Will Bitcoin survive or burst in 2018? What do you think?

Hmm..It's said that 2018 will be the year of alts. And all these hard forks news..Don't know for sure, but I will hold my BTC and buy some alts, like B2X

The fact that bitcoin bubble and it will soon burst will say for a very long time. And yet he has not yet burst and is rather confident in himself, increasing his price. 2018 will be for bitcoin as good as 2017. By the end of 2018 I think that we will see the price of bitcoin 40-50 thousand dollars.

Most of the experts assuming it's highest as 25k when the supply is over and it's gonna finally stabilize.

I believe that bitcoin will only grow, it is already clear that the new year begins with the growth of investments, the price will also go up

Of course it will survive this year. No one will say ten years ahead, but the crypto currency is only at the beginning of its path. And it can be decades.

Definitely! As speculated from the news, Bitcoin price will rise up again like last 2017. Many people have already knew and invested so much to Bitcoin as they can see it as a good investment wherein they can earn so much income. We do expect that the demands will increase this 2018 as this is world wide known and implemented or adapted to many countries. So, we better to buy and invest now to Bitcoin or Altcoins as this is hassle free and very easy to invest our money.

2018 began with the rise in altcoins but it doesn't mean that Btc will explode.
I think it will continue to increase BTC's value this year.

Bitcoin is predicted to grow and possibly triple in price in 2018. If i were you , I will take the opportunity of the recent dip to buy more of bitcoin. Bitcoin is going up in value this year for sure.

2018 starts with an altcoin price increase but that does not mean bitcoin prices will explode. I think will continue to increase the price of bitcoin this year.

Many people think BITCOIN is a huge buble. Bitcoin price will rise up. No one can stop it. There is some Price Up and Down. it's normal but BTC not a buble. I think end of this year 1 BTC can achieve 50,000$ very easily.

I've said for a while now, I don't think it is going to hit 20k.  There are still whales out there that are slowly pulling out of bitcoin, but can't all at once because it will crash the market.  That's why it is bouncing around in the mid-teens.   maybe once the whales are completely out, and the market is not as manipulable it could go up... but why would it go up when there are so many better coins out there afterwards.   Before the USD, GBP was the global reserve currency, and after USD the Yuan and Euro probably will share that spot.   There is no reason that anyone stands forever on a financial instrument forever just on principle.  

I never understood the idea that LTC was for small purchases and BTC was for large purchases.  WTF is that logic?  You know what I used to buy my house? Dollars.  You know what I use to buy my soda?  Dollars.  It is non-nonsensical.  

Bitcoin was an excellent proof of concept, however, it is slow and it is very expensive to use.

I might be proved wrong, and if so, I won't care I think it would be great for the entire eco-system if all coins went up and trust was placed in the market as a whole.  

PS - I get that most of this is conjecture, just my personal feelings on the state of BTC.

Maybe the future of Bitcoin is Segwit2X. Fork looks promising.

The heck, what burst you are talking about? Another one that thinks that bitcoin is a bubble? I don't know on how many times did I read that you guys are thinking this way. First, bitcoin is not a bubble or it isn't in a bubble state. Don't believe what others are saying, they probably missed the chance of riding it while the price wasn't too high. You should understand that bitcoin did survived for many times and it didn't burst.

I think 2018 will be the most critical year for the development of CryptoCurrency, and many applications have come to the ground. At the same time, as the bitcoin, as the head of the CryptoCurrency, has just experienced a fall adjustment, it will still have a good space to rise in 2018.

Price will always continue to rise and rise year after year unless something really goes wrong with Bitcoin itself. For example: someone discovers a way to hack it or all governments would ban it etc. Which would probably be impossible.

Since BTC is so big, no one person or group can control it. So it just keeps going up.

I wish B2X could be successful, but I haven't seen much progress in it so far.

