Title: What's up with the inflated bid/asks volume?
Post by: nazgulnarsil on July 12, 2011, 02:17:09 PM
the bids disappear when the market moves.  could someone sell 30k coins and only move the market to $12 instantly?

I believe if you put in a sell order big enough to clear them out you should be able to wipe them out

not sure if people are running bots that automatically retract bids or if that is even possible

I'd love to see somebody who has way too many btc to just do that for the lulz.

and then they should create a thread like " nice buy wall, fag ! "

that's exactly what I'd be doing If I had 10k+ coins.  The market woud move downwards out of fear and you could rebuy and make a profit.

Most likely they have a sell set to 13.50001 and a shitload set at 13.5

When the 13.501 sells it triggers the 13.5 to sell.

What would be the point of this?

High orders will move but those lower are with purpose and won't move, we had this situation earlier, resistance was found at 210$, and no matter how desperate situation been people hold it there. It was an oportunity of a life!
