Big jump in price in the last hour

What a ride Bitcoin is

Seems to have stabilised around £11,000, lets see if it holds it this time as a new floor.

Nice little jump up to almost $15K
actually all the top 10 has gone green on bittrex,
Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Moneto, Dash, its all good  ;D

Still not convinced that this is the new floor yet, but I think the sub $10,000 threat is getting smaller.

Power of BTC. While Bitcoin went up all the altcoins went down to the Bitcoin. Bitcoin remains the most attractive investment, once it starts grow everyone will buy BTC.

Them slot machines sure are quiet when punters put money in them but make a hell of a
noise when they pay money out and most of the players go home in the end with empty

No kidding, but the network fees are still killing it for me.  Right now I own about $5 worth of bitcoin and I couldn't spend it if I wanted to.  Not trying to be a party pooper, but I've frickin' had it with transaction times and fees.  Money shouldn't work this way, IMO.

Honestly, I was sure that the bit in the price of bitcoin will be earlier, and many people this jump will be useful, because those who kept money in bitcoin received dividends. It is important to understand that as long as the bitcoin rate is not stable, it will not be able to compete with the old-timers of currency markets, now of course the bitcoin leader is among all the crypto currency, but if we want bitcoins to eclipse the dollar, first of all its course should stabilize.

High variance can be a good thing sometimes :p

The CEO of PayPal bought aproximately 16 million dollars worth of bitcoin and it pumped the price by more than $1000 in just five minutes.

And then it started to be on almost all the Papers, and it went to $15600.


Sad to see that the price is going down again, $14,8k at the moment and it seems that it will keep going down. but i do not know why it likes to be on a bearish trend.


It did, and on coinmarketcap is shows that it increased by more than 11 percent today  :D :D

I had my "fun" sending some money with low fee in December. Never again.
I think that I'll switch pretty soon to a SegWit wallet, it is clearly the step forward, just I am behind with my homework on that.

Well said and I have spend a few hours looking into lightning from a technical perspective
and it might make the network faster but when it comes to fees  :D well read my mind.

Bastards took $80 from me last week in fees and have lost any trust they had from me
but doing the maths your $5 is still worth a whopping 60 bytes of data if added to the
block-chain and it sounds much better if you times it by eight and count the bits

This what everyone has been waiting for. From $13,000 up to $15,060 and now at $14,860 and yet still a good price though.
Woah! That's sweet so that's the reason for that pump, I guess big players will come in after his move.

Been pump for sure but hope to see it progress continously so those who have invested lately will not get heart attack for watching the price of bitcoin slowly dropping and fear they might lost their capital in investment.

I thought this was refering to Segwit2x I was gonna lose my shit on them lol. We all knew Mr.Bit would be along for the ride one day or another no surprises here! Next stop ATH  :)

I think this is not big jump. Its just beginning. Lets see what happen next. I am no doubt price will go up more.

Bitcoin price is going to moon very soon. This is the good time to buy for those who have plans for it. It can only be this low for this month. February, Match and April will be a great time for bitcoin.

If a big bump is about to happen, and the basis in 14 to 15k, maybe it will raise to 25k?

If so, will the other coins going to receive a similar dump?

Top 10 are always good. I have no doubt with them. So i always look into them.
Regarding this jump, there are more jumping waiting bitcoin since this is just early year.

The fast jump was because of news of some kind of high end fancy hedge fund which allegedly has 15-10 mil in BTC.

If network transaction fees got sorted out and the network speeds up, I think the price would shoot up due to lots of old BTC investors coming back into the mix that got fed up with all of the network issues and in fighting.

Bitcoin is currently on the downward trend, as investors are expected to be primarily interested in altcoin in 2018, namely Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple and, in addition, new ICO. Due to the trend of investors focused on Altcoin and ICO, the Bitcoin exchange rate is not likely to increase strongly as it was a month ago. Buying Bitcoin at this time is very reasonable if you have the money you want to invest because the nature of investing in Bitcoin will be more permanent than investing in Altcoin and ICO.

That's the big story here, it has held $10,000 quite easily when many people thought reaching $10,000 by the New Year would be a dream come true. I love the way the media clung to the never to last spike that fell back to some kind of normality. I have a bitchy person I work for who knows how well I have done through Bitcoin and NEVER talks to me about it, but he broke his silence after reading the media reports, so put him right though after telling him how much it had gone up last year.

Go go go Bitcoin will reach the price of $ 20k hopefully it happens in this month.
I bought it yesterday when the price went down.

To me this is bitcoin recovering the losses in the previous days, I will not be so positive and excited that this is th beginning of a new rally because I do not see any signs that is the case, but every time I see bitcoin going up in price is something that I like.

