Title: Awarding Merit for quality posts [Newbies - Jr Members]
Post by: Heisenberg_Hunter on February 14, 2018, 12:57:50 PM
My smerits are getting clogged up in my account and I am figuring out a way to merit a few to help Newbies and Jr Members in ranking up. I can clear up these smerits at a stretch in a day or two by giving to Sr and Hero members who have been making great posts, but I would receive a certain privilege if I rank up Newbies.

I have totally 19 merits to give for 19 quality posts.

- Newbies/Jr Members are the guys whom I will merit.
- Hence if you have made a quality posts and feel it has not been merited, kindly post it here.
- Highest merit I can give for a post is 1, as I don't have enough merits with me.
- Remember, only a newbie who haven't got past 100 activity points can only post here. If you have crossed 100 and you still didn't receive any merits, I assume you are probably a bad poster.
- Jr Members with less than 120 activity points can apply here for the review.
- Please post only 1 post which you feel better in the sense you can get a merit.
- Never try to post useless posts here.
- Only submit posts written in English.
- I will be checking your previous posts before giving a merit.
- Do not quote this post.

Once I have awarded all the smerits available I will lock this thread and again reopen it when I have gained a few to award.

sMerits Available : 19

Though you are not a newbie as I mentioned above,I have given this post (http://"https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2613754.msg29186924#msg29186924") a Merit. Actually I loved the way how you gave the explanation and it was good in the sense you handled the answer. I cannot put a hand on other posts as it was already merited and moreover i don't have enough merits, sorry.  :)

Op here is my application for this :
;D You will not receive merit from me for this shitpost.  ;D

please check my post i really need merit

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1940746.msg29183854#msg29183854

You have replied to a mega reply thread which has around 1200+ replies and moreover you have mentioned a point which has been already said huge number of times here. Kindly reply to the topic which has really very low replies and your reply helps them. Hence I cannot merit this post. Sorry ???

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2259255.msg29178898#msg29178898
You being a full member must have improved your posting quality, and you had replied to a mega thread and your answer is not appealing neither to me nor it was helpful. Please improve your posting quality and come back and post here. Thank you.

EDIT:
Thanks for meriting me. But I think this rule about newbies is pretty meaningless and rather restrictive because you can become a Junior Member with no merits at all if I'm not mistaken. It is only for the latter and up the ladder where the lack of merits reveals itself. For example, you are already a Member while I'm still a Junior even though my activity is a little higher than yours.
Actually why I chose newbies is that they will not be getting much merits for their posts. If you need merits, just help out others who are searching for answers in Bitcoin Technical Discussion and Technical Support. If your answers are really helpful you will be receiving merits, so does the top members are top with their merits while we are not.

It's a typical broken English shitpost that doesn't deserve merit.

This post was not very helpful nor it was constructive. Hence I can't merit it and moreover I have very few merits to award. Sorry

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2968210
As other members commented on your topic,  a really silly topic for meriting it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2553100
A speculation topic which has nothing to do with quality post. Sorry will not be meriting it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2910839.msg30187471#msg30187471
No way helpful to anyone!

You still doesn't know what a quality post means. Not only me, no one will be meriting this pure shit. Try to read this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0) and educate yourself and resubmit here.

I have given Merit for this post. It was a good writing and will be helpful to many people who are new to the forum and getting scammed by lots of bad users around here. You could have posted the thread in Beginners thread or try to move them to the Beginners section and bump the thread so that newbies could read them and be aware.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2969998.msg30513964#msg30513964
Really very great informative thread which must be Merited for sure. Even though you have taken reference for posting, its sad many top members didn't give a merit for you.

You guys have really wasted such useful threads by posting in Shitty Bitcoin Discussion Thread which is filled with full of spam messages. My kind request is to move them to Beginners section and bump the threads so that newbies could read.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2983189.msg30674637#msg30674637
I could have given both of your posts a merit. But since I need to offer Merit for everyone I awarded only to 1. The post which you gave advice for newbie was really helpful and was really good and simple English.

I suggest eveyone who I have mentioned above to visit the bill gator merit sharing thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2819141.0) and share your posts. He helps everyone and gives merit for top quality posts. I suggest every senior member to share their merits, keeping merits with yourself is useless and may decay over time.

