Title: 14 merit bonus for quality users [Jr to Sr. Member]
Post by: actmyname on March 01, 2018, 06:53:18 PM
If you believe that you have quality posts for all 20 of your most recent posts then I will review them and if I agree I will give you 14 merit.
Sr. Members and below only.

However. if I heavily disagree I will add a neutral feedback to your account indicating that you are a spammer.
Game on. This is for those that complain about not being rewarded for quality content.

Disclaimer: I will only review the twenty posts that occur before your message.

*arbitrary amount is because of the sMerit I have left.

Please, don't send me merit. If you have merit to spare then give it to those that need it. Or save it, and in the likely case that there are more people here that deserve merit than I have available, you can send them the merit instead.

You can review my last 20 post.
They are quality or not that I always leave for other to decide.
I still have lot of question and by any mean I am not in any kind of development of bitcoin. (so somebody thinking some technical on my postlike segwit,LN,double spend, mem pools merkle tree than he will be disappointed only)

I hate scam and cautions people to avoid them.

Currently more interested in creating some trading strategy. (Work in progress ,till I get successful one).

Thank you for your step for awarding merits.

I guess you can look at my last 20 posts.  I see no reason to post long drawn out essays when sometimes all you need is a simple reply.  I'm straight forward in my posts and get to the point.  My main objective is to stop people from investing in scams and losing money.

i'm not complaining about receiving no merits, so that rules me out of the running
I'm a basic chicken, so I rule me out of the running.
and I'm not too sure what you would make of this post, so, I rule me out again: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3009430.msg31300563#msg31300563
I have one post that consists of the letter 'r' (for reserved on a post I started).

That said, for no merits, and no neutral trust, can you comment ?

If not, thanks anyway

I'm quite liking the double edge sword of this post, entering the game without paying the fee? On the face of it it is sounds like not wanting to participate for fear of neutral/bad feedback, but if OP reads and enjoys then the merits may flow. I had a read of a few posts and one tickled my fancy and gave me a chuckle (so i guess you got at least 1m out of it).

Kudos.

I am pretty strict
Few times will merit exit
Brings out betterment

You can review my last 20 post.
I am not satisfied with the quality of all the posts. However, in the same way, I am not dissatisfied with the quality of all the posts either.

-snip-
You know I can just go into your "Latest posts", right? Given that some of the posts are in Arabic (which I do not understand) and are goods/service thread-related I decided to venture a little bit further. Merited.

I'm the dev of kobocoin. My legendary account was hacked. You can view my last posts which are all about the progress being made with the kobocoin platform. I'm not sure I'll ever scale the heights of being a legendary member again.
While I do think that your account should either be retrieved or that you should be granted your status back, I do not believe that ICO management is meritorious enough.

I'll take you up on this, my good sir.  I'm pretty sure my last 20 posts at least weren't total excrement.  You be the judge.
I'm on the fence here. You haven't been a recently active poster for the past three months. I'll give it some more thought before making a decision. Also, not that this had/has/will have anything to do with post quality judgment, but I really cannot stand the manual newlines that you add. You are trying to format it but it only looks like a Jenga tower.
Will get to the rest later. Tired for the day.

Hi act, not to complain but i'd like to have my posts reviewed.

I plan to use the smerit i earn (potentially) and redistribute it among people in my local country section. Just realized that some people over there are also contributing good discussions that are very relevant to our local crypto setting.

But if another idea pop up in your head.

P.S I conclude it will be nice to award someone if their post is meritorious therefore I need to earn merit first ;)

I hope you can spend some time looking at them.

Well. the OP actually said:
*arbitrary amount is because of the sMerit I have left.
The OP will not only give 14 merits to one people but some of the people that he will be agreeing on based on their posts.

If the post are in Russian, I can participate? Me need to just 5 merit, always try to put ask questions on topic and respond.
I don't think so. It should be written in English (good format, appropriate vocabulary usage, good grammar). I don't think actmyname know Russian to verify your threads in Russian local boards; if he doesn't know Russian language, you can not ask him to use Google translator to verify your threads' quality.

Another reason is local boards are the most spamming place in the forum as well as altcoins (announcement) local boards.

One more thing, but maybe utmost important one is constructive, high-quality posts which written in English will be more contributive to the forum users. I don't deny the fact that you can still contribute in your local boards. However, English-boards, global boards will have greater impacts on forum users.

^ This user is a copy paster. Please don't waste any merit with him.

Even if that's *kinda* not a blatantly copy-paste post (since you translated it to english), I still believe that you should link the original source/give the proper credits to the writer of the article.

