Title: Zergpool SCAM (don't mine there! might never get paid!)
Post by: sebushi113 on February 19, 2018, 04:24:06 PM
Did a test run on the pool with a small rig to see if it's legit. (It's not!)

http://zergpool.com/

TL;DR
Especially if you're a small miner, STAY AWAY!!

Mined till minimum payout, never got paid. (Owner raised minimum payout right before it happened on Sunday)
Mined till next minimum, never got paid. (Owner raised it again!)
Mined again till minimum, never got paid! (Raised again!!)

Owner keeps raising the minimum Sunday payout right before it happens, without any prior notice!!

In the end, I mined for a few weeks, and never got paid.

Many people come to complain on the pool's discord channel, but owner just ignores and kicks/bans people who complain.
I personally tried DMing him many times over several weeks, with no reply or help.
When I mentioned it on the main channel, got kicked off the server.

Other Issues:
  • The API is down most of the time, so can't even connect the miner to reach minimum payout.
  • Earned balance goes up extremely slowly (especially the last few days).
  • Earned balance often goes DOWN.. lol (it's magic!!)
  • Nothing improves, even though owner claims he keeps working to fix issues.

Minimum Sunday payout history:
  • 0.0001 BTC ( or 0.0003? he changed it so many times I can't remember lol..)
then
  • 0.0005
  • 0.001
  • 0.005 (current minimum weekly Sunday payout)

Owner claimed he got hacked, and that is why he raised the minimum (but as you can see he changed it many times after.)
He also raised the pool fee from 0% to 0.5% (which is totally fine), but the top of the pool page which most people see, still says:
ZERGPOOL MINING - 0% fee multialgo, multicoin, autoexchange pool

There have also been many complaints about it on bitcointalk.

I'm guessing that you're the dude that came into discord trying to be billy badass threatening to dox people?

I'm going to dispel some of this FUD and keep in mind that I have nothing to do with zerg other than the fact that I mine there.
Originally the pool operator did have a min payout of .0001 BTC which brought in a lot of smaller miners this is good in theory but was a bad idea even for the miners because of how btc tx are calculated.  If you receive a bunch of .0001BTC payments when you go to send later your tx is larger and cost more.  That point moved up to a comparable payout to other pools.

There was a hack at zerg that happened and fees had to be implemented.  All balances were paid off using fees and then the fees went away again.

The API had issues because of constant ddos and scaling problems.  There's still occasional stratum issues due to the new ddos protection but the pool operator is working on it daily sharing information with the miners in discord and taking advice on how to make it better.

Balances are slower to go up here than other pools.  I'll give you that.  You may have noticed that some coins took a long time to go up like Machine when it was disabled on Cryptopia, having a pool operator that that listened to the miners allowed us to be one of the only pools mining MAC at the time and we made a killing even if it took a several days for the coins to be able to be exchanged.

Zerg is a pool for mining shitcoins.  There are tons of shitcoins there with bad exchanges that take forever to get coins in and coins out a lot of times the value of the coin changes drastically between the time it's mined and the time it can actually hit the exchange.  There's also been a couple instances of mining the wrong fork where fork detection didn't catch it because we weren't the only pool on the wrong fork.  Again this is the world of shitcoins with bad wallets and that happens.

I've mined pretty much every larger pool for extended periods of time I'm quite happy with zerg.

Hey HardBlockMiner...

How long you've been mining with Zergpool???
also would like to know if you are using Awesome miner, or some other miners???

asking because i just switch to Zergpool from MPH and would like to know your experience. MPH was giving me fixed number and zergpool is giving me like unreal numbers

Awesome miner got me to zergpool but now I use their software. It's one of the only I've tried that doesn't seem to scam. Mph was the worst.  I also like better hash. Any other pools worth trying?  I'd like to mine icons.  Thanks good luck

Hello HardBlockMiner,

Can you explain why my earned coins on zergpool go down and why it stalls for hours sometimes while still mining?

GRTZ, QK.

GRTZ, QK.

We mine shitcoins.  A lot of the time the value of the coins drop between the time they are mined and when they go to exchange.  That's why the pending goes up or down.  Rarely there will be a fork that doesn't get caught by fork protection too.  This is only when autoconverting.  You can always use the mc= to mine any coin directly on there too.

https://discord.gg/v7JHTbC

You can always drop by the discord if you have any questions as the arise.

you full of it in 30 hours at ahashpool i mined more btc value than a week at zerg its a rip off probably in the 50% range the reason they are implemented in all the big miners is they probably have side deals cut to force people there way. You do notice that on zerg start page it list what miners to top use as algo switchers knocks down a few but all have fees. Its a big scam nothing about crypto is fair or ion the up and up yet people wanna cry about licenses. Zweg and zpool one in the same mine there if you like taking it in the rear no kiss no dinner strt8 f**kin

now min btc threshold is 0.0025 btc at current value 100-200 usd. imagine if someone just ignoring any balances that not meet min threshold and that will become pool owner earning.
1000 come/left  10-100 dollar. means his robbing out moner money is 1000-10000 usd per months.
this kind of pool which ignoring people should be avoid at first place.
beware of people out there. kind like a nature of fcking coward business. you cant do anything with the amount you left at the pool. that pinpin zergpool owner will just ignoring and kicking people who ask their money to be paid. they have people who loyal to this pool keep denying this.

so miner and community, please dont use this pool!!

just got the same experience... both with zergpool and zpool.

I did not mine for a couple months and my coins are gone. It is not a huge ammount by any stretch of the immagination but bothering me nevertheless.

they do say that they purge inactive accounts but I have the same oppinion on this as others have said: firstly 90 days is a short time AND just keeping the coins as your own is outright wrong in my oppinion. If it was a year or something along the lines I would more likely be able to understand the decision.

this is the reason why I think it is not a good place to mine.

zergpool, zpool and ahashpool all keep your coins after 90 days of inactivity.

At least ahashpool says literally that after 90 days you forfeit your coins... and not like zpool and zergpool that it is "purged".

So all in all if someone were to mine for several months and then maybe not mine for three months then all the coins are gone... not ok.

this is why I only use nicehash from now on. Had mined there for a bit and when I returned after 6 months or so, all my coins were still there and just picked up where I left.

Hey Guys! I have never experienced this before. There is something special about zergpool that I'd rather not put my finger on however this glitch in the system

doesn't effect anyone but unexperienced people who are quick to point the finger at others. In other words if you Really like to use Bitcoins than you should (TAKE ADVANTAGE) of

Zergpool!

Imagine there where 5 people. Imagine that out of those 5 people 1 of them sees an apple whilst the other 4 people see a ball. The conversation about the ball should end until all 5 people unanimously agree on something called (FRICTION).

P.S. till then please only add fact to this cord not (FRICTION).
