Title: alt coins. Are they worth it?? and if so which ones
Post by: andrewboy44 on September 19, 2013, 01:24:44 AM
I keep having a vision that there will be another alt coin that will eventually become like bitcoin. The biggest question is which one or ones will it be? For the past month I've just used my miners to either mine alt coins or use some of my btc that I mine each day to purchase alt coins. Obviously not all the coins will make it. My though process is to load up on every coin because if in 10-15 years from now each alt coin is a dollar or more... that is a lot of money. If you have 20,000 terracoin thats 3,472 dollars. If those coins later become worth one dollar each that will be roughly 19,600 dollars. 19,600-3472 is 16,128 dollars... Thats a pretty large profit (but this is all wishful thinking). My question for yall is do you think there will ever be another successful coin such as bitcoin? And if so what coin or coins do you think it will be?

I believe in Diamond (DMD). This coin is built on top of innovative features compared to Bitcoin: ten times faster in transaction, PoW and PoS combination, transaction messages, instant diff correction, random bonus block, ..... The name itself is extremely attractive to woman. I believe that woman drives e-commerce now. They do shopping a lot. They spend lots of time on fashion, jewelry, shoe stores ... DMD is the coin they may need.

If I were you, I will invest into DMD now or buy it at 5 times higher price in 3-4 months. If you want to be safe, invest into LTC. IMO, LTC will not bring you as much profit as DMD

PS: Cryptsy will re-list DMD in 2-3 days. New wallet is under heavy test and will be released soon.
Next big things to do with DMD: have it listed in BTC-e, CoinUp, BTer, BTC38. I believe that marketing team behind DMD has some preparation already

i was interested in Diamond at some point as the tech is good, however wasn't it abandoned by it's dev with no website, no block chain, no block explorer, no community to speak of ? Besides you can't really buy it atm as it's not available at any exchanges. Let me know if that changed

DMD community is back and stronger than ever. DMD has 2 new good developers, 2 new big pools https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=255806.600

Devs have asked Cryptsy for delisting DMD for a few days to fix the blockchain. New website  will be up and running in a few days. Meanwhile, feel free to browse new DMD explorer

http://www.diamondblocks.info/

If you want to mine it, please ensure that you have the fixed wallet client (the most recent one, not the one that was released few months ago)

I believe DMD community will have some marketing plans soon. Most of altcoins have no marketing plans

I noticed Copperlark is up fourfold since Thursday -- it is ever so hard to predict where a coin is going... I think it's a very good idea to load up on more than 1 coin and increase the likelihood that you benefit from any future price increases.

I keep having a vision that there will be another alt coin that will eventually become like bitcoin. The biggest question is which one or ones will it be? Just like sexcoin was designed for adult stuff and bbq for food:)
In the end , people buy those with Bitcoins.

And your post looks like one made by a shill

In the end, people buy those with USD too. Why Bitcoin?

Somebody pay for goods using Visa. Others Mastercard. Should they end up with using American Express? No? Market is diversified. People has a lot of options. Diamond provides merchants with a payment option that makes their business look good. Woman loves it.

The problem is if you focus on niche markets properly, you will have profit

No , mister
You buy hamburgers and diamonds and cars with usd.
You don't buy adult dvds with usd , hamburgers with yen and cars with euros.
Is this too hard for a shill to understand?

Don't call me shill ha ha.  :D I mine WorldCoin, StableCoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin. DMD is one of options but it is good. There is no clear winner yet. Altcoins have a long way to go.

>> You don't buy adult dvds with usd , hamburgers with yen and cars with euros.

Why? I bought adult dvds in Bangkok using Thai Baht, in Paris using Euros and hamburgers using my credit card. They are different payment methods. What's the problem?

Common , don't make me call you names
You don't use a currency specifically for some kind of products!
Now you get it?

Title: Re: alt coins. Are they worth it?? and if so which ones
Post by: digicoin on December 15, 2013, 06:37:19 AM
No you don't get the point.

