Title: I got scammed by FAKE ETHERDELTA WANCHAIN
Post by: ISLANDcryptoG on January 25, 2018, 12:12:30 AM
Hello. I have been trading for little over a month and wanted to say hello. I have been reading this website like 8 hours a day for a month and got a lot of good information out of it and wanted to thank everyone on this awesome forum.

I also wanted to warn others about a fake Steemit article. I was really mad I missed the WAN ICO once I read and researched what they were trying to do. I started reading about WAN articles and happened to read the FAKE Steemit article where they have a link for you to buy it from ETHERDELTA. Once you click on that link, you'll be in Eitherdelta and they're actually selling WAN. I got too excited and greedy, I wasn't thinking straight.

I rushed to sell couple of my other coins to trade it into BTC then to ETH so I could buy some WAN at Eitherdelta. Transactions were smooth but couldn't move them to Wanchan wallet that I downloaded using the same site. I thought that was weird. So I used my Eidoo wallet to transfered the Wan. Once I got the confirmation, it was in my wallet but it was weird since it said WAN? on the logo. What the hell is that question mark? I thought to myself and it hit me. I searched Youtube videos about WAN and the CEO actually came on Youtube on DEC 28TH to WARN others not to buy WAN from ETHERDELTA since they will not honor it. I had no clue people could be selling fake coins on ETHERDELTA. I was rushing to buy because of my greed.

I bought 105000.000 WAN that I can't sell to anyone because I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. I'm sure if I read the comments on the bottom before I clicked that link, I would have been fine since I just noticed there were few people who warned not to click on that link but my greed got better of me. I always learn the lesson the hard way.

Here is the link for that fake STEEMIT article so you'll know in the future if you come across one.

Wanchain (https://coincodex.com/crypto/wanchain/) is not trading yet. You should be careful with EtherDelta nonofficial listings. Better wait for it to get listed on Binance or Bittrex.

Sometimes we must be strict and secure our accounts or ethereum wallet when we sign up in some trading sites.

Sad story, Man.

I would also add for the newcomers that before buy some token that you excited about or read in some sort of article watch the official site of this coin. Is there info about this coin on the coinmarketcap.com? If not then watch in the telegram official group/channel pinned post and than decide. If you dont have skills to verify validation of the particular token on the etherdelta then just don't buy it.

Be aware that most of the articles are being made by regular users, they not professionals and some of them have bad reputation already. Same for the youtubers. Watch how some youtubers promote odyssey protocol when it made 7x+ of the ICO price. Is it good for the newcomer? Obviously not!

People who don't analyse market regularly can't predict and understand what is average price increase of the token after some news about some low exchange or about partnerships with some companies. Especially when it doesnt have public information about capitalisation of the company. It's hard to analyse the influence of this news then.

Hi,

You were not scammed by fake etherdelta wanchain.  You were scammed by Wanchain. The token on ED was the right one. Rigth adress. This is why they are recognised on your wallet. They did not want their icon participant to trade the token before the release of Wancoins, but they did not locked their tocken either, so that they were perfectly tradeable. This is crypto, this is decentralization ! Their ICO participantd accepted their terms and conditions (note that the t&c are not even clear about this), but not you.

This was their mistake. They say now that it was to allow their participant to move wallet, for security reasons. That is not true. There would have been no problem with locked token.

They say it's your fault because you should have looked for infos. Don't you think an ICO investor should be able give an adress that was secure withut having to move his token ? (so again the reason why token were unlocked are false).

Now you lose because of them. Any comment that is explaining this on the internet is erased right away. They are so goog at marketing, now even people like you think ED is crap and his a scam...

Do you think it is fair that the token you bought, someone bought them in the ICO, and Wanchain will burn them ? They were paid for these token ! And these token were not stolen !

Do you think it is fair that maybe the guy that sold you the token was an ICO participant, who sold at hight price on ED, took the money, bought again at low price when Wanchain released their video on non accepting the ED token, and now, Wanchain will swap his token for Wancoins but not yours ?

You have leggally exactly the same rights as any token holder to receive Wancoins. Or at the minimum, you should receive eth amount for the price a token sold at ICO.

They are not even able to lock their token and they want to build a cross chain !

I tell you, wait for all the people like you to organise and go into lawsuit. What they did is really unfair. This never happened on the crypto sphere. A ERC20 token that was unlocked could always be put on trade. They did not assume their responsability.

A shame that no body in the crypto sphere; like Vitalik, did not even react. They don't care about people loosing their money to make them richer.

Hi,

Thank you!

You're right. It's the right address to wanchain. I just realized that it wasn't a fake coin.I read from many other forums that people are still buying WAN from Etherdelta. I always try to message them not to buy from Etherdelta and I was able to save a few but seems like many people are still falling for this. This really left bad impression on etherdelta and WAN. I would never buy WAN again even if they sell it on exchanges. I just don't trust them anymore. I just messaged a person who was asking how to buy WAN on etherdelta not to buy anything off etherdelta. It's crazy how many people still fall for this. I still have 105000 WAN in my eidoo wallet and still don't know what to do with them.

It's not nice to hear such stories. Can't you do anything to recover your loss?
