problems all because just like any man-made innovation it can never be perfect as long as it is still manned by human beings with our human nature. I mean the technology and the capacity for innovations are there but politicking is taking the initiatives away. Decentralization has its own limits and when human nature sets in there would always be humps and bumps along the way.

Do you believe all humans of the world regardless of religion, race, creed or color can live in perfect harmony with one government that represents the interests of all people equally? This would be a world where no one broke any laws. There would be no need for anyone to hide money from the government. That means there would be no illegal drug use, no terrorism, no political corruption, no pandering of any kind (hidden prostitution, child sexual abuse, etc.), equality of wealth (including access to health care, medications, food, water, etc.).

That would have to happen first.  I think maybe Donald Trump (leader of the free world) would have to leave office first. Oh, and all of his mental defective supporters would have to die off. I’m thinking that may take a couple of more years. LOL

No I do not think because bitcoin would never be able to handle all the people world.  Look how it is because of the interest in the last month or so.

The currency that I believe will dominate in the future will be the ADA coin from the Cardano project.

Their project covers all the main issues that currently reside with Bitcoin and 2nd Generation currencies such as Ethereum.

Watch their video,  the Cardano White Board overview with Charles Hoskinson and you will see clearly what I mean.

I think there is no currency even bitcoin or ethereum or even your Cardano which would be a revolution over fiat. Reason is simple and that is the decentralized nature. No Govt. would agree to operate in a decentralized economy infact the whole motive of govt. is useless in case of a such an economy. Without govt. there will be nothing in the economy for the less fortunate there fore it means zero development can't really imagine such an economy to be practical.

I can not say for sure, but most likely some kind of crypto currency will become universal and will compete on a par with the dollar. It is not excluded that this will be bitcoin, but for some reason it seems to me that this will be another crypto currency, which one, I can not yet say. Bitcoin is too unstable, like any crypto currency, so the dollar will be replaced by a currency that will have a stable exchange rate.

One: I don't believe it will ever happen. Two: This is not possible even in future far from today. Look, we still value our bitcoins by comparing it with other currencies. This would not change for a long time. Say it had changed in everyone's thoughts, even so it's still impossible. If something like this happen then the government will have no control over the economy. It will be a catastrophe.

Bitcoin is already a currency acceptable around the world but for it to become the only currency we have globally I think that's quite impossible to happen because of the fact that bitcoin supply is limited I don't think it can sustain the growinh demand, another thing is that not every one can be able to access bitcoin especially those who belongs to the lower class of the economy and digital currencies will be difficult for them to understand

The currency of a country is as individualistic and unique a symbol of its economy as its national flag, which marks its independence and sovereignty. On account of the fact that different countries have their own geopolitical, religious and demographic background.

There are many different poeple in the world with different beliefs so it would be impossible that everyone would adopt the same currency. Currently USD is the most near thing that we can find as a dominant currency due to the protagonic role of USA in the world economy. However coz the huge problems that is experimenting BTC with the fees, I see pretty difficult that in the future it will be the currency of the Earth.

While i believe in bitcoins as a potential currency of the future. The only real issue is that i doubt it will become a world coin as you mentioned. The reason it will never become a world coin is due to the fact that  no countries have the same goals for their currencies. Also people like to use currencies as a way of power so lets day the united states would not want to have same currency value as lets say India.

One currency usage around the globe will make the administrative functions much easier, as well a uniformity. The same will not be agreed by governments, because economic growth happens in a diversified manner. Now as different countries have got traditional currency with varied value system the economic growth gets varied.

I really love to see bitcoin become the one world currency, unfortunately that is not possible, for currency the value need to be more stable and with the limited amount of bitcoin and the amount of the users, we will see a very fluctuative price which is not suitable to be used for big transactions, and bitcoin also is not a perfect coin, it still got flaw, it will be better  if we got more option of crypto to be use in global transaction

Most certainly not, and not because the bitcoin does not have the ability but for the culture of the people, it would have to succes a global economic crisis for this to be a reality and even then it does not guarantee that there are no sabotages, that is, governments wanting to control or damage it, since economists do not like it because it is a volatile currency.