There is no such currency here. Bitcoin is not a currency (fiat money that is backed by a goverment - remember Economics 101 you learn at school?). Altcoins are the same. However, Bicoin and altcoins can be accepted as medium of exchanges and payment gateways like Visa, Mastercard.

Merchants can accept many medium of exchanges at the same time. They can accept Bitcoin, Diamond, Visa, Mastercard or whatever they can manage to make customer feel comfortable when buying products.

Diamond is not designed to serve a specific product. It is designed to make woman love it. 4.5 billions people
WorldCoin is designed to make people think everyone in the world accept it.

WorldCoin and Diamond are clever name. Very business friendly

Yeah, too bad that both World and Diamond don't sounds that catchy in all languages :).
Do you know how they sound in Chinese? Probably not!
Also 4.5 billion people? Nice number , where you got that from?

Those clones bring nothing , nothing and nothing special , and most of them are premined buggy shady stuff.
Also , since i have another open discussion with you in an another thread and I realized what kind of shill you are , case closed.

You want to translate US dollar to local languages too? Ha ha. Good luck

>> Those clones bring nothing , nothing and nothing special , and most of them are premined buggy shady stuff.
You don't need to be special to do business. Your product does not need to be special to be sold well. That's what I learned from business schools and did business for several years.

Haha c'est la vile

I am open to every altcoins. There is a long way to go. Who knows what happens? Paul Krugman is skeptic about Bitcoin but he admits that "Who knows?".

DevCoin will make it.
Thank you for selling me some cheap DVCs. The correction in the price was nothing to be afraid of - it is just a buying opportunity for long term Deva-holders.
DVC is still on the way to 0,001-0,01 BTC-levels. Now it is a great opportunity to buy some more DVCs as the price is still far behind its long term goal.
Welcome to the space shuttle. This is a nice trip to the moon.  :)

Good to see Diamond (DMD) to receive a lot of love now.

It's got a new development team, which should help it skyrocket.

At the end of the day, it's five times more scarce than BTC (4 million to 21 million coins) and combines PoW/PoS. For me, that's a killer combination and I believe it's got a huge potential.

Go DMD, go!!!  ;D

I see the Deutsche eMark (DEM) P2P network growing in hash power at a healthy pace, and the value of the coins vis-a-vis BTC has also been rising. Additionally, Germany has legitimized Bitcoin by deeming it "private money". I assume that other crypto-currencies have the same status, and that the eMark will have a good uptake for that reason, among others.

Just added to coinmarketcap.com ($132,000 initial value, now to $170,000).

2nd most profitable coin in coinwarz.com.

New dev team, great characteristics.

Yeah I'm starting to catch Diamond fever here. Seems to combine the best characteristics of all the altcoins out there, plus the new development team seems really motivated. Having a marketable brand name doesn't hurt either, so many of these coins' names make me want to facepalm.

We have all been wondering if there will be another coin that will surge in price like bitcoin and litecoin.

A lot of people have used the approach to mine and/or buy every coin because it is hard to be sure which Alt coin will turn out to be the next BIG ONE.

We now know!

It is Quark!

Quark has done something that no other coin has ever done. It increased in value by more than 1000x in less than 2 weeks. From 21 on Tuesday Nov 19 to 30000 on Sat Nov 30.

This huge increase is amazing.

How was it possible?

It is a result of the uniqueness of Quark's distribution.

All coins when first issued are raped and dumped by the botnets, farms etc. In fact no coin can overcome this relentless raping and dumping. All coins nearly die from it. Quark was no exception.

But because of Quark's distribution, nearly all of its coins have been minted, there can be no more raping and dumping. There is no more constant downward pressure on the price. Now the price can increase with time without constraints.

It is this natural price increase that is attractive to hedge fund investors and will result in Quark challenging litecoin's price of 0.025 btc and maybe even challenging bitcoin itself.

We have all wondered what will happen when a coin is fully mined. We now know. It is a price explosion!

I only hope that everybody got in on Quark before Nov 19. If not, it is not too late, there may be another factor of 1000x waiting in the wings. Big money is pouring into Quark!
