Title: Porsche introduces blockchain to cars
Post by: zanetti_ro on February 26, 2018, 12:07:22 PM
Here's the official press release: https://presse.porsche.de/prod/presse_pag/PressResources.nsf/Content?ReadForm&languageversionid=833328 (https://presse.porsche.de/prod/presse_pag/PressResources.nsf/Content?ReadForm&languageversionid=833328)

I think this is the type of news that tends to shut up crypto deniers. If the auto industry starts using blockchain tech, it's going to be huge. What do you guys think?

Kodak East's stock price jumped 240% after it announced an ICO which would pay photographers via blockchain. Atari's stock jumped 40% after it announced a blockchain based gaming console and its own crypto currency which it would later issue. Others gained massive stock percentage points simply by rebranding their corporate name to include the word "blockchain".

Now, it looks like porsche is hopping on the bandwagon in the hope of artificially inflating its stock price via association with blockchain/bitcoin.

This tendency for large corporations to gain massive percentage off of blockchain/bitcoin related announcements could comprise a dangerous bubble as assets become overvalued off of nothing but vaporware announcements which probably won't produce much value or revenue within the long term.

I still believe that Blockchain technology will be the trend of the future, as the 4.0 technology revolution is expected to create a technological revolution at the present time. Porche has realized the potential of this technology and will probably apply the blockchain technology to the car, which would be very interesting.

In the future porsche will use the block chain technology to improve autonomous driving.

More and more well-known companies introduce block chain technology, block chain technology can be applied to all the digital domain, such as digital currency, payment and settlement, digital instrument, interest, credit, government services, medical records, etc.

Never liked Porche. Now I like it a little more.   I also heard Tesla accepted bitcoins, not sure if they still do.

Either way it's great news for bitcoin :D

It's not a big news at all like every other company taking help of crypto to increase share price this is jus another move , see how kodak announced their ico and share price rose same way companies saying that they will adopt is to be a part of the blockchain hype and nothing else
Yes if they actually adopt it that's going to be huge

That sounds amazon, in-built applications for the cars which will work on the blockchain technology. So yeah this is how everyone will start accepting the bitcoin and blockchain per say. This how crypto will grow slowly but steadily over the decades to come. There might be many big figures saying that bitcoin is bubble but here is how it will break that bubble. By applying the real world applications of it! They might shut their mouths now as the big brands like Porsche and all take the giant leaps in the said field.

Kodak East's stock price jumped 240% after it announced an ICO which would pay photographers via blockchain. Atari's stock jumped 40% after it announced a blockchain based gaming console and its own crypto currency which it would later issue. Bravo! Keep hating hitting like this and we will have blockchain fully accepted by the end of this decade only.  :D

I just want to say that it's been proven that many companies believe in blockhaind technology systems that have pretty good potential. and I think in the future there will be many more companies that use the blockhaind technology system because the profit value of profits will be much higher and this will be very profitable for companies that use blockhaind technology.

For me it's great for today's technological developments, and Blockchain is the technology of the future that's so much researching the Blockchain system, there are so many advantages over other systems, it's a tremendous breakthrough that I admit, it could be a driver of Blockchain and bitcoin where both appear together.
Blockchain technology is a technology that underlies the running of Bitcoin without relying on centralized servers, for me this system will be great in the future.

Kodak was nearly dead for years so it may be concidered for them as an attempt to get back to the market while Porche feels pretty fine (not totaly fine but the situation with Kodak  was much worse). And they also are a bit late with trying to hype on "blockchain", now they gona have to do something to get some real value.
Imho such news are not that interesting. First because cars are working fine without blockchain, it is not that important for that stuff. Second is that those things can pump the stock price but it will never affect the price of cryptocurrencies and even if they will succeed with blockchain everything will be unnoticed by the crypto cummunity.

Blockchain technology has many applications for industry and automobile is one of them. Porsche is trying to adapt this blockchain technology for better customer service like tamper-proof data transparency and for supply chain and logistics for manufacturing. There is no doubt that blockchain technology would be future of networking technology with less hardware interventions from traditional centralised computer networks.