It is going to be difficult but it could happen. However, I am afraid it will not happen too soon. It is going to be hard firstly because the rest of the world has not yet entered the digital age. Some others have not even held a computer yet in their entire life. Some others are not yet even aware that there is such a thing as a smart phone. Not even to mention the political hurdles it has to go through. So I think it will be very hard to happen.

Some even look for Bitcoin to buy / sell for big profit. The rapid growth of Bitcoin in the last decade also made one of these crypto currency types predicted to replace the conventional currency.

I don't think bitcoin is just a small currency right now. It market capacity and price is higher than any currency in the world. The problem is that our government just ignore this and won't consider bitcoin as a currency as well.

The bitcoin digital currency attracts internet users around the world, in fact bitcoin can be used as a purchase or transfer of funds worldwide without having to go through bank prosecutors, credit cards or government authorities. already many world companies are receiving bitcoin, bitcoin is traded and transferred like traditional money through a trading company. transactions made without a third party or government, now bitcoin became the world's first fully decentralized digital currency

bitcoin as a crypto currency is very likely bitcoin to be a means of payment around the world, but this should be supported by a good banking system, and there is a strong control to monitor it

I think it is impossible to have just one currency in the whole wide world. But it is possible if bitcoin is can be use as mode of payment. We can't have the same currency in the different country like for example in the Philippines the Philippine money value is very low than the USD thats why we can't have a same currency. Its just my opinion. :)

Yes I agree bitcoin can really become a main currency that is accepted globally with this new technology of digital currency some countries are now starting to adopt bitcoin though some do not completely go all in with bitcoin still they support the market with some exchanges and banks starting to accept bitcoin, the involvement of online shopping that accepts bitcoin as a mode of payments marks the start of the new era in world currency.

I don't think so. Bitcoin has to rise to such a position, at least to be recognized by all countries, and many countries are not very supportive of bitcoin. I'm more inclined to be a currency than the dollar. This may be the best result.

No, I don't think so. I guess there are will only two methode of payment. Offline payment which use gold and silver only and online payment which use cryptocurrency only as representation of gold and silver. I am sure that we will not use paper money anymore.

It's not possible. Think about how to accept your electronic money in those backward and poor areas where they don't even have the Internet. In their place, and gold is valuable currency. Bitcoin is likely to be popular in developed countries and regions, and I think the first is to pay for shopping.

One currency one world - it's the Utopia's ideal world for sure. However, it's quite a challenging task, because it's going to face many obstacles and difficulties on the way. Beside of Bitcoin, there are still many other alt coins that is more suitable to use as global digital currency (such as dogecoin)

Fiat currency is going to be eliminated sooner or later, just the matter of time...

BITCOIN has established its name. People trust this coin. Like, right now in Japan, they have stores where people can buy using BTC. Countries all over the world will start using it. Not too many people are financially literate nor aware of Bitcoin. People are still curious about it, and the room for growth is still quite high! So, it's not impossible!

The possibility of Bitcoin to be the only one world global currency is extreme and far-fetched. Every country in the world has its own economic setup dictating its own currency. The very nature of Bitcoints to be a decentralized crypto-currency goes against the acceptance as one global currency by the individual governments. To govern a country, they will not naturally accept the decentralized economic freedom offered by BTC and rule out the technology and the capacity for innovations. Even though it has been accepted by a few first world countries in their payment system, there are far more third world countries who need to constantly fight for existence. Hence, BTC is still not accepted there.

Even, in the level of micro transactions it is even more difficult as we can't wait for hours to get confirmation when paying in coffee shop with bitcoin. This concept didn’t really exist before. Presently, it acts more like store of wealth like gold right now. At this level what is required is faster confirmation and less fee might be used as suitable payment method for micro transactions. The pricing in Bitcoin is still too unstable, like any other crypto currency. Hence, to replace dollar we will need a currency that will have a much more stable exchange rate.

The way we cannot believe all humans of the world regardless of religion, race, creed or color to be able to live in perfect harmony with one government that represents the interests of all people equally. Similarly, it is still impossible to believe in the one world global economy (BTC) to replace every individual economic setup.

