I don't want to use the notion " quality of Good leader", but quality of a leader. Why? Because no matter how one try, the phrase GOOD can not be justified. As a leader, your actions set the tone for what is appropriate in any field you find yourself because you are a role model and many people wants to learn from you. Exhibit habit that you want the society to be, always remember the change you are looking for begins with you.
Be able to communicate effectively, a better society can only be achieved via effective communication and most important you build trust from people on how you communicate with each others.
Be humble, always acknowledge others idea,  and to grant it all be CREATIVE AND ORIGINAL.

It's about developing one's self. I don't believe in being a born leader stuff. It's about experience. You can't lead with little knowledge. You can't lead if you don't have confidence. You can't lead if you don't have the voice. Now, where do you get those? At school! You learn, you gain confidence, and most importantly, you are taught how to speak. Being a leader must come to yourself first. Focus at school, be obedient because no leader are in their shoes who weren't used to be followers.

A leader should be undoubtedly confident in him self and appreciative towards other team members. They have vision, courage, integrity, humility and focus along with the ability to plan strategically and catalyze cooperation amongst their team.

Leader is the one should wear a good quality and characteristics to let others follow what they see. Being a leader is being influential even you doesn't mean it. Other will observe without any words to say. Leader is worthy to be followed by the followers. Followers are looking to be followed.

I tried to become a leader but I surrendered being a leader because it's not easy to motivate people or advise people what they should do, it's not easy to manage many people so I think leadership is not suited for me because all I mentioned is not my skills or maybe I don't have the self-confidence :(

But in my experience the quality of a leader be it a government official, a boss at work or even a leader of a group for a project, are very specific and are rare in a collection. For me, motivating people to head for a single goal for the betterment of the whole group is one thing. 7. MUST DELEGATE AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY if he does not do this, there is not enough time to accomplish a great deal.

8. MUST CHECK, AFTER THIS DELEGATION, TO SEE THAT RESULTS ARE OBTAINED.   The leader must have progress reports not only for his own information but also to gauge personnel in preparation for his next delegation of authority.

9.  MUST EVALUATE HIS TIME.  A busy person does not have time to explain carefully a directive to a subordinate, and in most cases tell him the reason why he wants it done.  Otherwise, it is likely to get all snarled up and have to be handled twice which a busy person does not have time to do.

10.  DOES THE IMPORTANT IN MOST CASES, INSTEAD OF THE URGENT. It is so easy to decide and handle the easy ones.  So often the temptation is to put aside a difficult decision until the easy ones are finished, in the hope that some additional easy ones come up to further postpone the important.

We, ourselves, can be leaders if we want to. A good leader should value the importance of his congregation. He should be a good example to his fellow people and should know how to follow rules first. In an engineering project one must posses a leadership skills in order to accomplish a project. To be a good leader, for me, one must possess the following qualities.
1. Honesty and Integrity. You should be someone who can be trusted. Your subordinate can rely on his opinion.
2. Inspire Others. Being a leader does not mean you will do all the work. Being a good leader, you must be able to do jobs through your subordinates.
3. Commitment and Passion. You must be committed to what you do. Your work will be worthless if you dont love your craft.
4. Good Communicator. You must be able to express your idea and commands both oral and written.
5. Decision-Making Capabilities. You must be able to decide logically as problem arises. Your decision will be intrumental to solve the problem.
6. Accountability. You must be accountable on both failures and accomplishment. You should not let your subordinates bear all problems when there is failure.
7. Delegation and Empowerment. You must trust your subordinates and give them task you know they can accomplish.
8. Creativity and Innovation. Lastly, a good leader must be creative and innovative to improve things within the organization.

These are just something a remembered in our management subject. You should apply these things to become a leader and research for more to become the best. You might not be the best now but you can be in the future.

Well I believe that like other traits which are influenced by your genes or environment, leadership traits can also be expressed either as an acquired trait or something inborn. A person might be prone to make certain choices or decisions in life because the person is genetically programmed to do such. Similarly, a person might just pick it up from years of conditioning too.
But then the means of acquisition does not matter as long as you become a leader.

From the word itself lead , and there are many qualities of being a leader. But for me the most is having a fear on God , having a mercy and a hope , a good model to influence not just the people but the whole world. There are some born to be leader and there are some too that wanted a leader. I hope one day there will be a leader who stand among all corrupt government and bring peace not war.
