I'm sorry for those people will get offended in this post. I know a lot of you praising the merit system and some of you especially shitposters were critizing the merit system  can we please stop creating new threads about the merit system and move on? And if you have questions, rants, and suggestions about the merit system, please post it on merit system thread instead in that way, we can reduce the spam in meta thread that's all.

This will automatically stop after some time. As people get used to all this, they will focus on other sections. S o far as the people complaining are concerned, they will also realize that there is no point in doing so. You can use the ignore option if you do not want to see these.

It would have better if the moderators can merge similar threads but I think they are busy with other important tasks.

I guess we won´t see an end to this as long as people try to copy
the success of the users kaar and cho99.

Personally, I think the merit system has another downside that could potentially
become visible in the next few weeks. The opening poster of every thread is much more likely
to receive merits than a high-quality reply that is buried on page 17 of a thread with 23 pages. This
could incentivize people, who mainly post in order to receive merits to create new
threads instead of participating in existing discussions.

Let´s hope that I´m wrong and this is an unfounded worry.

merit is now a new thing. some of them have been reproducing posts just to pursue activities and positions to follow bounty.

why people make new posts about merit?
Because it's the easiest way to get merit points (70% of merit points happen in meta section )

I noticed this too, might be true that some newbs have noticed there's a high chance of receiving a lot of merits this way.
There is a disproportional amount of merits being given away here versus other threads  :D
And I wouldn't exactly call all of these constructive.

The answer is to have one mega merit thread, and to merge all merit threads into that after they have been flying solo for a couple of days.

If that creates too much work for the mods, then have a merit archive board, and move threads into that after a couple of days.
