I am sure that we cannot merit our own posts (I remember that I read it somewhere).

Like how "edit" and "delete" buttons are available only to our own posts, why not have our own posts without "merit" button.

Not a big suggestion but good to have as per what we have in practice, right ?

Nah, waste of processing power.  I like being able to click on "Merit" anyway to see how much sMerit I have left.  :)

You cannot see "+Merit" on any post when you have zero sMerits left. You are able to check your sMerits balance by clicking any post's "+Merit" and it does not need to be your own post's.

I see a sign "+Merit" above my own posts, but I have never tried to use it. It is just like to like your own picture, right?!
Our own posts have both "edit" and "delete" and they are awailable for use. I really do not get why you say it is "NOT".

Eh, it's extra lines of code for nothing substantial. While we're at it, we might as well add an option that allows us to toggle viewing our own signature, avatar and personal text. It would seem unnecessary, and only serve to remove utility at the cost of, as Vod said, processing power. I don't even see, notice or look at the merit button unless I have been genuinely impressed, amused or informed by a user's post. I have never been reading my own posts and then thought to myself "That darn +Merit button, gets me every-time.", nor do my own posts catch me off guard.

I just don't see who this would be helping, and given the limited resources of the staff I wouldn't see this as a priority by any means. Sometimes it is helpful, but it never gets in the way, I don't see the problem.

   Merit system have it flaws. I gave you merit so we can do something
together in making this system works better.
  Merit system should be for people to give to another people. If we give
it to ourselves then it will lose a point, right?
   I do not have a clear opinion about Merit system for now. In some moments
I like it, and in some I do not. Looks like a lot of work is waiting for develpores.

Good you know that one cannot give sMerit to him or her self, so removing it has nothing to change but as it is now I believe it help someone to know how many of sendable sMerit you have left to give out to deserve it.