Sorry none of your posts are eligible for awarding merits. Twitter reaudit is really helpful and helps most people finding out their real/fake followers. I encourage you to continue doing this kind of work. It is very helpful. Thank you.

Not very informative or helpful. This kind of answer has been answered really huge number of times. Please feel free to resubmit if you feel any of your other posts was worth meriting.

• Little concept of Bitcoin Mining : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2976306.new#new

• Hash and Block : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2976798.new#new
Did you copy both of these posts from any site? I can't figure out why have you posted the Hash and Block thread in Technical Discussion. As someone below said, your information is already readily available in google, then why are you posting them here. It doesn't add to a discussion nor was a question seeking for a reply. Kindly move the thread to Beginners and Help so that it could be useful to someone around. Its clear that you have been trying to post some random informative things and trying to increase your post count. As nullius said,if its a copied post i will too be reporting it for copy/pasting. In the future don't try to post information which is considered useless here. I didn't give a merit for Bitcoin Mining thread because as already said it is not helpful and you already gained a merit for that.
If you feel my comment is harsh, just leave them aside and feel free to resubmit if you feel something is worth the merit.

I could have given this post a merit, but you have already received them thrice and I am running low on merits. You are a guy with really good posting quality and really good in getting merits. But why are you offering them rarely to posts? I suggest you to merit people frequently so that others too could get them.

In fact, you are right. I was not giving merits simply because I'm not quite used to that yet. There was no malicious intent really, it is more like a mental gap or an unexpected lack of awareness between receiving merits and giving them. After all, what's their use if not to spend them? I will definitely give out all my merits to worthy posters in the coming days, don't worry about that. Well, maybe I'll keep a couple for something truly extraordinary and insightful.

Bumping this thread after a 11 month inactivity since I am getting a hard time to find posts worthy of merits from Newbies.

Rules are changed slightly, feel free to apply and try to rank up soon.  :)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5111493.0
Talked about Full Node and Light Node. I am studying bitcoin for a couple of days and sharing my knowledge what I have learnt so that newbies can also understand these term easily.
I have given this post a Merit. Thanks for pointing out your topic on full nodes. Initially thought of awarding you 2 merits so that you don't have any difficulty in ranking up-to Member rank but you lack some basic info on Full Nodes, Pruned and Light Nodes. I have given my input in your thread, kindly check to it and add them up to your topic so that Newbies would have a better insight on these Nodes and how secure it is to run a full node.

I hope i can get merit
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5109764.msg49848921#msg49848921 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5109764.msg49848921#msg49848921)
Probably a broken English shitpost, but I have reviewed your 19 posts and felt this post about  How to Earn Cryptocurrencies free (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5109395.msg49718141#msg49718141) was worthy of 1 merit since you were a newbie and you need to learn more of this crypto world. Improve your post quality and your knowledge by reading through technical stuffs and some books on cryptography and bitcoin.

P.S Anyone applying in this topic for review, your posts would be deleted by me and be quoted in my review post so that this topic doesn't get clogged up with application spams.

Reviewing further applications to clear up my smerits.

@Heisenberg_Hunter Mind if I help "grading" posts that deserve merit(s)?

I hope i can get merit -snip-
Nothing substantial about the computation and definitely, you have no idea about the prices of KYC data in the "dark" web and what will be the applications of those sold personal info ;)

I hope i will get that 1 of 19 -snip-
I usually merit newbies with 1 liner post if it has sense and/or constructive honest opinion/question, but not these types.

Nice to meet you and this is my post, hope it will be helpful! -snip-
[+1 Merit] This one deserves merit however, most of his other posts were "generic replies" to topics with too many pages
which doesn't have a real conversation, just "monological answers".
Next time, choose the right topic (depending on your expertise) and as much as possible, participate to the conversation (like that merited post).

Very nice initiative and very noble from you.
I think that you will make some people very happy here on the forum :)
I have something similar in my Croatian sub forum where Croatian users can report good quality posts in Croatian and I give them merit for very good posts.
I hope more people will do something like this here on the forum and help others.
