Title: Best practices for storing BTC safely
Post by: HermesConrad on August 15, 2013, 09:57:03 AM
So as the title says.. How do I store safely? I currently run the Electrum wallet on my laptop.. But for larger amounts of money, what then?

Pointers, links, teks, whatever, everything is welcome. Thanks :)

Not trying to be a jerk, but this has been answered a million times and there are step by step guides all over the place that will give you a better answer than what you will get in this thread. Do a Google search and then if you have a specific problem or you can't figure something out, come here and ask. You will get more help that way.

Make a paper wallet with secure offline OS that never touched or will touch internet, there are plenty of good guides for this. But remember, when you spend money from the paper wallet (by scanning/writing the private key from the paper to an online computer, the private key is not secure anymore).