Well, i think this year 2018 the bitcoin will experiencing a burst due to hardfork has coming.. the good things to this you can buy bitcoin in a low price, make as an investment to bitcoin then hold for how many years. Aside from this, altcoins is very potential coin this year because it increases a lot of value. And we must enjoy for a couple of months in giving the altscoin more success.

Ofcourse bitcoin will survive in 2018. I have always thinking bitcoin will always survive every year. Slowly, slowly, slowly it's move but very difficult to stop. The price of btc will raise and raise and raise every year even though the supply is slowly decrease. Time will come btc price will become so far to every altcoins. Maybe it will come to the pick of 100,000$ in the long run years of btc. Probably more years to come before it happens. This year is the starting point of btc to make it price hard to invest for us like me who thus not have 13,000$.. Before the end of 2018 still its price remain unstable because of the more demand the low supply principle.

Bitcoin will be better and stronger, many people have said the ending of BTC for  many times , but bitcoin is still here , and getting more and more fans , also becoming more and more popular , and it will be the no.1 for many years.

We all know that btc is a great foundation of all of the alts today. If btc will burst it will affect all of the cryptocurrencies too. I believe that btc is increasing in a good pacing. Where the normal ups and downs occur. Btc will stay strong this 2018.

first when is the next segwit2x because it seems hard fork will happen again this year. Bitcoin is the subject of discussion globally in the media last year reaching above $18k before it started falling again and currently its just 14k plus. I think bitcoin will survive again this year. probably we see another fork. but it is not going to be easy to predict the price before 2018 ending. i heard in some forum saying 25k well we shall sit back and see what happen

Bitcoin has this trend of slowing down and then suddenly picking up the pace from time to time. So, it would be actually useless to worry about it because that's the trend bitcoin usually follows. Unfortunately, bitcoin commands so much attention and it control a big chunk of the cryptocurrency market that it negatively affects altcoins. In terms of value, I think there is a possibility for it to actually reach 40k-50k like the aforesaid reply stated; however, there should another surge to support that, but I am hoping it won't have so bad of an effect to altcoins.

Of course, Bitcoin will survive and will become stronger in 2018. Bitcoin is under attack, but this is not the first one and will not be the last one either. Bitcoin is facing major issues and challenges, but as we have seen before it will get over it.

I agree with you . Bitcoin is experiencing a lot of challenges and this has greatly influenced the development of Bitcoin but at this time Bitcoin is still on the upward trend and is attracting a lot of big investors.

The last month the media hyped the vitoin very much. Many people who was first suspiciously about cryptocurrencies are now very interested to invest. So i think 2018 will be the strongest year of bitcoin. After that the hype will be over and the value will not rise that fast again.

Surive? For what? Bitcoin is already live and strong in the market. It doesn't need anything else. We're only in a temporary altcoin pump era. When this ends, bitcoin will start a strong upwards trend very soon.

BTC will survive burst, some other alt coins won't at least on this volume and price. Money will go from one coins to others, new money will come after time and some new coins will rise as good. all this is not overnight take it and leave business, this crypto is long therm. I think, some of top alt coins will go down soon, someone will just pull huuuge amount of money and invest in something else. You just need to follow which coins are owned by who, who have biggest amount of them, what they will do with it etc...
For example, who own most of ripple? what happen if those who owns ripple dump all they have? or just half? etc... You need to be careful when investing. Research before it etc... and don't invest all you have in one coin.

I think bitcoin is hard to break down. If bitcoin has increased 1000000 times over the past 10 years and has topped the list of virtual currencies over the last several years. I predict that by the end of 2018 bitcoin will break. The current valuation ($ 15,322,100) is $ 25,000.00 = 1 BTC.

I think that in 2018 bitcoin will not be as rapidly raise in price as in 2017. Most likely this will be a good year for alternative coins. I believe that the coins from the TOP-20 will grow up to 20 times.