Edit: looks like you did copy-paste the entire article and posted it in the Russian board with just a few changes (which is against the rules). Your post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3050945.0) [archived (http://archive.is/4V8o0)];

What did you do, bro? Did you read the OP which states that you have to write good posts and actmyname will check your latest threads to verify its quality. That means you have to post at least 20 threads, not only two.
I have not checked your contains to see whether it is original ideas or copy&paste/plagiarism; but if you did, you should aware that those ones violate forum rules.

I am not sure about all of my most recent 20 posts, at least a few in there are probably rather short posts as the context wasn't appropriate for a needlessly long and detailed post.  But I don't think I would be considered a spammer, I do try to share what I know or my thoughts on a given topic.  I try to contribute where I can, I think the merit system is a good approach to improving post quality. Of course, I recognize that any adjustment is something that takes time and often generates controversy.

Best regards,
Ben

No problem if not, actmyname.  But formatting aside, plesse take my writing ability into account, as I'm pretty sure it towers over a lot of the rest of the members who are vying for your merits.  It is true that I've not been as active lately, but being consistently active wasn't one of your criteria.

Not going to kiss your ass, but I'm glad you got onto the DT list and are fighting merit abusers.  The forum needs more such soldiers.

You certainly are. However, a lot of the posts do involve common-sense knowledge. It's good that you're trying to prevent scams and educating users though I would personally add a little bit more information to some of the posts i.e. "I don't see this doing much, there are already a lot of other credit lending alreaddy." — other credit lending, such as...?
I like it, it's like russian roulette but with our own accounts on the line. I'll take you up on the offer, although I'm also fairly happy with the merit I have received thus far  :D

What are you talking about, my friend. You could not even compose such a good written-English thread. How do you feel if your poor-quality thread can receive merits? I don't believe it will get them at any odds.
Hence, my recommendation for you is:
1. Improve and sharpen your English skills (writing - of course - to help you publish good written-English threads; and reading to help you are able to understand what others wrote).
2. Don't beg for merits; just read and write to help if you can (when you read a thread, which you understand topic/thread's creators and know how to solve their problems; please write to help them). Sometimes you can get merits from thread/topic's creators or from someone else in the forum.

It's been 2 weeks since I received my last merit, here's the link to my last 20 shitposts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1237156;sa=showPosts).
Actually, there are more "meritable" posts I made in the Project Development and Technical Discussion boards than in the Altcoin Mining section.

I've been having fun participating in QuestionAuthority's thread where they ask difficult questions and review your post history. This seems like a good idea as well, very strange amount of merit, but I can appreciate the division.   :P

I don't know that all of my posts are high-quality, in fact I have not even looked at my most recent 20 posts before posting here. I am mostly interested in having my posting habits reviewed, because if you think there is something I can improve upon then I'd love to do so. I just try not to be redundant or useless and help out where I can. This will be pretty candid, since I haven't analyzed them myself and it'll just span my last week or so of hanging around.

This is for those that complain about not being rewarded for quality content.

I don't fall into this category, because I've been earning merit at a reasonable pace in my opinion. Nothing to complain about, it is an interesting addition to the forum. Not sure if this would disqualify me. Either way, appreciate what you're doing here and hope you let me participate. Neutral merit isn't the end of the world one way or another, challenge accepted, or Game on as you said.

You've come a long way since asking me for a loan a few years ago.   ;D

Perhaps I give this a shot. I'm not confident, though :D

You cant since.

However. if I heavily disagree I will add a neutral feedback to your account indicating that you are a spammer.

Its clear that you are agreeing with OP`s terms and conditions in regard of your post being reviewed. By that being said, no matter what the out come is, you just have to deal with it.

As well as having accepted the T&C in the offer it is also a selective quote. A few lines above the quote it falls under this heading.

On feedback pages, you can leave trade feedback. There are no rules for this, but here are some guidelines:

It's only a guideline.

Honestly, I don't it will work or not, but I have no merit. I was try to post something good before.
Sure... I will try, sir. Thanks for your suggestion. I found some posts with bad grammar, but he've get some merit. So, I still confuse, which one called a good post, content or grammar?

I will try to answer you this from my perspective. In my opinion content is the most important factor. I give merits based primarily on this (not that I have many of them to give). Sometimes it is for really good post I think enhances the overall forum quality or sometimes it could be a short to the point post that answered something I personally wanted to know.

Grammar is also important, but it is not a deal breaker for me if poster has some small grammatical mistakes. Post has to be easily readable and the one I quoted from you is not. The advice you received above is solid one and if you intend to post on English speaking part of the forum plus earn some merit you will have to improve your English skills a bit. I hope that I haven't offended you or come out as smart ass. That was not my intention. English is not my primary language as well. If you have a local sub-forum, maybe you can earn some merit points there.

