Personally I do not like ICOs. The reason is that I like graphs and data and look at data; ICOs provide very little of this. So I only invest when they are established somewhat. Maybe I am losing out, but better safe than sorry.

I usually read the forum. If I like any project, I start to study it, I look at the project rating on the icobench, I study the documentation. There is nothing complicated, but one can not always guess with a choice.

With a good experience active team behind, good whitepaper, good roadmap, nice marketing strategies and feedbacks from the investors. I can say that its a good characteristic of a good ICOs. There are only few good ico so you have to choose very carefully.

Rightnow, there are too many icos and some of this are scam and some are not.

There are good ICO's but most of them are scams. Look at the technology behind it and if there's real use cases, check the team behind it, check the whitepaper and roadmap. Always DYOR and invest what you can afford to lose.

These kind of sites are really helpful for the newbies who want to invest on the ICO project but manully you have to analyze the project by checking their website, white paper, development and social media accounts.

Here are some of the things to remember before investing in ICOs.
1. Check the idea of project, mostly unique ideas get more attraction than existing one.
2. Read the whitepaper, it has everything you need to learn about project and check other legal proofs.
3. Check the team behind, whether they have any previous experience in cryptos or they are freshers. BTW It doesn't mean that freshers can't propose good ICOs but you can track the history record of team.
4. Sponsors and partners, a project with strong and reputed partners (companies) have high probability of success.
5. Check the views from experts, you can check the ratings on icobench and some other experts on different platforms.

You will need to take the time to go through the ICO in detail as much as you can, look at the idea and decide if it is just hot air or actually something that holds water.

If the developers are known then it would make sense to check as much of their history as you can.

Pretty much you can do your best to do everything and there is still no guarantee that it will be a success.

I use twitter, telegram, bitcointalk, reddit, icoalerts and icodrops to find upcoming icos.

I only invest in ICOs that have a protoype/alpha/beta/working product. This demonstrates that they have already invested a good amount of time into the project and is an indication that the project is unlikely to be a scam. I also look for a good idea (infrastructure or blockchain) and a team with enough relevant experience to pull it off.

You can follow Ian Balina's Youtube Channel. ICO rating sites are also good places to be aware of potentially good ICOs. You can also follow bounty thread of the ICOs. If there is a high participation, you can make some search about the ICO.

Nowadays its very hard to find good projects which are running initial coin offerings. So its not like end of 2017 which you can invest in any ico and get some huge profit. ICO's gives good opportunity to get profits but it depends if the project become successful, for me is easy to find good icos just learn what is goals of the project in the communities and check the people inside the project if  have good reputations.

Many people have asked this question, there are many ways to validate a good ICO, But it is important that you view the community of that ICO, see who the manager is really knowledgeable about the ICO project, the comments of members in the community. In my opinion, it is better to make your own research and trust your guts.
I was asking myself what to do when cryptocurrency goes down and found out that the most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I see a good ICO by looking at a transparent team otherwise I'm not sure about the ico, choosing ico project is very difficult maybe this is not one good choice, but there must be something interesting in an ICO

I love Wings platform for finding new ICO's. By forecasting there I am earning free tokens. And to make a good valuation forecast I am researching the projects by reading whitepapers, investigating team, social media presence etc.

I'm really not an ICO type of person you can find good ICO's using your common senses, when I'm choosing an ICO there's no criteria but if I'm going to invest to ICO I just follow my guts and asking myself this questions

1. Is this token will be used in the future? (Most probably it's a good ICO if the coin or token is useful after many years)
2. Where I can use this tokens?
3. Who're the team behind this project?
4. Are they legit?
5. Is the whitepaper is just promising or it can be implemented or it can really be done?
6. Is the roadmap and other technical details are achieved?

Well even though I'm doing that there are some times wherein I ended up investing into a scam. I learned here that you can't really spot some Scammers so Invest only what you can afford to lose. After all investment is one of the most profitable and yet the riskiest.

We need to find to good ICO projects means in my view first we need to check this ICO project has been opened up for what reason and really the team is capable to manage the ICO project well together.

An important factor that is not mentioned enough is the token economic. A good ICO must have realistic Hard and Soft cap and also a good explenation behind the amount of money they intend to raise. Also there should be enough information as for how the money will be distributed. That information is very easy to find, you need not more than 5 minutes to find that in the ICOs website or whitepaper. If that information is missing then either the project is a scam or the team behind it is higly incompetent. In both cases you should avoid investing your money in it. You can use some websites like ICO bench to verify the team and the project.  Those sites can stil be misleading  but they are a good start.  you basically have to do your own research and have a little faith.

Honestly speaking there is no perfect way of finding a legit ICO because many times we have seen scams where the team behind the project was active on social media and amount raised was transparent but still the project got scammed. So you truly can't locate faults in the project but still you can try by reading the whitepaper or investigating about the past work of the project or analyze the utility they are offering and future of the ICO and you can have a legit one in your hand.

i usually follow some popular telegram groups to find good icos. if many of them advise the same ico i check and try to join. but joining icos is not easy nowadays because of kyc approments. even if your kyc is approved, they give you a very little space to invvest.

2.   Don’t get along with the high goals. The unrealistic gals are mainly scams.

2. Do some research on the ico you want to invest. Dip research to the whole team developer and the company behind the ico.
3. Reseacrh product and read the whitepapper. Is the project possibly created or just dream.
4. Read the smart contract and the code on their github.
5. Tracj the progress from pre ico to the ico date and track the dev words..are they keep their words or no.

Checking ICO background, team mates and its road map is not 100% guarantee of selecting a good ICO to engage with, and yes its a big help for our decision making but still at the end only investors or the people can decide if they are adapting the product of that particular ICO, so its important to think what is the ICO's intention and what product they have, or we can as a question for our self if the product is useful for the people or even ordinary people? or is it realizable? or maybe at the end the luck and fortune can tell.

Initially I did think about it in the same way too! Later realized if you do find the right opportunity and act diligently it can really give you good returns.

I would tell you my personal experience, I invested in an ICO last September an amount of 500 USD and received 35000 tokens, in the December 2017 bull run, one token went upto 0.7USD! I was new and I was not much experienced as to what needs to be done and eventually the prices crashed back to real lows. If I did know what needs to be done in a bull market I would have experienced really healthy profits.

So my point is ICO's are super super lucrative but its getting increasingly hard to get in but there is nothing like trying.

I do not understand why you should look for it in such a market. I have not been investing in ICO in this market and I feel good because I do not lose money there as many investors, and why do you need it?

The goods icos are usually having the qualities but those are most dependent upon the concept of the coin upon which you can distinguish between a good ico and a bad one but keep in mind that coins that seem too attractive are most of the times fraudulent in nature as well