I don´t see one token as the "One True Coin" to rule them all. BTC obviously can´t function as a payment for daily stuff and most (all) of the contenders have their problem. I believe in crypto and blockchain, but I find it more likely that we will use different currencies via one/several platforms. Though.. Vertcoin is the closest, according to me, to Satoshis vision of what BTC should have been :)

Bitcoin becoming the one and only currency used for any kinds of transactions in the world? No, it is just not possible, even if it is possible the chance of this to happen would be easily equal to zero. There are more than 180 independent countries in existence in our world and for all of them to accept bitcoin as their currency would not be possible at all. There are some countries which actually banned bitcoins too, so bitcoin becoming the one and only currency is kind of an impossible task.

One Currency, One world would be a dream come true for those who wish to tame the world and run it "in the most efficient way possible" for their benefit.

It is important to have diverging viewpoints and diverging interests to keep stuff moving. We need to learn to live together with our differences intact, not by removing those differences and making everything homogeneous.

From how things are going at preset, the most it can be is to be a method of reliable value exchange on a global scale. What bitcoin does is that it enables you to keep something valuable without the fear of being stolen/ compromised. This value stays intact when you cross borders unlike your Zimbabwean dollars. That in itself would solve a lot of problems like:
1. Access to keep some sort of value secure for those fleeing war-zones as refugees.
2. Enable people to keep savings safe from stupid government ideas or plain dictatorships.
3. Enable easier exchange of goods and services within the boundaries of a country and later between countries.

For this last point to come true, we still need a lot of self-regularization (that doesn't seem to be working).
One currency, one world isn't necessarily a good thing.

Bitcoin is growing up in the past few years. It is too early to think it will replace the status of legal tender. I think the future of currency and encryption currency will not be too much competition, legal tender address is decided by the rights and interests of the group, it is not easy to shake. The future hopes that bitcoin can be combined with as many social projects as possible so that it will become more and more valuable.

Every important person that has some power to decide over local currencies would object against the single currency that could prevail. Bitcoin is the extroardinary coin and it had changed the internet market. Many people are turning toward it and they are adopting it as the decentralized currency as it is. World governments are managing with their original centralized values and banks are scheduled with the task to keep this centralized money. There would have been slight change in the world order for one currency to prevail over other currencies.

Of course, there are problems with the crypto currency service. Nevertheless, the trend is obvious - in bitcoin as a currency there is a huge potential which, under a certain scenario, can lead to the fact that these electronic money will be in demand all over the world, and bitcoin can become a single world currency.

Of course not. To believe that Bitcoin will become the only currency is illusion. Similar like to think that there will be no wars or poverty in this world and that everyone can live in peace and wellbeing.
Bitcoin wasn't ment to be like fiat currency. It can be used anywhere in the world but it will never be tied just to one country or one nation and unfortunately it can't unite the world. But it can make for financial system to change and that is already doing.

Imagine the hustle of converting your bitcoin or altcoin to cash, its not that easy.if they can do something about it, we can consider  bitcoin as currency, but for now its not possible to happen. Such coins help to overcome the barriers and limits and make everybody united under the flag of the same currency , not under land , beliefs , religions and color's flags . A global citizen will certainly need a global  currency that can satisfy it's needs anywhere and bitcoin is the 1st coin from the beginning of the universe to achieve that .

Also every country have their own fiat money which is more stable and are on the system for many years. Digital money is very different from fiat. Also, there are lots of cryptos, and many more will be released. Let see what the future brings and if the government will allow to have only one currenty that will be adopted in different parts of the world. But as i have said, it will be a very long process.

I do believe so. If bitcoins are now accepted as a worldwide medium for payment, sooner or later, the whole world will band together and end wars and stuffs. But I do believe bitcoins cam unite the world as a whole. Bitcoins serve as a unification of the whole cash system of the world.

Not exactly like that
It same like real money
Like US dollar can use in every where can accepted in every country
And Someday maybe every country have their own coin but bitcoin will be the "dollar" in crypto currency

For bitcoin, I don't think it's possible at all.
Governments do bot want to replace their fiat currency obviously, its better to ban bitcoin instead of let bitcoin dominate their official currency. Another problem, it's hard for bitcoin to reach scale implementation to afford so many transactions per second. Bitcoin supply is limited, can't meet the demand all over the world. Then, if bitcoin fail, all of those altcoins will fail as well.