Please check my profile. I write quality content and quality messages. Bitcoin and crypto are doing research on money, I inform people. I joined the forum recently, I am constantly reading and sharing actively. I write content in Turkish and English.

For example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2980836.msg30638104#msg30638104

In this topic I give information about the safety of the members. I deserve praise.

I think, You need to be encouraged to produce better quality content. Old members of the Forum should encourage newcomers to produce quality content.

Unfortunately, this is the best way to earn merit right now - participate in someone's "I give away merit" thread. This really is not what merit giveaways are supposed to be about. Many quality content posts just get ignored, because nobody who can give away merit can review them. So thank you for giving us at least this opportunity to get some merit and hope that one day some of the jr members can reach full member status.

I don't think this is a good idea, but I'am eagerly to get merits because almost 5months here in the forum and my rank still Jr. I guess  I will grab this opportunity. I hope this not a bad idea I came in. Thanks in advance.

My bad, I'm used to seeing those for twitter. Either way, bounty posts aren't constructive, and I would say none of your others ones stand out. actmyname might have a different stance, but I highly doubt it.

I like it, it's like russian roulette but with our own accounts on the line. I'll take you up on the offer, although I'm also fairly happy with the merit I have received thus far  :D
It's good. But holy shit, the paragraph structure makes it sound so run-on in this post:

Does this mean I failed? I'll admit my sentences can get a little wordy at times when I can't quite find the right words. That's something I'm working on, not only in terms of posting on the forum but also in day to day life.

Hi, I want to try my luck here as well.
Sadly, "luck" is the word that best describes most merit give away threads  :D
One should write at least 10 bitcoin-like whitepapers as posts in order to receive merit to become a member.
Seriously, it's not really fair to those who are newcomers, I read some threads where people have noticed that members with old accounts just create new ones and send them merit to promote to member. I really wish 1 merit was enough to become a member for those of us who do not have old alt accounts.

Its not about "luck" its about how well you write your response to a certain question/post. All post that have substance in it and is not repetitive get merits to the eyes of the ones reading it.

Nope, just be straight to the point (response should not be like an essay).

If you notice some, then try to investigate it. If your investigation came to a conclusion that the accounts are connected then you can get merits. To more about the details go here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2971165.msg30704605#msg30704605).

Hi all,

I try to, as much as possible, avoid the dumb, repetitive posts that really contribute nothing to the discourse here.  In so doing, I run across posts that I feel deserve merit but I don't have any to give, so I've begun to bookmark them to revisit and merit when I can.

One potential idea that might be considered by those that decide (theymos) on such things, a little down the road after the merit system has matured some, is to consider giving some amount of "bonus" sMerits to accounts at the time that they level up (excluding the levels with 0 merit requirements).  For example, if achieving Full Member level gives a person, idk say 10 sMerits, it could help to improve sMerit distribution.  This "bonus" should not accrue to an accounts Merits, only their sMerit count.

Best regards,
Ben

This is nice to be one of the supporters of giving such a merit of the others and giving them a task, exciting? Yes I am also motivated of posting quality but I don't think it will satified all the readers, as you can see many people or users here are different taste to see such a post that completely be merited. Someday maybe next year I will be one of this supporters of merit platform or campaign giving free merit with decent and equal.

Risking the neutral feedback, I'd appreciate if you can take time to review my posts and get some pointers from someone older in this forum. Although some of it are in our local forums which may turn you off. I'm a newbie on cryptocurrency and newer here in Bitcointalk. Please don't read my first posts as those are due to my newbieness.  :'(

Nice initiative :) Seems that some of my recent posts are rather short answers to beginner FAQs, but I’ll take the chance anyway.
Hi act, not to complain but i'd like to have my posts reviewed.
Check my previous posts and if it looks good just merit them
I am not proud of those 20 posts but I think I can test them here if that is worthy of merit or not. hope you can spend some time looking at them.
Most are good. Some are not.
Please spend a couple of minutes and take a forensic look at my account. I hope I can passed through your strict rules, if not I will try more and come back later.
Thanks for your time, Sir.
Surprisingly good quality.
Hello? Thanks for doing this. Kindly look at my profile and I hope I win these merit prize.
No. I do not condone any of those "good project" posts.
I request you to review my posts. Please excuse the fact that few of them are "report" posts as they were mandated by some of the bounty programs. Other than that you should be able to find some decent posts. Cheers!
That's a lot of report posts. About half of the posts are okay, and half are not.
That's page 1.

We have good contributions, and we have good ideas, but language is a barrier, especially when we don't have a local forum in the BCT forum, so "Merit" is a Something very far away @@
You have a lot of bounty posts there so I'm only considering the ~5 posts that are actual responses. They aren't good.

