Be careful with web-based wallets and you will be good.

Just don't download any free software, don't read the email / download something that you don't know, don't random access to any URL that you don't know and don't use free WIFI !

Also make sure you have a a good anti-virus application and add MalwareBytes to your computer. Do NOT use Kaspersky antivirus. Enable the computer's firewall, and have a good firewall on your Internet connection (I recommend Sophos firewalls). Stay safe out there!

Also be careful on what you are clicking, try to distinguish a bogus link from a legit link. Never open an executable (.exe) file not unless it came from a trustworthy server, try checking on it's details first and see it the file size or parameters match it's supposed attributes. You can also try transferring your important files and documents on another separate or perhaps external hard drive to further your security and peace of mind. Invest in a robust antivirus also.
