Title: TXid gone
Post by: Lost_Guy on January 12, 2018, 01:25:27 PM
Hello,

I sent btc from cex.io over a week ago and it remained unconfirmed. When I went to check on that transaction, in the hopes it was confirmed I received a message saying "Transaction rejected by our node. Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database". So, I looked up the wallet it was being sent to and it showed up in another transaction with with 23 confirmations, but I have not received the btc. Upon looking further they are identical transactions, the only difference is the new one has a higher fee with it. I was hoping somebody could explain what happened and if there is anything I can do.

The transaction was dropped by the mempools in the nodes around the network and Cex.io decided that the fee was too low and crafted a new transaction with a higher fee that replaced the old transaction.

If the transaction is confirmed and is visible on the block explorer when searching your address, it isn't their fault. The fault is with your wallet. What wallet are you using?

Do you mean you looked up the address on a block explorer, or did you see 23 confirmations in your wallet?

Is your receiving address in this list?

If it is, and your wallet doesn't show it, it might be out of sync.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses.

The wallet is on another exchange. When I look at the receiving address now it is different from when I first sent the transaction. But, I am pretty sure that most exchanges change addresses, but all old addresses are still valid.

On blockinfo you can see the 23 confirmations, nothing in my wallet.

Yes, my wallet is in the list, but as I said above the exchange I was sending to now shows new address.

Thanks.

You need to contact support at the exchange and get them to check it. On the facts you have stated it looks like something has gone wrong at their end because as you say old addresses are normally still valid. Good luck.

Was this HitBTC by any chance? I've read about problems like this before.