Context matters. I don't see the point of adding to a discussion that already has 50+ replies because 99% of the time the content in your reply will have been made already and you will be effectively adding nothing to a meaningless discussion. Is that understandable?

The reviews are at my discretion. And just because I don't say something doesn't mean it isn't factored in during the reviews.

Hi,

I have 42 activity points and soon i will need 10 merit points to move to Member rank.
I participate in bounties and dont consider myself to be a spammer (and certainly not a scammer Grin)
I participate in translation bounties which of course take time to do properly but I cant really have any influence on whether people will give me merit points or not.

If you think I deserve some merit for them well thats just great

If you dont think I should get any merit I will accept that as well. In that case maybe I can try and find some information that you didnt know.
Let me know what you think.

Title: Double-down merit wager! Those hitting this faucet should risk RED DISTRUST.
Post by: nullius on March 13, 2018, 09:45:47 AM
This is actually not the first time I’ve heard the idea of testing people’s self-confidence with a merit/trust gambling thread.  But the version I heard before had a losing proposition of negative trust feedback.  Not a neutral tag.

actmyname, I will take your wager—but only on double-down terms:  Twice whatever you give others, if you think my last 20 posts are overall meritorious—or a red tag from you, if you don’t.

Why?

I am against the whole concept of merit faucets.  Straight from the early days of the merit system (while my merit score was still in double-digits), I argued that merit should only be earned organically.  The system will work optimally if merit is awarded only in the ordinary course of writing and reading—the production, consumption, and trade of thoughts.

A faucet offering +1 might be relatively benign; but if somebody stands to gain a whopping +14, that person should take a serious risk on his self-confidence.  A formally neutral tag is not a sufficient risk of loss, regardless of its comment.  Think you’re good?  Prepare to be richly rewarded, if you’re right—or shot at dawn, if you’re wrong.

Now, here is what I wrote as to this suggestion before:

Elitist that I am, I approve of the idea....  But be forewarned... [such a wager] would wind up red-tagging a large crowd of quite sincere people who are neither spammers nor beggars.

As a basic fact of human nature, the vast majority of people innately lack the capacity for accurate self-judgment.  The few exceptions are perforce exceptional in other ways, and thus would never need [a merit gamble].

Take me, for example.  I would [take this wager], if I needed it to rank up.  Indeed, I have sufficient confidence in myself to use myself as this example—whereas I know that if my self-assessment be inflated, I would come off with empty conceits, and thus lose [] respect.  But I wouldn’t and don’t need to ask for merit, on any terms whatsoever.  I’m not saying that on the basis of my current merit score...  I started with zero, less than a month ago.

Now, take a contrary example (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2963499.msg30441529#msg30441529).

Observe that hilarious awarded me +5 for lancing an apparently sincere person’s abysmal misjudgment of the quality of his own poor, unrecognized posts.  I think that demonstrates my point both ways; and despite this sample size being unscientifically small, general experience with human nature will show it to be widely applicable.

OP there seemed confident.  He was not even hitting a faucet:  He started a thread to criticize the merit system, largely on the evidentiary basis that his own most excellent posts had gone unnoticed.  I don’t doubt that he put significant effort into his posts; and this may have the substantive basis of his self-confidence, whereas only the smartest students truly understand why professors do not award As for effort.  He may very well have been sufficiently confident to risk red distrust.

I do need to take back the part about not asking for merit “on any terms whatsoever”, insofar as since then, I have hit a merit faucet—once.  It’s run by one of the wittiest men on the forum; and I did it not from any need for the offered +1 to “rank up”, but rather, to fulfill a sentimental wish that merit be awarded to a post dear to my heart:

Ignoring the principal rule of this thread, I here present not what I claim to be my best post, but rather, the post which constituted my debut in the Development & Technology Discussion forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2469397.msg25696091#msg25696091).  It is the ninth post in my account’s history, made three days after I actively started posting.

Let us see if this post be truly Nullian:

  • Pro-Segwit (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2905590.msg29896057#msg29896057)?  Check.
  • Quotes Greg Maxwell?  Check.
  • Like, technical and stuff?  Check.
  • Explains that miners have exactly one function, Byzantine fault-tolerant ordering of transactions?  Check.
  • Insults the stupid and the Btrash of the world?  Check.
  • Sprinkled liberally with informative hyperlinks?  Check.
  • “Diatribe (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3009430.msg31088075#msg31088075)”?  Check.  Alternates between solemn seriousness and scathing sarcasm (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2945878.msg30449546#msg30449546)?  Check.
  • Asks, “Cui bono?”  Check.
  • Uses two spaces after a full stop (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2869862.msg31081316#msg31081316) and Unicode fancy quotes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3009430.msg31198307#msg31198307)?  Check; and, check!