The best thing that will happen can be the coexistence of both fiat and cryptocurrency. We can't just remove the old system right away. But bitcoin can go with fiat until everyone is completely content with bitcoin. Until no one uses fiat anymore.

Every country has currency diversity and would not let a single cuureny to be same. Thinking that it would only increase rate of criminality yet it sound pretty good because when it comes to traveling, it will surely be convenient knowing you would have nothing g to worry about payments.
Still, fiat and bitcoin can be a good tandem in usage if currencies. Complementing each other very well like what bitcoins and some altcoins do. I think with both all will run smoothly.

because we cant deny the fact that there are people who are not use in using new technologies or they don't have any intentions to do so.

If you are thinking that bitcoin will replacing fiat and all local paper money in the whole world then for me this is not possible because the most specific reason is that not all people in the world specially living in the third world countries dont know how bitcoin works in which many are poor in education. Unlike fiat that even children know hot to use it.

Bitcoin is a kind of currency where its value is decentralized wherever part of the world you are. This is the reason why many people predicted that in the future, bitcoin will be use worldwide as only one currency.  But, I doubt it will gonna happen.  It is very hard to change the culture of a certain place. Flat has been part of our culture in making any transaction.  Besides, it took many years to make all store technology ready to meet bitcoin standards.  Maybe in the future, bitcoin will be legalized and accepted worldwide and will be used as an alternative currency but not as only currency.

To become a global currency, you have to provide a lot of privilege regarding money support. Bitcoin is still struggling with a payment method, the price is too high to collect a Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not supporting all over the world yet. so that Bitcoin has to do more thing regarding becoming one currency in the one world.

I think it needs a lot of time, not only that but also Bitcoin should be accepted at first then Bitcoin will become a major currency in the world. But without regulation, it's really difficult to reach that dream.

I think currency is a factor that can highy increase unity in the world. So, having only one currency can definitely adjust everything such as the trades and transactions of mankind all over the world to the point that each and everyone will understand and relate to whatever it is that each and everyone is trading, buying, selling, investing, etc.

Hi there CryptoWorld87! I have a huge belief in bitcoin and its advantages in the and how blockchain technology disrupt the financial system. However, I can’t believe that a single crypto nor a single fiat could rule the world and become the only currency that can be used. Why, hundred years ago there are still no single currency that only used all over the world. There could be a dominant and universal currency, dollar in fiat and I how bitcoin in terms of cryptocurrency.   ;)

I absolutely agree with you. It’s really no easy for making bitcoin become the only one currencies. We all know clearly that there a part of every contries all over the world using bitcoin, there even many people don’t know how to use well the techonological machine so also have many people don’t know anything about bitcoin. All of us use fiat currency like an inherent habbit, it’s hard for them to adapt to this. Although I honestly want to use bitcoin for buying many things as fiat currency, it never happens. Nowadays, there have some countries uses bitcoin transaction to buy coffee, clothes… however it seems an extra currency, not official. Therefore, I believe bitcoin will not become only one currency in the whole world.

Actually, I believe in this thought as well. Having only one and common currency is a good start for the world to have unity. The affectionate level of every man will increase to the point that they'll sympathize with people because they would understand how valuable is lost to someone since they happen to have the same currency which have the same value.

That't highly unlikely. There are quite a lot of decent alternative coins including some Bitcoin forks, and it is not even certain that Bitcoin will remain the No. 1 coin in the future. Some may even argue that Bitcoin won't be able to survive in that future but it remains to be seen. Whatever the opinions, the competition in the crypto world is undoubtedly heating up.

The problem is that this is a tough transition. At the dawn of paper money, it certainly was not easy - the villagers may have said something of the sort: "Do you want me to give you my cow against this ?!"Probably no new kind of money will succeed without officially being supported by a (big) state - although Bitcoin is trying to be a supranational currency.

