Title: GPU mining and the rise of quantum computers
Post by: SaintFlow on July 07, 2011, 03:17:44 PM
Hello my fellow Coinnoobs that like me have to whitewash themselfs since the
ristrictions of the great bubble related trolling where imposed.

Firstoff i am a smalltime miner myself 580 Mhas/s and right now am not thinking that
i might reach profit any time soon - to much difficulty.

I am still fascinated about the potential of all this and will certainly not dump my coins
anytime some guy screams sell sell sell.
Every crisis bitcoin so far had only showed its resilence.
And I liked that.

Now i am wondering however what will happen after GPU mining.
I expect that at some point dedicated custom silicon will jump in
and eat the small miners pie because of its pure efficency.

And my biggest nightmare:
At some point in the next decade quantum computers might step in
and once the proper software is written they will just mine the hell out
of the coins that are left to be generated - or even worse:
crack the crypto that todays best supercomputers only dream of touching.

Gentleminers and Ladydiggers
what do you think?