I suppose it’s mine!

Though I am quoting it per the rules, I do hope that this link will be clicked (hint, hint).  The post feels so lonely, now sliding down to page 40 of my post history.  It has not been awarded any merit—none!  This is my first time ever hitting a merit faucet; and thus, now is my chance to whine justly complain about how nobody notices Newbie-ranked posts:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2469397.msg25696091#msg25696091

[—snip—]

I have also recently gained much more merit than that (+15) by winning a contest.  The contest is for a good cause (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3055616.0):  Encouraging post quality through a sportsmanlike competetion, and building a healthy culture against signature spam.  Only the top three contestants each week can get anything at all.  It also awards some modest monetary prizes, which are a considerable motivation to me:  It’s a chance to be paid something for not wearing a paid signature.  I think that’s distinguishable from a faucet, where everybody can “win” (at least till the faucet runs dry).

Now, I ask to hit a faucet again—but with a counteroffer to the terms offered.  I do this to prove a point, to wit:

This is how a merit faucet should be run, and this is how a wager ought be done:  If my last 20 posts are judged by you to be overall the work of a meritorious member of this forum, then please give +14 to the OP in my “😈😈😈 PGP 256% AIRDROP BOUNTY SIGNATURE SPAM CAMPAIGN! Old-school CRYPTO 😈😈😈 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3107429.0)”, an +14 to the very first post by my new role account (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3116545.msg32202843#msg32202843).  If not, then red-tag me to hell as a “spammer” with a serious case of the “Dunning-Kruger effect”.0  Both of me.

Double trouble.  Let me make a real bet!  Ante up.

0. The term is put in scare quotes, so as to not let Dunning and Kruger enjoy the cognitive bias of overestimating their own achievement.  The phenomenon of self-overestimation has been known to students of human experience ever since man first turned a philosophical eye on his fellow men.

actmyname, I will take your wager—but only on double-down terms:  Twice whatever you give others, if you think my last 20 posts are overall meritorious—or a red tag from you, if you don’t.
I will reject your wager for a few reasons.

First and foremost, my terms are strict in that if someone has even one low-quality post in the twenty that come before posting on this thread, they will not get the merit. Period.

Moreover, this makes your wager pointless because users should not be rated based on a singular (or a few posts) that do not have sufficient quality. Most people I know that are known for their posts will sometimes shitpost.

The negative feedback would thus have no weight, lest we create an equivalence to it with scummy activity. And in that regard, it's not really a good association to have.
It feels like the only way to get a wager that you might think is impactful is with betting something monetary or sentimental, like your name. Though in the former case, it would have to go to a charity or some third-party member because you will have bias otherwise.

Also just as a final note, you have a lot of merit anyway. I don't think that double the reward should be spent on you ;)

However, if you want to confine to the original terms that I have, then we can see.

I agree with you.

Nullius was on Meta trying to increase merit requirements for ranks. He said he was an exceptional poster who gets at least 1+ merit per day. He says he made it to Hero in 1 month.

But it seems that he's only been doing so by actively participating in these merit giveaways/contests.

I'm not one to judge or anything. But I feel like he's being a little deceptive in his Meta thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3114287.20). It sounds like he's purporting that he's naturally gaining merit points from quality posts, which I'm sure he does... it's just that he's trying to also purport that people can get 1+ merit per day and make it to Hero in 1 month simply by posting naturally and gaining merits from organic threads.

But it seems as though a significant reason why he has so many merits is because he participates in these merit giveaways/contests. In fact, you can see just how much he relies on these merit giveaways/contests by his attempt to draw 28 merit from you rather than just 14. And I especially like the tactic he tried to employ to intimidate you into giving him the merit (which I, begrudgingly, wish I had included in my own entrance into your contest): He was going to shame you for not inspecting his posts correctly if you didn't give him the 28 merit. I believe you did the right thing by rejecting his proposal.

If merits are so easily attained organically, then why would he have to resort to such? Again, I think that's fine... but I believe he should've disclosed that in his Meta thread rather than leading readers to believe otherwise.

I'm now really questioning the ease at which one may attain merits from simply posting contributory posts. But, I believe I also see it as a great challenge.

Thank you for taking the time to review my posts.

For starters please don't quote entire walls of text, edit out the part that is needed. It's irritating as hell when you need to scroll down walls and walls of text to see a 1-2 liner post referring to someone one point in the 20 odd paragraphs of text that you quoted. Secondly there's intense dislike in people for the megathreads because

  • They are generally promoting spam, generating tons and tons of useless posts pretty much exclusively for the bounties.
  • The questions are largely answered to be realistic. We don't need to have 200 pages to know that "Bitcoin makes us rich and can help us make money"

So a lot of users who actually care don't bother reading or commenting in those threads.