Bitcoin will survive in year 2018 because of the high demand of user using bitcoin the price will increase. This year will be great help for the user invest using bitcoin.

in 2017 bitcoin had the scaling debate at its most heated up state. and then at some point (mid year) we had SegWit coming. that was all. we also had the ETF thing which was cancelled, then at the end of the year the CME futures which was big and the unexpected mass adoption that happened in Japan in early year.

in 2018 we have lots of things coming unlike 2017!
we have the futures markets become more popular and more of them like NASDAQ start up.
we have SegWit adoption growing
we have Lightning Network adoption growing and that alone is huge.
we also have additional features be added to bitcoin. things such as Shnorr signatures, Atomic swaps, confidential transactions, Smart contracts like RSK and lots of other side chains.

i say this year things will be very surprising, much more than 2017.

already recovered?  I think the price of bitcoin nowadays is not enough Cause the current price of btc is 20k,  maybe bitcoin will not go higher on this year cause some of altcoin is increasing. If i was you buy altcoin instead of bitcoin cause like what others says maybe this is year of alt and 2017 is year of bitcoin . And i believe on it as we see the eth valued nowadays. 

I have not even seen anything that would make bitcoin not to survive this year. I am very sure this is the year we are going to be seeing a lot of improvements in the bitcoin protocol, some tax attack from governments but that would definitely not affect the growth of bitcoin. Except for some communist country which we all know will want to use veto power, the adoption normally will increase hugely globally which would cause an increase un price which may even be more than last year.

Yes Bitcoin will rise again in 2018, but Bitcoin will experience down as well. Do you remember the very fast change of Bitcoin prices in the past year? At that time the price of Bitcoin had changed drastically within a few weeks. It is very strange but also stressful because many people so sell a lot of Bitcoin. This year is likely to be a special year because I have saved some Bitcoins and are ready to invest into 2018. I'm sure my Bitcoin will grow to so much this year. I wish I could collect more Bitcoin in order to get more profit. And I hope the price of Ethereum will go up too.

I agree. I think that it will have it's ups and downs, but ultimately, it will grow and grow because there is a lot of potential left in its tank. It may have been there for about 10 years now, but I am sure that it is still in its starting stages because only about 15-20% of the people in the world know about it. As it continues to be known and to be accepted, it would transcend to more dealings and investments, that would certainly lead to more growth and increase in price and value. Therefore, I believe that it would rise continuously with a little bumps here and there.

all my friend's and colleague i want to tell don't be nervous in future people who are investing in btc they know as well as btc can never die who's know how to earn from btc they also remember it btc will increase on any coast i would love to tell u the speculation of btc it will come $25000 in 2018.

Bitcoin will survive and not just that, bitcoin will be stronger each month. I don't expect speed of rise like it was last year, many people are now in alts and I see their market caps raised billions in dollars, they are taking away that dollars from bitcoins and thats why I believe that this year rise willbbe slower that it was in 2017. Las year was definitely bitcoins year, this year it will go up but I think that some alts will make higher rise and adoption rate. We will see, this year just started, let's see first quarter and we will see who was right.

i have a lot of experience in bitcoin since four years. I saw that in the starting of 2018 the price of bitcoin is going down countinously day by day but after some time it stopped at some price and after that it price will countinously increase and it demand increase in the 2018 and the number of user of bitcoin will also increase . I saw views of bitcoin about last year bitcoin become very popular in all over the world and it market value is increases . So also in 2018 bitcoin become more valuable.

From my views and experience of bitcoin of last three years the value of bitcoin in the starting of 2018 is down very much and the price of bitcoin is also decrease very much and it will also decrease in the future for few months but the demand of bitcoin will not decrease in 2018 it will remain constant or increase . In 2018 also bitcoin become the topmost cryptocurrency but from my views in the ending of 2018 the price of bitcoin will increase and reaches very maximum.

