Nowadays, 10 hrs aren't that long for the response of support from exchanges considering the increase in volume of users/tickets. You should wait atleast 24hrs-48hrs, just imo. If you want, you could visit their unofficial sub reddit page, either you post a topic on Bitstamp sub (https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitstamp/) or send a PM to Bitstamp-Domen (https://www.reddit.com/user/Bitstamp-Domen) directly as he is actively replying to queries there.

There are some people who were waiting more than a week for the answer. But eventually they come back.
The solution for your problem is choosing more recent exchange where they don't have problem with too many clients

More recent exchanges? I wouldn't recommend this. Bitstamp is a trusted site and even though sometimes it may take them a while to reply to a support message, they will reply and do their best to sort out the issue. Anyway, all the exchanges that are considered trustworthy will be in the same boat considering the amount of people buying in and out of Bitcoin right now. Most of the support messages will probably be concerning fees.

Just like the earlier poster has rightly suggested, more recent exchange sites might not be the solution because of the fact that they have not been sell tested and therefore cannot be fully trusted. I would have suggested the medium size exchange sites that have stand the test of time, but those ones too are gradually sliding into the episode of taking forever to answer tickets but for the fact that answers will come is enough to be sure that your fund is secure as that is the most worrying part as against when ticket will be answered. And most times too, the challenges being faced are due to impatience of not reading the FAQ or not following the procedures and the likes so the customer care representative on the other end would just ignore and attend to more pressing issues.

Don't worry. The guys at Bitstamp are a trusted bunch of people. Generally, you can expect around 3 - 5 days of wait time before their support would respond to you. How fast they respond typically depends on how old your account is. They do give preference to older clients.

At least you are not with Blockchain support. Those guys take ages to respond.