As much as I may or may not agree with Nullius' proposal to raise the merit ranking, most of his merit in fact didn't come from giveaways (though some may have I guess. One of his most merited posts (which contributed to around 10-12% of his total current merit) was a post about his Vanity generator for example.

I got your point. But the thing is, I don't expect many newbies (i.e. between two and four weeks of activity) to have [in ascending order of difficulty]:
a) a desire for merit immediately
b) high post quality
c) 20 high-quality posts
d) 20 consecutive high-quality posts

Please, don't send me merit. If you have merit to spare then give it to those that need it. Or save it, and in the likely case that there are more people here that deserve merit than I have available, you can send them the merit instead.
I wonder if majority numbers of people from this forum thinks like this.
Top words sir.

If you believe that you have quality posts for all 20 of your most recent posts then I will review them and if I agree I will give you 14 merit.

Thread is now unlocked! All users up until now have been reviewed. Unfortunately, writing comments for each one is too difficult so I've stuck to only leaving neutral feedback.

If you've gotten merit, then good!
If you have a neutral feedback, then try to improve your post quality by avoiding the things that I've stated in the feedback comments.
If nothing happened, then look at which posts of yours are not high-quality.

However, my ideas are already in this forum, that is why I have no post or topic just some reply to a certain topic and help new users where to get ideas.

It's good that there are people like you and  i respect you, that you waste your time, but how you will read the messages  not English, I have for example bad with English, but I began to try as best I can ..I would like to play with you, but I do not know the criteria, maybe you like only eng messages and without the bounty~ I would be glad if you would clarified this for me thx for your work!
Many of the legends even do not pay attention to new users, because they will not benefit from this and I think the essence of messages in the constructive, and not in the water in large quantities and bad english does not allow me to develop a thought, but I'm learning little by little! ...

Hi Buddy, I'm sorry for interfering but, all I saw to your post history are "shitposts" (please no offend), I'm sure that actmyname will also say the same thing. I really feel sorry for your signature campaign for accepting you. It seems like your just posting for your signature-ad campaign to get paid.
Spam posts can easily be notice by;
1. One to Two liner posts.
2. Wrong grammars.
3. Totally Irrelevant to the topic.
4. Doesn't even know how to use "I" (example in, Hi "I "am Silent26).
5. Doesn't even know how use CAPITAL LETTERS in the beginning of the post or after a Period (.).
6. Don't even know how to use" Past tense " with" ed" in the end of the word.

These are some of my basis to recognise spam posts.
Try to improve your posts buddy. Actually, I'm also been given an award of title "spammer", but I assure you that my posts are more constructive than yours :)

I can't believe all the garbage posters who've posted here.  I don't care if actmyname does it or not, but I'm leaving neutral feedbacks on the shitposters, and it's too bad they can't be negatives.

I am not proud of those 20 posts
Great reason for entering them into a contest to win merit.

I'm just going to ask some tips to improve my posts.
Why would anyone spend time to give you free advice when you can find the answer to this anywhere in Meta.  Maybe actmyname is feeling generous--I can't speak for him, and I'm done writing in this thread.

i have so much words to say but i won't write much

first of all i entered this contest never thought that actmyname will a neutral feedback indicating that I am a spammer the rule was saying that if (heavily) disagree with someone anyone i didn't know he will heavily disagree with me

second, I only say my opinion in these posts if you don't like it i don't care cryptocurrency is a free space and I say my opinion on what i see in the market and talking with people who knows the market also

and leaving negative feedback ?!! don't you think its a bit much? theymos himself said that's not what negative fb is for
i didn't scam anyone, i didn't try to sell my account

and last and not least you lost my respect even though I don't know you, but I guess you aren't a good guy I will check your previous posts and check if you have some like mine or not and leave a neutral feedback even though I guess I have the right to leave it negative because you insulted me but I don't think its a good reason because you were disagreeing with a bad way
I just left the signature and I don't really care

first of all i entered this contest never thought that actmyname will a neutral feedback indicating that I am a spammer the rule was saying that if (heavily) disagree with someone anyone i didn't know he will heavily disagree with me
When you have few posts out of the twenty that are bad, then I will ignore them and leave you alone. Meaning: no merit, no neutral feedback.

But the thing with me doing these reviews in chunks is that I am also exposed to the content that you post after the reviews (though I only skim through them before going to the relevant pages). If there is enough reason to leave a neutral feedback then I will. And it's not like I can't remove these after you show an increase (hopefully a great one) in post quality.

