There is a lot of talk about institutional money coming into btc. Does anybody think they wana buy it for 20k? They have money and resources to make a dump. If we want mass adoption and big money flowing in we have to expect things like this.

That is true.
The problem is with those new investors who dont know its history.
It will happen again and again if one big investor feels like it is enough for him.
There will always be a big dump since they have lots of it, add the miners who will need money to pay for their electricity consumptions.

If you think yesterday events have something with big players who want to buy large amounts of BTC and before that they crash price down I think that this is not the case.For them even 20k $ or more does not represent a problem,the reason is simple, they have huge amounts of money and what is expensive for the average people is actually cheap for them.

Dump is always orchestrated by big players who have power to move markets up or down-BTC is available to everyone,it can be bought by Bill Gates or you or me.I agree that we will see a lot of different manipulations in future,those who are aware of it will always make a profit.

Institution  traders and hedge fund managers are secretly  buying bitcoin to increase the value of their portfolio. That is the cause of the dump that saw bitcoin and other altcoins sliding  down.

Yeah I agree they have not even came, at $7000-$10000 they will be buying and we will not see below $6K because bitcoin is very strong indeed.

Depends on BTC's stability rather than its price or even its growth. Institutional investors care less about getting astronomic gains and more about a stable investment with healthy appreciation. Until we get there -- that is, if we get there -- BTC still has to grow quite a bit in both market cap and trading volume, as to make it harder to move the market. Regardless whether it's whales playing the pump-and-dump game or organic boom-and-bust market cycles.

Big money is coming to bitcoin and billonaires will buy bitcoin more and more as bitcoin grows.

I think we don't. It's not about they all believing in btc or crypto, it's about they don't wana take a risk of btc becoming mass adopted without their pawns on it. For traditional investors this is a cheap market. So they will put a few percents just in case. That's my opinion offc.

Clear evidence is probably not the only hypothesis, and we can not do what they want us to do and we cannot help us. It's a good idea to push our selves in a good idea to expand our knowledge to crypto.

I don’t think all billionaires will be willing to buy bitcoin. most of them are business minded and actually thinks of various pros and cons prior to investing on something and they might probably have second thoughts for bitcoin. However there were surely other billionaires who risk bigtime for it.

so they gain money because they sell a lot, then after the drop they also gain money because they buy cheap (because of the previous drop) and so on again and again; no wonder the rich are getting richer.

There is, the problem is, now these institutional investors are shorting cryptos, and making money on both ends. This is something I warned about for years. Hopefully, stability returns eventually.

yeah i think with the support of the news right now ban bitcoin the investor selling a little of their bitcoin to earn some money and so the price go down and down. and after that the other not an investor see the price go down scared about that and end up panic selling them and the investor buyback again in cheaper price.

I also know a lot of successful business man investing in bitcoins. Actually, they have so much money at disposal, that some thousand dollars makes no difference to them.

Maybe some of billionaires or millionaires also buying bitcoin, but not all of them. Bitcoin in my country is not that popular that all of the billionaires will buy. And i think if they know about it and they know that bitcoin is good to invest their money they will invest in bitcoin.

But ofcourse before investing your money you should study the flow of currency exchange.you should have strong connection to internet and a patient mind that is willing to wait because bitcoin prize is not stable.

I think some of billionaires invest in bitcoin, maybe it's just for fun,maybe its not, well we don't know about that. I also think that some billionaires don't wanna take the risk of being involved in cryptos. Billionaires have lots of money that they can afford to lose if something bad happen to bitcoin. So investing will not be a problem for them. But also they already have so much experience when talking about investment. They know how to handle calculated risk.

Because currently there is no hold of government on bitcoin in my country so there are chances for them to invest and save their tax related activity. As we know billionaires have a lot of money so i think they the responsible for dumping bitcoins and buying when the price begins to drop. They will not buy at 20k but instead they are selling when that price will hit at highest. Yet nobody is able to pinpoint how they do it but i guess these billionaires are making the price fluctuate.

