Title: Newbie with the oddest question
Post by: Japikid on January 10, 2018, 12:41:37 AM
Hi all,
First post here and I hope I don't get laughed out of here. I am completely new to all of this and have an odd question. I want to invest in Bitcoin, can I invest in buying stock in the company or only buy buying coins? For discussion purpose say Bitcoin is at 15,000$. If If I buy 1 Bitcoin, I am only getting 1 coin for 15,000. Is that correct?

Hi there!
You can not invest in stocks of the company as there is no public company
You can buy 1 complete bitcoin for +-15.000 dollar, you can also buy 0.1 bitcoin for 1.500 dollar for instance, it does not have to be 1 complete bitcoin

Before making a big investment I would suggest reading a lot on how to buy and keep your bitcoins safe in a wallet ;) good luck

Thanks for the info.
I'm located in Japan and looking for an app that I can use to buy different coins and a safe place to store in a wallet. Any recommendations?
Cheers.

Others have answered your questions but please do more reading before investing. :) Bitcoin is quite different from other investments. Also, FYI, there are no actual coins, in case you didn't know. There is a globally distributed ledger that determines how much Bitcoin is available in Bitcoin addresses. It is a digital asset.

Try checking out Binance[1], it's like the best cryptocurrency exchange we have at the moment, and they have a great Android app[2] to go with it. Not sure if they're currently accepting new registrations though, as they've been receiving a huge influx of new registrations. Also take note that you can't purchase coins on most of these exchanges though, you'd have to buy through another exchange that accepts fiat deposits, like Coinbase[3], Gemini[4], and Kraken[5].

As for what wallet to use, read Lauda's post[6] on the Beginner's forum.

You are getting 1 whole bitcoin of its current value/price, so that's pretty much a yes. Naturally, you buy bitcoins at its lowest so when its value rises you'll get more profit, but that'll be rare and unpredictable.

For a wallet I recommend you to buy a Ledger Nano S hardware wallet if you invest a lot of money
Its like a USB stick, you can buy it from the company itself

Everyone here was once a newbie in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Best thing to do keep reading first, do your own research, you can also ask something that not as stupid question you like this one you posted. Having the guts and eagerness to earn in bitcoin is best but you should learn first the strategies in cryptos, just like every newbies or else you end up losing your own money.

If you want to enter the cryptocurrency market, you need to understand the knowledge of the blockchain, so it's good for your next investment, personal advice.

Yes, of course,
but to have bitcoin you do not have to buy. You can follow the campaign in a project. from there you will get a coin that you can make investment in the future.
or if you want to sell it and earn enough money when the coins you own, have an expensive selling point.

I like that campaign idea. Any recommendations on how to get hooked up with one?
Cheers

I will say welcome to the cryptoworld. I would advise that you first read and research about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology first. There maybe very important things you need to know before investing that participants may not tell you here. Based on experience, hardware wallet is the safest so far. Good luck