At present, it appears that implementing a single currency worldwide would be highly impractical. Indeed, the prevailing theory is that a mixed approach is more desirable. In certain areas, such as Europe, gradually adopting a single currency may lead to considerable advantages. But for other areas, trying to force a single currency would likely do more harm than good.

This is unrealistic, there will never be one currency for the whole world. Having only one currency for the whole world will lead to many hazards. First, the application of exchange rates to the world would be unfair to countries because the currency represents the development of that country. It is possible that the future cryptocurrency will be the international currency, people will use it next to the offline currency at the present time to trade. It will become a popular form of online payment in the future, replacing all intermediate payment gateways at the present time.

one currency one world can be possible. but it will take time.in underdeveloped and developing country their systems are yet to be digitalized.
people needs to access internet.they need to learn it.in my country people can hardly use internet properly. only educated and job holder of the city use credit card.in the village they don't know  what is credit card.what it does.and  more than 95% of the people don't know what is bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
In most of the country bitcoin is illegal, we don't know whether they make it legal or not. if they do they then it has to be popular.
so the dream of one currency one word is far far away from today.

I think it's possible that bitcoin would become the only crypto currency. Why not? After all, he is very well thought out, and has really great influence in the world. Let's see after a while whether this will happen.

I don't think this would happen in the near future because even now there are altcoins that are competing bitcoin and are also decentralized. The more possible thing to happen is cryptocurrency replacing fiat currency.

altcoins have also their own usage and they also had their own blockchain but bitcoin is the most mainstream here when it come to cryptocurrency that is why bitcoin has the only chance to be used as a multi currency tool or universal currency that can be used online and ofline all over the world although it might take time to happen due to the fact that bitcoin is not yet accepted and legalize on some parts of the world and also bitcoin has still alot of issues and problems that needs to be fix and improve as soon as possible in order for it to called the best digital curency.

No it cannot happen, There are credit cards and bitcoin is also a digital currency that's why we can use  btc as a mode of payment. Maybe in the future, There will be no fiat anymore because technology is growing so fast and if bitcoins is still existing then it will be the global currency nation wide.

As time goes by, people will become more modern and more knowledge and intelligent when it comes in new modern things. According to what I watch few months ago or last year 2017 bitcoin is only road to the more modern currency which is can be use by all people. It is chips that can be implanted in the pore head or in the hands which is the only payment that can be use intire the world. It will be called One World Government, One money one Government.

This is not possible ;) but already going on this thing , You can see the history news about bitcoin where people were using at very wide level to use bitcoin for transaction of money .But to stop such things many government made many rules and taxation system to regualate it and few stopped it .
Bit now after long time many countries legalised it and made everything full of tax to pay for such things .So here your slogan one currency one world is right but due to regualtion people are using it less for worldwide ,but ofcourse people has much ease to use bitcoin for worldwide transaction .

That's not possible if bitcoin is the only money that can be used for transactions. Slow bitcoin transaction will affect the purchase of small items. The very limited number of bitcoins will not be enough to meet the demand of the whole world.

That is not possible because Bitcoin has a limited pool that will eventually drain. We could speculate that if Bitcoin and altcoins will both contribute in the same way then maybe it would be a large enough flow that could cover the global economy, but there is also a possibility that it might fail to do so.

It is difficult to entire world. Bitcoin can't be mistaken for a method of installation as a result of high exchange charge. Bitcoin is so volatile currency, no state wants to totally change to the use of Bitcoins. When it will make a physical cash that time we should consider this currency is the one currency of one world.

I agree with your points. Very few countries would actually be willing to use bitcoin as their main source of payment in place of physical fiat currencies. It would take a miracle for majority of the countries around the world to accept bitcoin and allow their citizens to use it as an alternative source of payment currently. Truth is that bitcoin is being adopted around the world at a slow and steady pace and more and more countries will come forward to accept this coin as the crypto world continues to grow with time. Patience is required in this case.

One currency, One world is definitely needed for sustainable progress of economies. But i dont think that its practically possible. Despite the increasingly global nature of commerce, the economies of each nation throughout the world still differ significantly and require different management. Subjecting all countries to one monetary policy would likely lead to policy decisions which would benefit some countries at the expense of others.

