Title: Nvidia rig not recognizing cards help please
Post by: adamantasaurus on February 14, 2018, 04:15:07 AM
Hello All,

SO I had my hard drive crash and I just replaced it I used a cloner to clone the hard drive from one of my other rigs and hooked it up, it has 6 nvidia gtx 1070 cards on it but is only recognizing 4 with a asrock Mobo. It's giving me this error when I go into device manager on the cards it is not recognizing...\

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

Does anyone know what this means and how I fix it?

Thanks

go into the bios of your motherboard, put mode 2gen and turn on Above 4G
if it does not help, use the Display Driver Uninstaller program for delete driver nvidia
instal old drivers for nvidia version 388.71
faced the same problem a week ago

Search in bios 4G and manipulate with this setting, and reistall drivers. Install GPU one by one from upper to downer pci-ex slot

Uninstall graphics card driver completely and then reinstall it.

Try F2 upon restart, If it happens that you enabled ultra fast boot, then its impossible to hit the key and probably will go straight to OS boots, there are recommendation in the links below as to use Asrock software then Restart in UEFI options.

Boring way:
unplug all the card except one
disable onboard video card on bios
disable integrated sound on bios
set PCIe Gen2 on bios
new installation of win10
install nvidia driver
shutdown
install card#2
boot win
shutdown
install card#3
boot win
shutdown
etc..

Edit: or just use linux  ;D

Code 12?

Update to Windows 10 1709 with at least the Jan. 2018 Cumulative Update.

Did you have tried reinstalling your Windows 10? If you stuck on that problem, you could try with fresh installation Windows on your rig.

Hey guys so I've finally had the time to try and fix the issue and I got into the BIOS but when I'm in there my mouse and keyboard both DONT WORK?! grrr this is frustrating haha. Does anyone know why that is happening? I'm going to contact ASrock later today.

Seems you have the same scenario as this

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1766597/usb-keyboard-work-boot-solved.html

Code:
I have a usb keyboard, it's not working before boot on my system. I am aware that some BIOS disable usb to speed boot along

you may try clearing the BIOS by taking out batteries

but this has a good point

Code:
Your keyboards probably are working, if you have the usb options enabled in your bios.
However, for some reason, the F2, and in fact all the F buttons, do not work during post. Most of you are pressing F2 when offered the choice of F2 or Del, and so assume your usb keyboard doesn't work in POST, and plug in your old ps2, to make your bios adjustments.
I know all of this because it happened to me.
There are two ways to 'fix' it:
Hit del instead of F2, or
You probably have a FN button on your KB. Press that at the same time as F2.

Yea the keyboard works when I start the computer, I can't enter the bios by hitting f2 or del I had to dl the program the poster mentioned earlier to boot into the bios. They keyboard and mouse don't work in the bios but they do work if I just reboot and run the computer they work fine.

EDIT Nvm I read the article after I posted lol.

Have you tried keyboard only? without mouse connected I mean. Unplug all the devices, means only mobos powered by PSU with RAM and keyboard plugged. Use USB 2.0 port instead of 3.0 if possible.
