Title: any ASICs after Terraminer IV?
Post by: jk_14 on September 03, 2013, 09:48:43 AM
It seems Terraminer and maybe Monarch - could close the door in mining hardware, for long time.
What do you think?

P.S.
not only "just for PM" question :)

but miner's money do not grow with Moore's law
money saturation deficit won't help Moore's law

If you believe in BFL power consuption estimates, then you might be right

right now - every next asic venture will get lower amount of money from preorders
bussiness case may not be fulfilled
until money in old preorders will return in bitcoins

Every new generation of ASIC will bring increased performance and power efficiency.

P.S.
"maybe" shows my level of belief in BFL announcements...

maybe not enough, using 28nm process already
and there is no "multicore" workaround, like in CPU architecture
multicore is here the base...

Thinking there won't still be a race is naive. Not thinking a race would evolve new products is stupid.
Only thing that can stop faster machines is if Bitcoin as a currency fails.

not seeing what preorders have included to this race - either...