Under a global currency, this type of aggressive management of a national economy would not be possible. Monetary policy could not be enacted on a country by country basis. Rather, any change in monetary policy would have to be made at the worldwide level.

We are all hoping that the future will bring us something new that will change the course the things are evolving. There are many currencies in the world and with the coming of even more decentralized currencies, people are not sure what currency will prevail in the future. Right now the world is very well organized and even with the mass of the currencies that are out there, there are the currencies that we can call the main payment systems because they have proven their value. The Bitcoin has brought the new way of the payments that aren't favorable by all people but I believe that in the far future situation with one currency can happen. There will be the online system for sure and Bitcoin can come to the point when it will prevail over everything else.

That's a technical problem, and I don't think it's particularly different form what card providers do anyway. Instantly fast transactions with crypto are certainly possible, it is just a matter of living up to that. Right now you should use Bitcoin payment cards which are linked to your wallet for fiat conversions, but if the merchants start truly accepting crypto, fiat can be removed from the equation entirely with crypto used instead.

If this currency doesn't belong to just one country or only to a small group of people, I don't see any reason why it won't be used everywhere if it proves itself useful and efficient. We already use the same Internet and live in the same informational space. So why can't there be a universal currency?

Bitcoin is unlikely to ever be the only global currency that will be used worldwide as a means of payment. First, with such volatility, no state wants to completely switch to the use of bitcoins. Secondly, in order to have a common currency, even a digital one, states must conclude a certain agreement, and for this, there should not be political, economic or other conflicts between them. As we can see throughout the history of our entire civilization, this has never happened

I agree that with this level of volatility no one is going to use Bitcoin in the real world. But I can't agree that there must be an agreement or covenant between states. If Bitcoin or some other crypto gets widely accepted in a lot of countries, it will become a worldwide means of payment on its own. You don't need to sign an international treaty with a foreign party to use a cryptocurrency simply because it knows no borders.

Bitcoin is already a currency for circulation around the world. However, the only such currency, he probably never will. In order for this to happen, it is necessary that all countries conclude a certain agreement, such as the European Union, but on a global scale. Now there are too many disagreements between the states, and therefore the conclusion of such an agreement is almost impossible. So while bitcoin will continue to walk in our world for a long time as one of the many types of currencies, where in the mode of the best blogging, and where and direct prohibition.

That would be the perfect solution. The problem is that the amount of BTC will be insufficient for all people. We only have 21kk of them, and people in the world are 7.5kkk. It will not work.

I don't agree that it would be good solution, states will not be able to control it and it might lead to not so good constituencies.

Even though  a decentralized currency is the best for the entire world, no one will go for it.

The exchange rate of the currency in each country can also be a problem.

For me it's uncertain or rather impossible. Do you think it could replace fiat?  Lol and to think that it is a one world one currency thing 😂
Don't get too carried away just because of its growing adaption and others assumption on its future

It's hard to predict what will happen and what won't happen. To replace fiat it really needs to pass a long road ahed. Simply because people trust fiat, people know that their money is safe with banks. Imagine some people who come here and because of lack of knowledge they lose their coins, or they haven't kept their private key safe. Imagine their actions and frustrations - with banks if something happen there might be a way for you at least in some sums of money that your money is lets say "safe". But here without middleman some people are finding it even harder to manage their finances. There really have to pass long time if we even see this flipping fiat to crypto

While I definitely agree with your post, I still must point out that there are more trivial causes which hinder further adoption of crypto in the financial world. Crypto is still not on par with fiat even on purely technical grounds. While Bitcoin is slow and expensive, some altcoins are fast and cheap transaction-wise, but we don't really know how good they will be under real stress and heavy load, and whether they won't turn into another freakishly slow Bitcoin.

No, never... even in the mere future I really don't think that, that was possible. If the world is divided into several countries with the government who controls them and have their own currency, how could it be possible to have only one currency? If the currency is centralized then maybe that was quite possible but if it is decentralized, that was not possible at all. It's like asking a question as to when will be the exact time for our whole world to unite and have peace.  ;D

I don't think there will ever be a global consensus on bitcoin and it's network because we almost wake up everyday to meet one fork or the other and many are doing their own thing instead of supporting the core devs and so these differences makes it difficult for the entire world to settle on bitcoin as their currency.

