What are your views on pedophiles, are they criminals that deserve to be punished or just different?

You can't punish someone on basis of what they like, only on what they do.
This is exactly what they are punished for and it should stay that way.

Children are not allowed to make important decisions in society for a good reason.
So even consensual relation with underaged individuals should be strictly punished.

A child has no enough knowledge and experience to decide for its own.
So every sexual activities with a child below legal age of consent should be considered a crime.

Is this really a question? if they should be punished? like what seriously?, they should be punished real hard because kids can't decide and act for themselves, they are too innocent for that even you tell me that they did it on their on accord, but pedophiles that don't prosecute their fetishes towards children must not be punished since the only thing that makes them a criminal is when they act.

A "pedophile" is the worst thing you can call a person - as pedophiles prey on the innocent.

As a result, when people are mad, they choose the worst thing they can. 

Why call someone a liar or thief or racist when you can simply claim they are attracted to the children we love so dear?

I don't believe that you can call someone different when they are hurting others. Pedophilia is an illness and i think that thous who suffer from it should take all the measures to prevent the child abuse, they should ask for help.

I agree. If I have to chose a single group of criminals who deserve the death penalty, then I would definitely chose the pedophiles. They are the most evil group of humans and I can't imagine a crime which is more vile than raping a child. And here in India, there is no shortage of such vile people. That's another ill social phenomena that we have to deal with and try to fix. Kids should be told that there are things that should be done after passing the age limit, otherwise it will harm them physically. Of course, that's a criminal act, and the older partner should be properly investigated and punished, because a kid may not realize the consequences but adults do and they take the responsibility for that. EVEN if the kid initiates it and pushes for it, the adult should block that by any means.

I know my thoughts are too idealistic, but my point is that pedophills bear the full responsibility for that and they are the ones that just criminally punished!

Pedophiles should be banished to remote islands, like leper colonies.
On these islands they can make their own society and live out their lives peacefully, but there are no children on the island, only other pedophiles.
there is also a coast guard boat circling the island in case they try to leave or somehow acquire children to abuse.

I hate them. They took advantage from kids. They didn't realize things they did to the kids could cause so much trauma and hurt. Pedophil should be punished. Isolated them, do not let them coming back to society. And for the parents, we must be careful and try not to trust somebody that easily.

I think its a sickness of the mind that can be helped and should NEVER be acted upon. I think it is a sick desire for innocence because it is deemed as sexually appealing. It is very low and animalistic even. I feel like it is almost the lowest form of animalistic tendencies, besides beastiality.

Those laws are specific to your country.  In Canada, you are considered a pedophile if you have sexual relations with someone under 16.  If they are 16 or over, it's free game.   Canada is even thinking of lowering the drinking age from 18 to 16.  :/

I think pedophilia is a disease that requires special treatment. There needs to be a special team to handle pedophiles. Pedophiles are not bad people, but they have to be healed.

In that case, what is your opinion about Japan? The legal age of consent there is 13 years. And as far as I know, no one has been sentenced to jail there for having sex with someone aged between 13 and 16. Even worse is the case with Saudi Arabia. It is legally possible for a 60-year old man to marry a 5-year old girl and then have sex with her.

    I beleive pedophiles have serious lobby in government and religious structures. Our president has kissed random kid to navel in public, some people think it is ok, but most of us find such behaviour unacceptable. I can clearly see what he means, he shows that high ranked pedophiles are acceptable in our country. What about religion it has its own rules which dont blame children abuse.

This isn't even a debate. In any aspects old men/women are way ahead on any child, mentally and physically.

Grown ups should be the one to protect kids from possible harmful things in the kid's environment. Kids won't be able to fight for their own unless someone else help them to.

Kids should be nurtured and protected, not abused by individuals who are incapable of controlling their urges especially against younger childs.

When they commit the crime, then they should be tried by the law and sentenced appropriately as a result made to register as an offender so that wherever they go people will know about it and protect their children accordingly because pedophiles never stop taking advantage of children ever.
