Title: Sweeping dust accounts on a Ledger Nano S
Post by: jc12345 on January 28, 2018, 07:20:28 AM
I am trying to sweep SegWit dust accounts on a Ledger Nano S to a new account but it seems that there is always a little bit of BTC that remains. Selecting MAX does not select the whole balance. Net amount plus fees never equals total. I have also tried custom fees in various combinations and sizes up to 1000/byte by trial and error but I can never get it to the total in the wallet.

Any ideas of what the best way is to clean out all accounts, or is there another client I can hook the Ledger to with coin control so that I can manually select the problematic blocks?

Electrum is compatible with the Ledger Nano S, and you can even use the SegWit wallet.

File -> New\Restore -> Standard wallet -> use a hardware device -> connect Ledger Nano S and unlock with PIN, select "Bitcoin" app when prompted -> set the derivation path to: m/49'/0'/0'

This will import your SegWit wallet from the Ledger... (Note: For "legacy" wallet use default derivation path of m/44'/0'/0')

Coin control is available using "View -> show coins". Simply "Ctrl+click" the coins you want to spend, then right click and select "spend".

Although, you should find that if you just click the "max" button on the "send" tab it should do a good job of spending everything! ;)

Excellent. Thank you very much. Will try this.