Bitcoin can be said as the most widely used digital currency because it has a popularity and a very high level of trust compared to other digital currencies. Altcoin also is a fairly digitized digital currency, but now Altcoin still can not beat Bitcoin as the most commonly used digital currency. So it's normal when almost everyone in the world uses Bitcoin as a tool of financial transactions compared to Altcoin.

I think it is plausible but then again I do not think governments worldwide will subscribe to this because it will do harm to the level of control they desire. This may also cause chaos especially so that there will only be one currency to look after. Criminals may use this heavily to propagate their illegal causes because they can conveniently make a copy of this concerning the lax circulation of the same currency worldwide. Sovereign States will have no edge over the other when it comes to controlling the circulation of money thus doing harm to their respective national economies. If this happens, I see control in ONE State alone because that State (and all others) would necessarily create measures that will bind ALL States to an international agreement as regards the rules in the circulation of currency. So you see, it is plausible but it will definitely bring about too much political agenda.

Just like other dollar, we can use it everywhere as a basic means of exchange. It is not excluded that this will be bitcoin, but for some reason it seems to me that this will be another crypto currency, which one, I can not yet say. Bitcoin is too unstable, like any crypto currency, so the dollar will be replaced by a currency that will have a stable exchange rate.

Bitcoin is to volatile to be a world currency but Bitcoin is the father of all the coins wich will crack down the banking system wich is getting rich richer and the poor poorer by "stealing"money from the government.

When you apply for a mortgage the banks get the money almost for free from the government and they charge you 2 -5% anual for long term based.
But the problem is that the government has get these money from you again because these money is funded from the taxes you pay.

When the bears stop to sell bitcoins and bitcoin is not manipulated by the future exchanges than it will become stronger and stronger.

What a wonderful caption that means one currency,is a one world,if this happen will all of us become united in the name of virtual currency, but this is only impossible because every country have its own traditional currency and different opinion and vision about digital currency and maybe other country would not agree to cryptocurrency become the world digital coin, because its not regulated and while other country have not know  about this cryptocurrency ,because its ran though a internet, and other country is so  far from the technology like  those who belong in third world.

It is true. It is impossible. In such a situation, one central bank would have to be. A huge problem would be currency conversion of everything.

Well one currency in a  one world is really didnt exist or not done through rather,I think this things is really hard to happen because we are really living in a differrent country with a differrent rule and in a different ways of law .We are living in a one world with a different country and with a different government tahtvis why i really didnt believe that one world one currency didnt really exist .

yes i agree with you mate.
one currency will be impossible within many different country which has very different thinking.
cryptocurrency specially bitcoin might be exist as online payment but its here not to change the all fiat and become the only one curreny.

I truly believe in bitcoin and in all of its aspect. Knowing how it could change a living I know tgat somehow it could change the way people think. Not in a manner we don't want but in the aspect of living. Sometimes I always think of it as a good thing to aid poverty and of course to be use as a universal transaction for any currency. One world, one currency.

It will happen if many countries support bitcoin, what if there is still one country that prohibits bitcoin. If to be a means of payment, there must be a law that regulates it.

But which is still a problem, whether it can all countries in this world receive crypto currency as a legal payment tool?

In the past, I believe Bitcoin will be able to be the world-first currency. However, due to how human works for the past thousand years, I do not believe there is going to be any world-first currency. Humans like to compete and some countries may (or have already) ban the use of Bitcoin.

Even paypal who exist longer than bitcoin but not as world currency yet.
Bitcoin is to young become a world currency so its too early to speak world currency regarding bitcoin.
I dont think any currency can claim its a world currency without legalize from all country.

The Bitcoin does not care about being global. Assumptions are good but we love decentralization so it is impossible for academically trained people to swallow the product of Computer Science as simple as that.