The new year has been calm so far. I wonder, when Bitcoin makes some significant moves. There seems to be change in the BTC domination, as there is a lot of flow to altcoins. I guess, many new investors are now investing their money into altcoins to hope for faster gains. The BTC domination is at an all time low of only 37%. Not sure, how it goes from here.

While some investors were in panic  i have always tell them that bitcoin will pull up again ,in just a little time,dropping in price it does not mean it has been dumped as some persons were saying that it will never increase in price again.

That's true, so many investors leave bitcoin and those investors are turning to altcoin. But I think the main reason is the problem of very high bitcoin transaction fees.
So this is not the downward trend but high transaction fees trend.

I am not getting over excited, what I wanted to see is $10,000 hold up as the new floor, and I think at the moment it is winning, still too early to make that call yet, but things are looking good.

That is a good sign for cryptocurrency market! Maybe its time now to go up again its value, christmas and new years holidays are over!.  People are starting to invest again and it reflects to the market. Lets invest more to have more profit in 2018

I am not at all worried, many times I have seen sudden drops in price for BTC (3-4 years ago it lost nearly 70%) but history so far proves that Bitcoin has got marvellous skills to recover and continue to grow. I bet for $20K or even higher by the end of Jan 2018.

Bitcoin is now bouncing back and keep moving slowly but surely. Hoping that it will continue in the next days so we can get back all our losses. It will soar higher and people will buy back for sure, better to do it now or never.

So when I came back from hanging bitcoin surprised me so that's a nice come home from me, baby. And by reading some of the comments here on what's the reason behind that quick pump, it's good to know that we've got another whale that has entered the market. This will make bitcoin stabilized and stable at $13,000 and this will make it the new floor price.

to be honest I was hooked to see this price hike and immediately I feel happy then hope this price jump will continue until the day bitcoin go back up. but it turns out that hope has not fully fulfilled and the price went back down. maybe this is a good sign that bitcoin is not over yet he can still point to such a meaningful price jump.

The reason for the last rise in Bitcoin is because of the news of WSJ: Peter Thiel who is the founder of PayPal and technology consultant of Trump has made an investment on Bitcoin. The value of investment reached approximately to 100 million dollars.
BTC is the dominant. BTC has risen up and people starts panicking for being in 20% financial loss in altcoins.

Yeah, seems like bitcoin is going to rise again. Lets see what will happen after a week from now.
I also saw some videos of people talking about a bullish flag has been made.

Of course he will be higher. It was less in connection with the new year. And now he will rise again by several tens of thousands of dollars. This year bitkoin will surprises us all!

After roll down from $19600 to $12000 bitcoin has finally settled near $13000. Today all of sudden bitcoin bounced back to $15380. It may be sign, those bitcoin investors who have done profit bookings in the last week are coming back. By this upside performance stop loss of $10000 seems weaken. This is a good sign of relief to bitcoin investors who were little panic due to continuous falling of bitcoin price.

That is a small jump of bitcoin and bitcoin will jump higher again. A small jump at the beginning of the year, this will be a sign this year will be a bitcoin year.

Yes but not much with litecoin.
Unlike other which really pump and also other coins under Ethereum have been blooming.

Nothing surprises me anymore, price changes faster than ever in both ways. Is the jump today a sign that the price will run up again it's left to see, it could be investors come back or something else, but in the upcoming period I expect positive movements.

True. Bitcoin's price is now slowly gaining its face and momentum and only decreases at a low rate. For sure, bitcoin will soon step up the game and increase its price more, but I think, with regards to the movement in the market, it is more like the year of altcoins because a lot of altcoins are increasing in its value right now.

do not be afraid the bitcoin will keep rising because the very high bitcoin demand keeps the bitcoin up, if it goes down it's just a transition period or a preparatory time to prepare for a higher jump.

Bitcoin is unstoppable evermore It's will be top one, I don't know some people why do negative comment pass about bitcoin. I cant' see any negative issue till now, hopefully, I can't see forever at present time is so good price.

It is even better to buy now that the bullish has not started. The jump witnessed lately is a sign that this 2018 would be a tremendous increase for bitcoin because many investors are adopting it.

It's off because of a early investor in Facebook just sold majority of his shares and bought btc. Another reason as 2018 started in all the countries in the world people have started to rebuy and invest in crypto currencies again , tho7gh btc has been really slow so when compared with other coins it will take a month for btc to actually go off.

25% up or down is just a normal day for BTC or should I post each time it drops 10% ?

Why would they be doing that given the fees or have you not been keeping an eye on the other alt-coins as BTC
losses ground to them because of the extortion transactions fees and slow speeds.

A guy was saying here the last time BTC was at $19,000 that now is a good time to buy because nothing can
stop it now but high fees did

The price of bitcoins has never been stable, so this is not surprising. A little more time will pass and its price will again increase several times. Just need to wait a little.