Hi Actmyname,

I don't speak very well English. But in French section nobody have any merit to give other people.
Some legendary have merit in stock but don't give it. They just make post to campaign signature or don't want spent time to make this.

Same you give me 14 merit the problem will not resolve.
We don't have no moderator, no Source merit.  :-\
I like the merit system. It's stop the farmer account, but it's stop good people.

With my level of English I can't made nothing to help French section.
Thx to read my message.

This is a really good initiative :)
I will risk it, maybe the previous 20 are not my best but if il end up getting input on how to improve instead of merit that is a win for me aswell :)

I think you skipped me? Or maybe i just was inbetween, not deserving neutral trust and at the same time not worthy of merit.
Just felt a little like a forgotten sheep in the flock  :D :P

As I stated, because I ran through a number of pages at once in a chunk, users that were deserving of neither merit nor feedback were simply ignored. It triples or perhaps quadruples the amount of time to write feedback for every user and when I'm doing them in large chunks like that I simply can't be bothered.

The bulk of it would probably go along the lines of, "mostly good but some posts were in pointless threads/were one-liners/were unnecessary"

Oh sorry, i thought i read everything here before posting that comment but obviously missed out that part.
I can see why you would want to keep it to a minimum with so many users posts to go through :)

Thank you sir for your consideration to us,

Before all the things, I Don't say that merit system are not good but the for me I hope everyone follow the right way of gaining merits. I think there was a member here do not follow the rules to earn merit. I also wondering is merits are for self desire or what? I don't think so if what Is the real bases fo  earning merits? Sometimes they said a quality poster are the qualification to merits. But I'm just laughing when I saw post that is just a simple as they are. Post without just any effort are granted with merit and for the post with a greatly consternations are nothing to be granted. We hope this things will not be tolerated because lower members are also sacrificing.

I made this post not for merits but to awaken everybody.

Thank you verymuch  :)

I do not have the right to ask for merit whenever i post, but with the little knowledge i have, i always feel like contributing to every post that catches my interest. I cannot say that my last twenty posts deserve to me awarded with merit, but i try as much as possible to add values and to encourage those that might seem worried in their daily tasks. You can in your benevolence review my posts and if there is any adjustment and improvement to be made i will.
Thanks.

You earned it, because all the people vying for his merit on the last page or two have been total shitposters (in my opinion).  I can't believe some of these people actually think their posts deserve merit.  Most of them deserve the neutral "shitposter" tag.

But this is not my thread and I respect actmyname's decisions.  It's his merit to give, but it drives me batty to see all of these one-line posts that people think are competition-worthy.

And this:

Being multilingual might play against me here, since I post in both English and Spanish throughout the forum, so it is rare for me to get a straight shot of 20 posts in a row in just the former language.

Out of my history of posts, the ones I favour most are those based on statistics, finding them often the base to proof or counterproof points being stated, or simply to throw some light on questions formulated throughout the forum.

Anyway, willing to get your feedback on them if the game is still on.

Man that merit system really destroyed my potential to grow in bitcointalk.

I was really close on getting to the next rank and be elligible for 100 merits, now I am 90% more far away with a more difficult system...

how is that fair?

I did them in chunks. One prior reply on page 7? (or 8) noted that I was caught up until then. That was the day that I ran through about 5 pages of requests.

A lot of posts were checked. Not many users were given merit. And there was a large number of users who got a neutral feedback.

Just like before, I'm going to do these in chunks. Kind of like a signature campaign, in a way.

May I also ask, on what page are you now? are you done reviewing? I'm looking forward for your judgement into my profile. Thanks.

Another thing, is there anyone here whom you ignored and then they turned out to be like a quality poster? or are there any participants here you put on ignore and didn't take a quite look onto their profiles? I'm just thinking if you're also like the others, like Jet Cash (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=698159) and The Pharmacist (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=487418) that ignores some people for eternity. People like them doesn't make any exemption, if you're on their list then so be it no more taking back.

Don't worry. The merit's not going anywhere; I just haven't had time to review posts yet. (Maybe it would also do well to try managing a campaign if I get the opportunity, hah)

Another thing, is there anyone here whom you ignored and then they turned out to be like a quality poster?
Anyone who is ignored has good posts. Their posts just weren't consistently good across all of the 20. I did initially write comments but they seemed pretty redundant and so I stopped.

or are there any participants here you put on ignore and didn't take a quite look onto their profiles?
I have less than 10 users on my ignore list. None of them are in this thread. I don't like ignoring people because if they have something to say, it's a pain in the ass to look.