True, even in the food industry, bitcoin has started to become accepted, by KFC Canada especially. This new development of Porsche, a well know automobile giant spreading blockchain technology further into the industry is really interesting. This just shows how much important the technology is and how much importance and priority should be given to further spread the roots of this technology to other industries like currency, and this will fuel the rise of bitcoin.

blockhcain technology is very good for the industrial and business world. Porsche adds blockchain technology in his car ranging from locking and opening the car door through an application. Singapore also uses blockchain for business activities in port. So now the blockchain is not just about bitcoin.

Awesome! It only proves the acceptance of blockchain technology is evolving and soon many industrial companies would follow as they realized how good the technology for their business. The many applications of blockchsin technology would cater to a lot of industries.

Amazing! We all must rejoice for maybe the time is near when blockchain will be accepted and used all over the world. This is an evidence that this technology is very useful nowadays. Once this will be worldwide, the community will grow larger and there will be more opportunities offered by this system.

Hi,

That is interesting indeed... But it has nothing to do with bitcoin or crypto.

Blockchain has been developed for crypto needs but it is something in itself.

It is a tool aimed at "controlling itself". Here, in your article, the car manufacturer only says that it finds blockchain interesting and that it could be used for autonomous driving or locking the car from a smartphone. We are rather far from crypto... ;)

It would be a great news if Porsche start to accept BTC,which of course we can expect in the future. But it is good they discovered all the possibilities blockchain provide for them, maybe it's the first step to further understanding of BTC.

We can see that many people often misinterpreted blockchain and BTC as one and the same thing, which is of course wrong.Blockchain is an amazing technology which today changes the world, and BTC is using that technology from 2009 and actually shows all its advantages and disadvantages.

There is no doubt that blockchain is very hot stuff these days-auto industry, financial sector, healthcare and many others are interested in its application. Can the currency based on blockchain succeed and be successful?I think the answer is positive,it will only take a little longer time than we expect today.

Blockchain technology is becoming extremely glaring with the way things are going. Companies are beginning to see the value that blockchain technology brings for their own development in particular and who does not want that really ?

It is great that a whole lot of development is really going on and that is good for the general ecosystem in particular as we keep seeing big players utilizing the technology.

It is interesting to know that a lot of merchants are beginning to get interested in the blockchain technology and that is good. Not just the auto industry, if most industries start seeing the need to make use of blockchain technology, it would be a good thing generally. I can see lately that the news are generally changing to the positive gradually, so I guess we have to keep our fingers crossed on how that impacts the technology positively.

Agree, its another good thing to hype bitcoin/blockchain technology specially in the motoring industry as we all know that a lot of rich people are into "toys for the big boys".

In an international conference discussing the tremendous growth of "blockchain" over cryptocurrency and peer to peer networks and trustless transactions, it is a sign that so many researchers are good at implementing blockchain in every technology today, it's potentially big in some time. come.

Actually, every blockchain conference really brings positive news to the community. Its just sad though that central banks globally are still attacking bitcoin but taking advantage of the technology behind it. And banks are the first recipient of the technology. But now a lot of industries are looking and applying blockchain and I'm sure that we will see it grows to tremendous levels in the next 5 years.

If Porsche has decided to support blockchain technology, then one day it will also understand bitcoin and accept it as a payment. Bitcoin is the best crypto currency and a most famous invention that implements blockchain technology. This is the face of future money.

Sooner or later, everyone will accept it. Bitcoin has already shown how much potential it has and if we talk about success, then indeed it is successful so far.

It seems blockchain is really driving some of these companies on a global scale as they get their stock value increase before you even know it. With the way things are going already, I foresee more companies and merchants taking blockchain technology to a whole new level for their own benefit and that is really good but considering your perspective as well, I guess there is nothing good that does not come with its own disadvantage, and we hope it does not really get to that.

