Title: Is Cex.io a scam?
Post by: johanmichel on January 24, 2018, 03:06:29 PM
I made six withdrawals about ten days ago. One came through and next I got an email asking me for more information about the sources of my funds.

After I sent those documents I never heard back from them.

It's a lot of money and this is making me nervous.

Does anyone know what I can do?

Cex.io is in business for really long time so it is quite sure that they will not run away with your money.

They have strong KYC policy which every customer have to agree specially when you are dealing with large amount of money. So if you can provide all the docs they are asking than there is no need to panic alot, you will eventually get your money in your bank account.

These days their bank withdrawal have some delay so it might take longer than expected.

Good luck..

Please be patient CEX having a hard time with the tremendous withdrawal request they've been received from their users as also seen in this forum. Take time to read this message from CEX (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=148073)

We understand your concerns and we kindly ask for an apology for the delays in payment processing. Nevertheless, it does not depends on us but rather on our payment partner. They are currently overloaded with requests and do not manage to process them properly.
As for now, the payments in USD and GBP are rejected and the funds are turned back to users' accounts. Furthermore, we would like to inform that wire USD and GBP transactions will be temporarily disabled on the platform.
We will do our best to ensure that the all the users receive their funds in full.

We do not intend to hold customers' money for purpose as we understand that it has a negative impact on our reputation.
Unfortunately, we have currently got in the situation when the payments are processed longer than acceptable and longer than we want them to be.
We are currently looking for the better payment options. As for now, we kindly ask you to stay patient.

Same as the guy posted above as long you do have the legit documents to be presented then theres nothing you should worried about on to those funds. Give them sometime to validate those documents or let them verified and they will eventually return to you as soon as possible but for making it sure better to contact them for the sake of follow-up. For now the thing you can only do is to wait.

Can guarantee that they are not a scam. One of the most legit exchanges/services.
They probably ask you for that because of KYC.

You're trying to withdraw big amounts, correct?

They certainly are not scam as they are one of the oldest and reputed ones in the market and you should rest assured that they are not stealing your money...and if you are all the correct documents for KYC you don’t need to worry and just show some patience... you will get your all amount

And the most disturbing part in my opinion they don't really care about the tickets you send them to solve your problems. They have the worst support team that I've ever deal with so far.

I understand the frustration, but you can't write off a service based on a bad support experience. If you do that, then you can basically write off this entire market since nearly all exchanges have horrible support. I by no means try to justify their actions, but with how things have been developing in the last months due to the insane user demand, these services just can't cope with it in a professional manner. It's safe to say that this entire market, including Bitcoin itself can't properly cope with this level of demand. We experienced 2 years worth of user growth in a matter of 6 months, which is a great achievement, but also an obstacle right now.

They are NOT a scam but their customer service stinks. You just have to be patient. They take a week to respond every time you email them!!!!

They are good in every way maybe now they have little time to dill with this cuz they are preparing new system that will allow some new users to create account with them now. But eventually they will resolve your problem this is one of good exchanges and this is the only one that allows me withdrawal money in my local bank without any hesitations.

Bottom line is if they ask something from you deliver to them, and they will fix this issue with you in less then 24h.