Bitcoin will never become the new currency and the only mode of payment in the world. Many countries are still resisting to the idea of Bitcoin. First world countries may adapt to the changes in the digital word but those third world countries may find it difficult to go on with Bitcoin. Bitcoin still have many challenges to face and issues that need to be solved. Establishment can't even afford to pay the high transaction fees.

Bitcoin is real money and bitcoin is a universal currency that's why bitcoin is accepted in all country in the world but you talk about bitcoin will be the only one currency that are using  by all  country I think its impossible maybe bitcoin is the alternative money of all country but they are also contenue using their respective money and they distinguish because of its money.

I do not think this will ever happen. Even if it is more effective and efficient altcoin. Power, greed and pride will be factors for this. Even with un they cannot see eye to eye. How much more a currency they did not come up with and cannot control

No, I don't think so. We have different governments (and laws) running each of our countries and there is no way they're gonna let a single currency to be used as mode of payment, much less a decentralized one which they cannot control. They can regulate it but I don't see it becoming a universal currency to replace all of fiat currencies around the world. The government will rather make their own cryptocurrency if that will be the case.

I think it is not easy and impossible for the world to relies on one currency and the bitcoin is the digital currency So it is difficult for the developing and less developed countries of the world. Bitcoin is good for us and those who have some knowledge of the crypto they can invest i these currencies for the future.

For me I do not really believe it for now but I like that to happen. But before that to happen I like Bitcoin to fix everything. Make transaction fee lower. Transaction will be faster with the same amount of fee. More ATM's for Bitcoin and it will be legalized anywhere in the world. How can it be a future currency when it's still banned in some part of the world.
Imagine a future which is paperless? Don't have any cash to bring. Just bring your cellphone or just log-in your account and pay in just one click. Awesome.

It is really possible to happen in the future because everything in this world is changing to adapt and so the currency also. Bitcoin has the power to become the only currency to be used in the future because bitcoin is so popular and influential globally. Bitcoin has the characteristic to become the father of the new currency. Bitcoin is the only digital coin to reach a 10k USD value. Bitcoin has no limit if you just believe in the power and its potential.

No, it will be impossible that Bitcoin will become the only currency than can be use as a mode of payment. Physical money would still be the main currency to use. The world will not get away from physical money because it is the basis of each nation in controlling their economy. Also, bitcoin is not regulated nor control and even the transaction fees are really high. I still believe that Bitcoin shall remain as an asset rather than a currency.,

so much stupidity in this forum

no there will never be a single currency worldwide, controlled by a single instance, and even if it cant be imposed on the world without violence, people will always try to resist.

the us dollar that is currency globally accepted only has such wide spread because american military soldiers, are still listening on US dollar funded propaganda, and the elites around the gulf that sell the major oil for shipment globally, accept the us dollar for oil.

Hehe ;D Sounds like Illuminati? I'm just kidding. I don't agree because first, many countries are experiencing power outtages so local fiat is still reliable on that situation and second, having different value of money is good for the world's ecosystem.

This is so impossible to happen because we already used to use different kinds of currency in each or every nation and that is why there will be no possibility for the world to have one currency because it is hard to balance the world's economy if we will just depending in one currency, we are good at different currencies and we don't need to have only one.

Nope. It cannot become the only one currency in the world. Bitcoin is great, but there are altcoins that have the bigger potential than BTC. I am talking about Ethereum and NEO. They are faster and offer more possibilities.

Practically introduce a single crypto currency in the whole world as a single form of payment, it is impossible. It's like calling for peace throughout the world. And military conflicts continue to flare up in one place or in another place. A single crypto currency in the whole world actually means the unification of the economies of all countries into one single global global economy. It is impossible to do this in the near future. In each country there are economic interests and contradictions that do not allow it to be done.

I believe that one day bitcoin will be the world currency. Although bitcoin is still new, it become most popular cryptocurrency of all time,it is very expensive but it can be divided into 8 decimal places so you cant buy one whole bitcoin then buy a percent of it.

I do not believe that bitcoin has the capacity to absorb most of the economic transactions that take place in the world in its ecosystem, so I think it is time to start leaving behind the ideal of a bitcoin displacing the dominant financial system of today and be satisfied that bitcoin has the ability to survive the arrival of more advanced cryptocurrencies.