What is this for nonsense. Do you even know what you write, or are you just blindly pooping on this forum? From the looks it seems that you don't know anything about Bitcoin's last three years, and even less about its market. If the demand for Bitcoin increases, the price increases as well, it's a simple formula that applies to any market in the world. Also, Bitcoin is the king of all currencies already, just like it has been in all previous years, so don't let yourself get distracted because some centralized shitcoins are gaining value. Nothing can challenge Bitcoin in any shape or form.

Yeah, and a lot of those alts are really doing hugely well right now as we keep seeing a lot of them increasing hugely right now in value than we can imagine.
No one can say for sure how long this is going to be before bitcoin start again, but due to the last year forks and all, a lot happened that really caused a huge bloodbath for the alts and we hope we do not see a repetition of that anytime soon.

It will survive, Bitcoin already surpasses a lot of challenges the years before. This year would a great year for the crypto world especially Bitcoin. A lot would definitely engage in this industry and for sure Bitcoin would generally rise up better than last year. Of course Bitcoin will survive 2018 and much further, as the market is just beginning to expand and still has a lot of space to grow. However, it is evident that the dominance of bitcoin as the cryptocurrency with the largest marketcap may possibly be lost this year, since today bitcoin has only 30% of the current marketcap, and the others cryptos 70%. Yes of course bicoin will survive, not just only for 2018 but for many years to come. Though we don't know the price will goes with this years but I believe it would go higher as the community embrace this new for of technology. We only not to rely on bitcoin alone, maybe  we could make some investment with altcoins as they grow just like bitcoin.

Growth for bitcoin is for sure definite for now and no matter what we want to predict or assume, what is bound to happen will still happen. We may see some sideways resistance for now before either breaking to the top or downwards, but whichever way, bitcoin is still going to end up bouncing back in the long run and holding now for those who are not trading is even more important than ever.

Why not? We cannot say this it early but there's a possibility that it will burst this year. After a long Holiday season last December, selling a lot of bitcoin is over so i guess there's a possibility that bitcoin price will rise this Month.

Am of the opinion that bitcoin will survive and not just survive but will it will grow double it's current market value before the of this year 2018, though that does not mean other altcoin will not grow in value but not to the turn of bitcoin.

Bitcoin survived the worst market corrections more than the one bitcoin is currently suffering from. There was a correction when bitcoin lost over 80% of it original value due heavy correction. Thankfully, the bitcoin is now recovering strongly from the recent correction and soon everything will go back to normal.   

The Bitcoin will survive and it would reach up to $100k by the December 2018.

You are actually talking like the guy who classified bitcoin as a bubble. Bitcoin is not bubble that is why it will never ever burst for that mater. Bitcoin will survive 2018 like the rest of the years or even better by adding more value in this year. Who knows where bitcoin will stop this year? Perhaps, 2018 might be the best year of bitcoin ever.   

let other people say that bitcoin as a bubble and if they still thinking like that, we don't have to follow them. we have our own decision to say bitcoin is a bubble or not, as long as we do our work and not depend on other people, we can see that we can earn more bitcoin in this year. I think from 2017 bitcoin gain more follower and many people finally realize that bitcoin is something different than any other investment. Well bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, it's like the father of cryptocurrency and also the price is the biggest if you compare it with other cryptocurrency. I think bitcoin will stay around $10k+ in this year, 2017 is the best year for bitcoins and I hope 2018 will be too.

Let's see how correct all the claimed experts end up to be. A lot of experts have predicted a lot in the past which for now seems they ended up wrong. Stabilization is something we may not be seeing anytime soon for now, but I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I am not very sure how this would end up for the market, but I am still very optimistic that bitcoin still have a long way to go in 2018.

Right now, I really do not even know what I think anymore. Bitcoin can keep on like this for years, and anything may happen at any point, but from the value we are right now, no one is sure if the bubble has ended with the correction and double bottom or the bears are still relaxing to see how much they are still going to be cashing out pretty soon. Whichever way though, I guess we will still have some good times ahead.
