Title: Exchanges that offer business/corporate accounts?
Post by: cryptoplustrader on January 04, 2018, 09:08:04 AM
Hey guys,

I want to upload and withdraw fiat funds via my business bank account and act as a legal entity so I could buy and sell cryptos for my clients, but so far I have found just a couple of exchanges that offer these kinds of accounts - Kraken and Bitstamp.

I have sent to both Kraken and Bitstamp the required documents 10 days ago but still have not received any answer.

Do you have any other suggestions regarding other exchanges?

Wait a few days for them to respond. When I gave them ( kraken ) my documents, it took a long time for him to answer if my account would be verified or not, I confess I thought about giving up and looking for other exchange because I was desperate. I did not believe the day I received the kraken email saying my account was verified. so be a little patient and do not use certain exchange like yobit.

these are other options that I think you might consider using:

Bitfinex
GDAX
Gemini

do a little research on these exchanges before you register

How have you actually managed to use Kraken for anything now that you have your corporate account? I have one with them but I'm unable to perform any action without getting a 502 error before it completes. Currently looking for a replacement.

What kind of documents are they asking for in KYC procedure for corporate accounts?

In regards to GDAX institutional accounts; we submitted our application in January, and just received a response a couple days ago >_<

Your own mileage may vary, but I personally would steer clear.

Poloniex used to have a corporate membership, which I never applied for. Not sure what happened after the relaunch, my account was brought back to Legacy and since reinstated to Verified after I completed KYC but I no longer use that exchange so can't say for it now.

BitPanda also offered a possibility for corporate account (they call it Platinum Membership) but it works just the same as individual accounts with only extra privileges of increased daily withdrawals to $25,000. Their support's pretty good at discussing individual needs so maybe just reach out. They're quite a solid and small exchange (relatively small anyway) and have never declined in support quality, which is why I'm recommending.

I have never heard of this exchange before, but from seeing the way you're recommending it,I'll be sure to check it out. I have seen people recommending binance, kraken, bittrex(LOL), poloniex(LOL again) but never heard about BitPanda. What surprises me is that you say the support quality is amazing. Now that's something no other exchange has. Wonder why it is not a major exchange yet ???.

Because BitPanda is not really a pure exchange as we know it but rather an exchanger. It's limited to 4-5 cryptos and 4-5 payments methods.
The fact that the site is small compared to others, you have usually less problem and faster support.
As for choosing an exchange for a corporate account, I would be very careful while choosing one

That's correct! It doesn't have the trading interfaces of the ones mentioned (so it's not strictly speaking a trading platform). It's an exchange, good rates, good service, proper registered entity in Austria. Recently launched an crowdfund for its own "proper" trading exchange... so I suppose they're also headed that way.

@pugman, I'm only recommending it based on my experience and how little issues they've given to me. This doesn't change how I feel about centralised exchanges, though! I never store anything on any of them.

Think of it as Coinbase without GDAX and you maybe you get closer to the picture.

Hey guys!

I'm also interested in this topic.
Do you know of any exchange in Japan / Hong-Kong or in the Middle East that allows foreign businesses to open corporate / business accounts?

Thanks a lot in advance  ;D

Kraken has a team and office in Japan (or at least it had before) but the company is not purely based there. Otherwise, you have BitFlyer which is from Japan and I think Huobi moved from Singapore to Japan, not sure about huobi but bitflyer I am

kraken is leaving japan for good. i guess those regulations got too much to deal with, or they weren't making enough money.

whatever happened to leverage on gdax? it was available to big time customers but then disappeared very quickly.

I'm interested also to open a corporate account on Kraken and I would appreciate to share your experience !
Thank you
