Title: Issues with Stuck Transaction.
Post by: CoinMeSome on January 05, 2018, 05:04:27 AM
Hello,

Having an issue with a recent transaction, I've Sent some BTC 14hrs ago (no confirms yet) and I used the recommended fee for 8hr transfer.
The fee is simply too low (106.044 sat/B).

So I abandoned the transaction and re-sent this time with a much higher fee.

However, now the new transaction isn't listed on blockchain.info.

Old TX: 5092248d37dc525eea21d7b9381aba722faad433df27042723ed369e8f8a7642
NEW TX: 72cff09d5507bc35a1469f7912fbe0a0e88d3283327ecb65c987a1f1d1fca1c0

The current status of the transfer is 'Status: 0/unconfirmed, in memory pool', it's been 1hr since I re-did the transfer.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Ooop! Just got 1 confirmation on the original transaction which has now cancelled the new transaction.
Guess I'll just have to wait for a couple days for it to get enough confirmations.

No... as soon as you get 1 confirmation, each block following that one will add another confirmation. Given that the block time is supposed to average 10 mins... you should have your 6 confirmations after 1 hour... (one day should net you ~144 confirmations)

As of writing this message, around 30 mins after yours, you already have 4 confirmations. ;)

Well, that makes sense.

The funds still haven't cleared on the other side, even though it has 9 confs. Site must be behind or something.
From now on I won't use the default recommended fees set by Bitcoin Core.

Thanks heaps for the reply.
