What are some things you'd like to see in a social network that would make your experience even better?

example ... No ads / No "feed" / better messaging system using better encryption

Social network is a good.With the advancement in technology, communication has grown. It is now easier and cheap to communicate and connect with people across the world. The issue of distance is no longer an excuse for lack of communication. Communication systems have grown from wired devices to wireless devices. The internet has also brought adverse changes in the forms of communications that are available and currently being used. It has led the rise of social networks. Here you can communicate and share your thoughts with many people at the same time. It is easy to share information like pictures, advertisements, videos and text messages. To many people, it is perceived as a form of entertainment. However, being in social sites enhances communication. There are many types of social sites and it is on oneself to choose the one that they are comfortable with.

No ads and specially no fake accounts.

same problem here i quit facebook 3 month ago hahha now i ama happy and relly fredome facebook is spam spam everywehere

Social network is really great to our life just because we can communicate with whole world within short time. i would like to see no 18+ ads and no fake account so that it may better for all off user.

I would like no ads, but somehow they gotta pay for the service. The one thing I want is privacy. My informations should be only my thing. My messes should not be accessible to the company. I know they are using my information for advertising purposes and I dislike that. The other thing is maximal security no vournabilities should be there for hackers to overcome. I am asking for much, but that would be my ideal social network. Clean design would too be nice.

Some dont mind adds some can afford to have them switched off so the method of rewarding the platforms host should be up to the user

I wish social networks would be more interface friendly to their users and don't push users for doing what SOCIAL networks wants. The most excellent example is facebook: why on earth I should use they mobile version, and why don't the combine messenger with them. Why they are choosing instead of me what is news more relevant for me. Users should have choice with one click disable this, and switch function for themself. F.E. watch hole news in date order. That's so simple.

Well, be more better without ads and spam.. Especially adult (18+) ads.. So, annoying when our child using gadget and we forget to stakeout their doing.. And ads application too so annoying.. My niece always click "ok" if there is ads when she play game or use IG.. And of course that app automatically instaled.. And my phone instantly full of game or app.. 😂😂😂😂

A little bit more privacy, everything is shared and linked and tagged nowadays I find that quite annoying.

There is just one thing, among all, I would change in the social network: a kind of "hate filter". For this is amazing how under the excuse of being "anonymous" people expressed themselves too much often in hate terms. It is easy to find people just telling somebody whatever strong words you can imagine, or even making death menaces. Of course, nothing like that can happen in real life, but why there is always the hate presence in social networks? Because there are no consequences at all. To me, that's somehow scary, for it shows how people can be mean with no control at all.
Let me give you an example. A restaurant last week was accused to be homophobic. That was a whole lie, made by a group of drunk teenagers, who selected parts of a video and conveniently upload it to the internet with a made text telling an incredible lie.
Even when that was based on a lie, "serious" newspaper use the teenager's publication and even publish the fake information. The restaurant has to close up, due to the death menaces, bad commentaries, and all kind of hate they received. They almost lost their business, after 4 years of hard work. Now, the truth came out thanks to the security cameras, but they are still scared. Try to imagine: anybody can get your phone and make you a call crying they are going to kill your family. In Facebook, anybody can send you a hate commentary,  a public one, just saying the same stuff.
Well, to me this is unacceptable. Facebook and others social media should have a filter or something. Death menaces must have consequences.
Even police tell the restaurant they cannot make a demand, they will have no justice. This is sad.
Anybody can say whatever they want whenever they want, with no consequences, even if their words ruined a life.
Another example: cyberbulling. Last year there was a new about a teenager girl who suffer too much cyberbulling, by her schoolmates. She suicided. The parents couldnt do anything to get justice, and the case was shut down. How it is possible???
We need social media to have consecuences. We need it now.

fake accounts are a real problem of social networks.....maybe a social identity verification process for each member of a specific social network could solve the problem and avoid the creation of fake accounts...

Today's social networking has dominated the lives of Internet users. Services that are presented by each social networking sites vary. But generally existing services on social networking is chatting, email, sharing messages, sharing videos or photos, discussion forums, blogs, and others. I would be nice if people will just post the nescessary update on their life, not a thing that is just usual. no Fake accounts, I dont like also the ads though im not a social network addict so whatever Just less drama.

Less is more, especially with Facebook. Wish "friends" will stop sharing rubbish. Just be more considerate and only share the really good stuff.

social networking sites are now used as media portal and need portal. Sometimes, there ate some users who tends to abuse this feature. In my opinion, what would make my experience better is that if purple would stop sharing black propaganda and fake news cause it's really not helpful at all. This will just cause panic and hysteria to others. I hope people will just share what is true.
On the lighter note,i guess less ads will also contribute too a more conducive social networking environment.

I'd make it so they kick you off after an hour of use and don't let you back in for 24 hours :D

Aside from no ads, i would like to see posts that really have meaning into it. I would like to see worth while information  my feed and not just half naked women, idiotical pranks, memes and brain dead trends like eating tide pods. These kinds of fads doesn't help young minds at all in their development. I see more children that think about how would they be a "viral" sensation more than cultivating their own careers and being a responsible adult.

