These coins feature an encrypted private key that requires a passphrase known only to the buyer to be decrypted. Nobody can redeem the value of your coin without having the coin in their possession and knowing your passphrase. When ordering you will need to send me an intermediate code for each coin you order, to generate intermediate codes you can go to the page below or use Bitcoin Address Utility made by Casascius. The encrypted private key is contained in a qr code protected by a tamper evident hologram on the back of the coin. I send a small amount of btc to each coin to create the firstbits and include them on the coin. Yeah, I send you a confirmation code and the bitcoin address after I generate the private key, as long as you save the confirmation code and give it to them they could verify the password the same way you do.. Setup a page based on the bit2factor code that has a little more info and just the related two-factor tools to make it easier for those who don't want to or can't download the address utility.. And these provide a secure way of storing those digital bitcoins, more of a wallet than a collector's item to me.. Cold storage along with a physical bitcoin at an inexpensive price..