I'm just thinking if you're also like the others, like Jet Cash (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=698159) and The Pharmacist (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=487418) that ignores some people for eternity. No need to attack others. We all have different tolerance levels. I'm just ~~way~~ more tolerant. Not to say I won't reprimand people who post with poor quality.

I'm a rarely post, I do not have 20 posts. If you want to look at this is my list :

I'll take my chances here. I just passed, the minimum necessary to become Sr Member. But I'm pretty far from the necessary merits. I do not know if what I have written is so good that it's worth a lot of merit, probably because I use the forum as a place for discussions and did not create any tutorials.

If you're Filipino, you apparently speak English very well.  I give you props for that, though I currently have no merit to give.  Maybe actmyname will find something interesting in your post history to merit.  Almost makes me not give up hope for the Philippines.  Tell me you're not an ex-pat living there.

Also:  actmyname, with this post I am done cocking up your thread here.  Sorry about that.

Actually, he's posting on the Indonesian board and the English posts like that one are copy-pastes from earlier in the thread.
Figures.  Guess I've been right all along.

Please check out my last 20 and see if I can finally bump up to member.  Some people don't take Jr. Members seriously, but the same may be true for members.  Either way, let me know what you think.

I wouldn't mind your review of my last 20 posts. Even thought some of them obviously less informative than others, I still consider most of them of at least a decent quality.

I'm looking forward to get a member status after being here for almost 6 years. That said, I was mostly reading and mostly not logged on to avoid any tracking (good old paranoia days), so no hard feeling whatsoever.

Hello guise im newbie, may i ask to this thread how can i get merit to rank up , anybody can tell me about them .

Thanks 😇
You'll get merit when you create useful posts or when someone likes your post.

This is unlikely to happen when you post the following:

Im looking forward to this project , this is very interesting project. Good luck
Because that post does not add anything to the discussion.
I plan on doing another chunk of post review soon.

I am not taking your challenge sir because i do not know your standards in giving of your merits [...] i am also needing a help to get some merits if you can check my profile then i would glad too if you will put some merits.
Uhh... what? Your posts seem to be set in a roundabout way. In my opinion, they're large and clunky.
And posting in spam megathreads will never be good. You cannot add to a lack of discussion.

One last thing:
Mining bitcoin does literally mining and producing block for bitcoin? I thought that mining is all about confirming bitcoin transactions and receuve transaction fee from the bitcoin transactions confirmation if someone has trading or selling bitcoin. I guess i need more data and information on how the system works. However, if mining does really mean mining those bitcoin chainblock then i guess there is no something special about it. As we all know bitcoin.market price movement relying on its demand and supply of bitcoin. So if bitcoin demand is high of course its price will raise and go high.
1) The topic is "Will the price be stable?" and you are writing in response to the "discussion" in the very last part of your post.

2) That's a wall of text.

Ahh, I must have missed that prior reply in the sea of responses you are bringing in with this thread. I would assume that doing them in chunks would be your best option, because attempting to do them as they pop-up would seem unreasonable and I can't think of any other way to do it. Maybe it was a silly question to ask. I wear your 14-merits as a badge of honor, knowing how many people are attempting to capitalize on your challenge and seeing them turned away by the masses. I can't imagine reading through all of these posts that are required for you to maintain this challenge. I'm wondering, if you come across a post in a user's history that doesn't qualify them for the merits do you immediately stop at that post and move on to another user or do you continue to read the rest of their recent 20-posts?

Anyways, you seem to be a good judge on the quality of posts and those that are deserving of merit, so thanks again for the opportunity and good luck to others that are interested an participating. Keep chunkin' away!

I want to gamble on this because I am sure that my posts are high-quality. Please review my last 20 posts but if you want I would say you can check 40 of them.

Actmyname have you reviewed my posts and I was rejected or my review is still pending?

I follow this thread but is hard to say how far you are with reviews. Maybe you can add sometimes that you are at this date or this post and add post number of last reviewed one. Like this, it will be easy to follow and understand how far you are and who is not awarded.

Thanks for this opportunity.

It really doesn't seem like that difficult of a concept to grasp, so I'm unsure what the confusion is. If you are reading through the thread and keeping up with actmyname's posts then you will clearly see up to what point they have been able to review the posts of users. There are multiple ways to keep track of which users have been reviewed, but the easiest way would seem to simply read the most recent 2-3 replies and see exactly what the OP has said.

I can understand why users are "impatient", but they have to understand that they are not being helpful to their own case by acting this way. There is no rush to receive merit, and if you are in that kind of rush then you are not the type of user deserving of merit, anyways. It's quite impressive that you go through multiple pages and multiple weeks of submission within one-sitting. This is something I will tip my hat to.

I have emboldened the most important part of your post, since there will surely be another dozen users asking questions revolving around the same information.
