Title: QuickBT Canada: Checkout in Bitcoin using your bank account
Post by: adamcol on August 13, 2013, 03:43:34 PM
Hi Bitcointalk,

I wanted to introduce the community to QuickBT. Essentially it allows you to buy Bitcoin with your bank account in Canada.

However it does much more:

1) It's instant - there's no waiting to explore Bitcoin

2) It uses real time market prices

3) It's so easy, it can be integrated into a checkout workflow

Number three is the most important because it means that merchants that only accept Bitcoin, now accept Bitcoin and Canadian Dollars.

Soon, as this concept expands, businesses can do away with merchant accounts etc and say:
"I accept Bitcoin, YOU choose the payment processor that pays me in Bitcoin"

Then, payment processors (like QuickBT) have to EARN their customers through fair pricing and customer service.
Today, merchant processing is ugly... We hope to be the first to change that.

Why is it limited to $30 at a time?  With interac fees of $1.50 the transaction costs gets pretty high.

Does this mean businesses can receive BTC while buyers paying with their bank accounts?

It looks good, but .25 btc is a very small amount per day. If I want to buy 1 btc, I have to spend 4 days to do it? And the fees are 10%, kinda high.

Be carefull with that service. At the very least they use a wallet backend that is not able to issue transactions properly.