For me, its greater to no Adds, fast networks so that we can surf what ever we want  :) 

one of them by looking at some positive ads there, a word of wisdom and some groups that can be made into a means of discussion of various problems in life, career and family, joining with several group organizations that can contribute opinions that can be made into input and correction

Well, social media is now very much popular. Social media turns into a great business field. Many company and organizations are using social media for connecting with people and spreading their business. But now social media is full of fake people and annoying ads. Is there is any solution to fake id and adds that will be really a great thing.

If mostly says No Ads, how the company can survive if without Ads, How the company can make money without Ads, for me Social Media will be better if they can banned the spammer account, because lately I saw many account spamming in social media, first they mostly talk about disparaging other religions, mocking other tribes, making hoaxes. Things like that are categorized spammers, should be quickly removed not to spread and create another account unrest.

No marketing and commercial. It seems people use social networks nowadays mainly for marketing and businesses purposes to promote their products/services and gain more customers. That's the main driving force of those networks today, which sometimes makes our efforts harder in terms of finding valuable and useful information there!   :-\

Social network and media has played quite a role in almost everything to date. News, rumors, products, business,
celebrities, establishments, advertisements, communication, innovations and investments. At it's infancy years it
really made so much that you can actually see and feel the aftereffects of being connected. But years later, I find
it so much as a nuisance at some point with all the fake news, scares and other senseless stuff that make your life
sad, questionable and depressing. Privacy seems to be one of those things that are at stake these days. Social
media has become an addiction, an unhealthy psychological dilemma and even an emotional turmoil to some people.
People are aware of such issues and the negative consequences if such a platform is exploited and recklessly abused.

To be fairly honest ads doesn't bother me at all, neither the feed.
So far I like what facebook & twitter offer. If tehre is something better I am afraid I can't think of it. Social networks did the most important taks, it united us.

Social Network is so good and quite interesting but the people who are using it make it seems irritating and allowed it to contributed to the Scam and other abominable of so ever.

When we are hanging around on social media, we see many unnecessary things. People are on competition of showing their lifes to the others on social media. But it is not beneficial. Social media can be more informative.

Yes that is true, maybe facebook must limit people to share their private life and also unnecessary stuffs they posting. We need to be productive in sharing our thought in facebook or twitter and think that it can help others in purpose.

Social network is nice because we can keep in touch with our friends and family. We can also make new friends. But there are people who post fake accounts or bad things on social media. What I dont like to see on social media are posts that are nonsense or too much posts about their activities, or personal lives and fight among other people.

I only want in social networks.no fake people/accounts.and no sharing also of private life.or not allowed to post nonsense.or what they do everyday.limit post.no fake news too.

Well, I would make me feel better if there's no posting of personal grudges and cursing on their social media account whenever they have quarrel with someone else, and sometimes inappropriate ads which is not good.

Facebook recently added a feature to send money over it's messenger and I think it will benefit a lot of people mostly with family providers working miles away from home.

The biggest problem with social media platforms is that they are expensive to run and the most convenient way to cover costs is by targeted advertising, which requires harvesting users' personal information. My hope is that by incorporating cryptocurrency it will be possible for platforms to cover costs in other ways, for example built-in microtransactions that can serve as the basis of a revenue source that doesn't involve violating people's privacy.

There are many things that I would like social networks to have and not to have. I would like it to have authentications so that it will be possible to lessen people who are creating useless accounts and to lessen people who create account using other people's name and data. It would also better to have no advertisements, no spams and no more useless updates.

social media is like the first not much advert and no news of mutual understanding and dissemination of blasphemy are not certifiable. social media a nice is the right social media functioned as pure as is without any interruption whatsoever.

A feeling of security surrounding my data, ownership of data, privacy, and the likes. This is my biggest concern and makes me want to get rid of all social media full stop. But that is difficult to do, and I wish we could change this status quo where Companies have monopolies on our social data.

To save personal data is practically impossible now, I think. But it shouldn't be stolen anyway. First, users must be warne, and the second - they must be rewarded for sharing.

I would like less advertising and more useful information - that is, articles, advice, etc.

Social network is a technology parlance with the website or other application where people often of similar interest ,come together  to communicate with each other and share information. Social network is an online platform that people use to build social relations with other people who share similar personal or career interest ,activities, background or real life connection.

I except social networks not to sale our information. But unfortunately that is the purpose of social networks. So, it's never gonna happen. At least they should give us a choice where we can choose which information we want to giveaway and which my meant not to see the servers.

No popping advertisements,no spam so that you can go directly to what you are doing and safe information.

If there was some way to make it so people were more prone to engage, hate situations where most people have 500, 1k and 2k friends and you see maybe 3 likes, that tells me something is amiss. I personally feel social networks suppress most post.

For me, the social media nowadays have receive its peak in usage and its cause some crashes on their application especially on mobile. I hate it when a newsfeed was lost because the player has crashed or there are errors on it. I know there are working on it because of the reported cases. I also hate the fake profiles created. I am not famous but someone was using my name and created a fake account just to bully other people. I have reported it already and nothing has happened as of now.

I would like to see in social network that would make my experience even better such as-
1)Use social media to turn a neutral or negative experience into a positive one.
2)Use social network to keep customers informed/alert them to problems or promotions.
3)Social network need users information keep safe and secure.
4)Unnecessary ads are annoying to many users.So I think it should be turn off from social networks.
