Title: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: m4rkw on February 01, 2018, 12:01:48 AM Hi
I have released three mining tools: Minotaur - a miner driver for Nicehash that currently supports excavator, ccminer (tvpruvot / alexis78) and xmrig-nvidia. It features automated power calibration and near-realtime algorithm switching for maximum profits. Currently only works with the Nicehash pool and Nvidia cards but we plan to support CPU mining soon and lots of other cool stuff is in the pipeline. Fanotaur - an independent daemon that monitors card temperatures in order to keep them cool and adjusts fan speeds as necessary Excavataur - a shim project that creates a unified excavator-style API interface wrapper for CLI miners, so that we can easily add new miners to Minotaur. Minotaur is supported by donation, default 5% but can be lowered. https://github.com/m4rkw/minotaur https://github.com/m4rkw/fanotaur https://github.com/m4rkw/excavataur These are in very early stages of development but are fairly stable. Feedback is very welcome as are bug reports via github! Title: Re: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: m4rkw on February 08, 2018, 02:19:31 PM Minotaur 0.9.7 now supports fallback to Ethereum pool mining (via ethermine.org) if its more profitable than Nicehash.
Support for more pools is planned soon. Title: Re: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: hopfi2k on February 08, 2018, 02:38:35 PM Hi,
This is a very interesting - and heavily underestimated! - project. It definitely needs more attention. Could you please elaborate more on this?: Quote Minotaur is supported by donation, default 5% but can be lowered. 5% of what? Furthermore it would be great to have support for DSTM (I haven't tried to use it through excavataur though...). Thanks, Andy Title: Re: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: m4rkw on February 08, 2018, 02:42:48 PM Hi
It donates hashpower - 5% means 5 minutes in 100 minutes. If you lower it to 1% then it's 1 minute in 100 minutes. You can set the length of the main refresh cycle yourself, by default it's 15 seconds but if you set it to more than a minute then it will donate for longer because it will only update everything on the interval that you set. We currently support excavator, two variants of ccminer and xmrig_nvidia. Support is planned for as many miners as possible and our shim project excavataur wraps any cli-based miner with a generic excavator-like API interface so they're very easy for us to add. Is this the one you're talking about? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0 Title: Re: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: hopfi2k on February 08, 2018, 05:44:56 PM Hi It donates hashpower - 5% means 5 minutes in 100 minutes. Maybe you should lower the default to attract more people? (some will scare the 5%, so they won't even give it a try...just my 2 cents)! Yes, this is the miner, I was talking about (DSTM (http://"https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0")). Cheers, Andy Title: Re: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: m4rkw on February 08, 2018, 10:05:16 PM Hi
Thanks for the thought but I don't think a configurable donation tier with a default of 5% is a significant deterrent. You need to be a reasonably competent Linux admin to use Minotaur in the first place, if we lose a few potential users because they were somehow daunted by the idea of changing a "5" to a "1" in a config file then that's probably a good thing because it means I won't have to deal with their support questions. Also, Minotaur 0.9.8 was just released, new features: - we now support dynamic calibration adjustment so the calibrated hashrates can fluctate over time and this is taken into account when making profitability decisions - CSV stats collection - summary report Code: $ minotaur --stats its only been collecting since 1pm today so that's why it doesn't have much data yet :) next on our hitlist is support for more miners and pools - DSTM is on the list Title: Re: Minotaur v0.7.5 Post by: m4rkw on February 13, 2018, 11:13:22 AM Latest Minotaur now supports ZEC pool mining via flypool which is currently (usually) more profitable than Nicehash.
Also we now have an irc support channel - #minotaur on freenode |