Really interesting. If we can keep getting news like this to change the fundamental of things in the market, I am sure it should help a lot in getting us fine and kicking. Blockchain technology is becoming something that is growing wide than we can all imagine even far than some of us would have imagined it to be few years ago and having something like this in a short while, I can imagine what the future holds for this technology.

In my view people first accept or come to know the advantages of blockchain technology and then will think about adopting bitcoins. Hence, adoptions like this will make blockchain technology to be heard lots of people which may work for adopting bitcoins later on.

These news are coming like crazy these days but somehow it aint helping the coins to hike in anyway. Now here is the thing why this is not goo does for the bitcoin itself! When these industries make such announcement that they will be introducing features based on the blockchain then they really means that they are going to invest money on the blockchain itself and not any coin thus they do not interfere any market value as such. The money is really going into their own project which is just based on the blockchain platform. The same way bitcoin relies on it. Thus, it is the good news but it is for the purpose of blockchain and the Porsche users itself.  :D

The automobile industry applies block chain technology to let the people who drive the car enjoy the fun of technology! Future driverless cars could be standard for cars!

There are many industries which have started to use blockchain technology. Even some governments. And some other is searching for this brilliant technology. In the near future, we are going to see many new areas of usage.
I think one of the biggest areas of usage could be education.

What are you even saying ? You sounded more like someone who is lost or totally delusional and I can bet you did not even read the press release. Not surprised though! Introducing blockchain technology or making use of it does not have anything to do with campaign. Looking at your post history, I urge you to at least once in a while; stop embarrassing yourself in a public forum. That is by the way! This is a brilliant one for this auto industry and if so many other bigger companies can keep taking steps like this, it would mean a lot for the future of blockchain technology.

Not just cars. It would really be very nice to see bitcoin being used generally in real life for payment purposes. Right now, the only thing we have in our hands is just a mere speculative asset and that is really not good, which is the main reason why we get to see the value of bitcoin fluctuating pretty huge and fast easily. As long as we can start having some real life usage as currency, I believe things would get better. This is obviously a good step and we would like to be seeing more from all phase of businesses across the world.

Yeah, the use of blockchain is increasing pretty fast in most of the big companies in most especially the developed world. Normally, it is obviously by now that blockchain technology is the future and it is about time before we started seeing a lot of these big companies popping up actually to make use of this for a lot of greater benefit for the future. The earlier they started being part of the future, the better and that is one thing with innovation.

Corporations are not interested in digital currency (cryptos or whatever) and don't care about it. A lot are "betting" on the blockchain technology with as a major reason: reducing the costs, which mean more profits, better ROI. One of the other reason is the security.

As for Porsche, I didn't remember what they did but I know they are not the only one, Not sure which one (Toyota?) jumping on the blockchain train as well

Imagine if we can buy a famous car like a porsche, this will facilitate our payment, a fast payment process and this will save time for consumers in buying a car.

This is quite an achievement for the crypto community because if it will be implemented then this is going to much more near to realistic that crypto will be much more useful to our society. Also, the company definitely understand the blockhain technology and maybe they will make more research about it.

There is nothing new with this, from time to time, we'll hear companies will be using block chain technology in order to help their businesses and also to appeal to the crypto community, however that doesn't mean that it is going to be accepted that easily, there will still be discussions for the improvement of their block chain, butnif they tend to do an ICO it is also be a different thing, the question then, when will be their airdrop, is it going to be a POS or a masternode, since we could easily get cars from them even without costing us that much, further studies should be done, and I doubt, if it will silence those who don't like crypto currency at all, since they will also have a valid argument.

FUDders and nasayers will always find a way to bash something. In this case, they would probably single out the fact that BLOCKCHAIN is something like a separate from cryptocurrencies. They would say this is good news only for blockchain but not for crypto.

Luckily, this is not so bad for us because we know the true value that crypto can bring to this world and we will probably be just ignoring their comments as we gain more from our early investments in this life-changing technology.
