Title: Home Mining
Post by: CutterSnake on January 31, 2018, 05:25:42 AM
Hey Guys,

first of all i rly hope that i am posting this in the right place. I find it kinda hard to get the right place to ask because even i do have a question regarding bitcoin mining i do know that it is too a question about GPU mining.

Bitcoin mining questions go here - gpu questions go into altcoin ? So ... if this is wrong here i apologize for that mistake.

My Question is as mentioned before to the topic of bitcoin mining. Atm i am using NiceHash Legacy on both my PCs but i bet there is a better way to mine, right ?
If yes - you do not need to explain but i would like you to link just to the page so i can read by myself. You do not need to waste your time explaining something that is allready done here in the forum.

First of all - my Hardware:

PC 1:
Threadripper 1950x @ 3.9GHz (enermax 360 cooling)
32GB Dominator RAM
1080Ti MSI Lightning Z

PC 2:
i7 5820k
16GB G.Skill IV
980 Ti Palit Super Jetstream

As you can see these Rigs are NOT made to be miner but workstation PCs.

PC 1 Nicehash Results:

CPU CryptoNight: 704.100 H/s
GPU Equihash: 719.450 Sols/s

PC 2 Nicehash Results:

https://i.imgur.com/lvA03Ub.jpg

CPU CryptoNight: 359.200 H/s
GPU EquiHash: 488.240 Sol/s

So as you can see my 1080 Ti is doing around 250Sols more then my 980Ti - would you say this is normal ?

And - as i said at the start of this post... Just point me to something i should look into. Like the BFGMiner looks interesting but needs to be checked out more before i can say more about it.

I rly wish you all the best and thank you for reading till here

Mike

Well you can mine a decent amount with your GPU and CPU if you have decent electricity bills I recommend mining GOA or QIBC with your GPUs using ccminer and try mining ETN or Intense with your CPU you can make a decent money that way.

That TR 1950x can do almost 2x the hashes on Cryptonight that you're currently getting. And the Lightning Z can do more Sol/s as well. Check out the moneromining subreddit for tips on Cryptonight CPU setup with XMR Stak.
