Title: Cryptopia Scam - deposits from other exchanges
Post by: flashdave on February 17, 2018, 05:17:07 PM
for the last few days cryptopia has been accepting deposits from other exchanges but not crediting the transactions..

As you can clearly see blockchain transaction was successful but cryptopia does not credit the amount. Many people complaining about the same experience with no feedback from support.

Beware and get your money out of Cryptopia before they implode.

Just to bump this.  I heard rumors, so started moving all my stuff off today.

Well, Verge and Pirl and probably many other currencies are "under maintenance" if you try to withdraw them.

But, Ella and Sumo, and Expanse are all up and running however, my withdrawals of those currencies have not hit the blockchain after a few hours.

What does work is selling your currencies and sending litecoin or bitcoin.  Both of those worked perfectly.

I have a lot of sumo and pirl stuck in PENDING, now.

This is a conversion I have received https://etherscan.io/tx/0xeafc7e517684ce163622f4e94452e59cb57899f0c224b940d35d378b19590ba3
I did not get into my the transfer on the platform ,because the platform did not support smart contract transfers. I set up a ticket, and now I've tracked the transfer again. The money has gone out of my wallet into another portfolio that belongs to the cryptopia platform.

See the conversion https://prnt.sc/ifx47s

A screen shot from within my account in cryptopia shows that the conversion is not received https://prnt.sc/ifx4ny
i sent Complaint to a Financial Dispute Resolution Service https://fdrs.org.nz/

That's just stupid.

Coinbase is considered to be a wallet of first choice for many newbies. So when it says in the disclaimer that it does not accept any deposits from exchanges, people don't think of coinbase straightaway since they think that it's a wallet.

Not just deposits it seems, but also withdrawals being delayed.

Support is not doing anything about both of these cases. Disappointing for sure.