Dumps are officially over and we can already see the jumps in the price of all the coins in the market especially the Bitcoin with the 12% rise in the market. Billionaires have enough money to buy large portions of the Bitcoin and there are maybe the ones that are using this same opportunity to make the crashes. This is why the derivative instruments have been introduced, and this is why that the institutional money will be buying future contracts (for the price of bitcoin).

The derivative instruments don't influence the price directly, but rather they offer means to gain (or lose) as base instrument price changes.

So I am not so sure if we, as a community, should be afraid of institutional money, at least for now.

I think different type of billionaires will approach this is different ways:

1) Someone who has become a millionaire only by his hard work and started from a very small capital will be very careful with any money he is spending no matter what is his current net value. Another thing we should not forget that such a person will already have a lot of successful business working for him which require continuous investments. He will always give preference to these while investing money in comparison to bitcoins.

2) Then we some people who inherited a lot of money. Such people may like to invest in risky things like bitcoins.

Well this is true, billionaires are the reason why the bitcoin reached $20000 last year. Millionaires and groups of wealthy people which we so called institutional investments, they are pretty scattered around the globe. Billionaires have the shares for more than the 50% of the total circulating supply of bitcoins but somehow they give us chances to get profit out of bitcoin and we are benefiting from them.

This is good and bad. These investors are clearly whales that are going to cause even wilder swings in the value of this coin. When one whale decides to take a dump, so will the other whales. If you can follow the pattern and swim with them then big profits can be made, but you need a lot of time to keep up with the trends

Things like this is inivitable because  big fishes have lots of money and they have the right to do what they wants with thier riches.  The dump is expected, let's us be aware of it and take advantage.  We might become rich also, no one can say.

Anybody is free here to buy bitcoin.  He may be millionaire / billionaire or more wealthy and also at the same time common man like me is also free to buy one btc or part of it.  No one can stop anybody.
The reason behind everybody's buying is to earn more and more money for their investment. 
There is no problem when the intentions are limited to the factors mentioned above.  But their are many greedy people who will try to eat the funds invested by others.   These people are having enough money to effect the movement of the market directions. Whenever they want the market to move downwards they will start downloading their btc and will also spread negative rumours about the market.  Fearing further losses innocent investors will also start selling.  When the market touches the bottom lines desired by the big investors they will now buy big amount of it and will buy till the market is moved upwards to the levels they desire it to go up.  Now they will spread positive rumours and agailn the innocents will be in the trap of their greed and will buy at higher levels.
This circle will continue.  The richer becomes more rich and the poor becomes poorer.  Though there may be some smart lucky traders at lower levels who may still earn something.

Billionaires are very likely to try because their ambition is great, and they will not miss such investment opportunities, even if the damage will have little effect on them.

Correct, in both sides it will have an impact, in the positive side it will attract more new investors after knowing that big support will help increasing the value of bitcoin, while in the negative side, they can also easily manipulate the value, they can change direction both sides each time they move their
interest, better to handle our investment wisely and keep monitoring how this whales shaking the market.

Billionaires buying Bitcoin is inevitable  as we all know this is a free market and they also have the right where they want to invest their money. There are billionaires  who are openly saying that they have crypto currency in their portfolio first thing that come to my mid is Mark Cuban.

If the issue is price manipulation I think they can really do it because of the resources they have but I think price manipulation has been happening without them there are already whales who are trying to manipulate the market as we speak.

I know some very rich people who have always invested in real estate and securities. A few months ago one of them tells me that for the first time in his life he bought cryptocurrencies. At that moment I understood that something was changing.

The largest amount of bitcoins is owned by a very small group of big investors and this small group has the power to make or break the price. They pump and dump in order to get more and more bitcoins. And they will not allow bitcoin going to zero, so there will be a significant price increase not too long from now.

Are you telling me that when it is known that billionaires buy Bitcoin, there will be many others who will follow through? Granting the latter statement is true, can 'others' actually buy Bitcoin considering its current value? We all know Bitcoin is not cheap to date.
