Title: New to Crypto, Any Advice?
Post by: grey_golf on March 04, 2018, 02:50:55 PM
Hello, Im new to the Crypto world and wanted to hear some advice from the pro's on where to start. i havnt purchased any coins yet, but i have been using coinpot and various faucets. I was wondering if i should keep going with this or is it a waste of my time. Also they say theres no fee for converting coins, but i dont get the same conversion rate as i do on the coinmarketcap calculator. Basically id like to hear from the professionals maybe a strategy for really small trades, or that this is a waste of time and buy some coins with my hard earned money and go from there lol. and if thats the case, where to go. im in Canada by the way, if that helps.

Thanks for any help you can offer me. I hope to get more active in the forums and meet great/smart people along the way :)

Don't waste your time in faucets because it will take a very long time before you can earn big. As you've mentioned, you have earned money. Spend the half of your money to buy crypto, and remember invest only the money you can afford to lose. You can use "coinbase" wallet to buy crypto and hold it for a long time, or if you want to trade i will recommend "binance" because it's very easy to use and they have app for mobile phones.

Faucets are a waste of time. Do you have any skills to offer maybe?

First, I'd suggest you to start with some cheaper alt-coins to see how it goes, before you jump in with some bigger invstments. Also, you might want to follow John McAfee on twitter, he has like "coin of the week" posts and that coin usually spikes in price in the next few days.

Lurk around, nothing much to tell you tbh.

do u know what the minimum deposit is? also what kind of fees do they have on trades?

Depends on the service and you can find it all on their website, never used coinbase tho.

You're welcome. I think the minimum deposit in BTC is 0.001 it's about 11$. Buy some binance coin and use it to pay your fees and they will give you 50% discount.

Your thread is a classic example of old wine packed in new bottle, this question has been asked many times however for your reference I'll guide you.

You can earn free Bitcoins by participating in signature campaigns out here, then you could participate in Altcoins airdrops its little but never buy alts.

Make a electrum wallet segwit enabled to recieve and send coins.

Avoid cloud mining scheme's there's no one per Bitcoin free.

Do not fall for scammers, be very careful before trading.

Yeah, this could effective if you're looking to make a few easy bucks. I don't necessarily trust him, but his endorsements do carry some weight, as detailed in this article:

Do note, however, that he could very well just be orchestrating pump and dumps, so you shouldn't trust him blindly.

Best to use your own wallet than the likes of coinbase as they charge you to withdraw your funds. With your own wallet you have sole access as long as you do not give the keys to anyone.

I was milking the faucets for years and then realized what a waste of time that was when I found bounty jobs here to do instead. You can check both the bitcoin and Altcoin market section of this forum for more details and you can earn a living almost doing freelance works for various coin offerings as well as have a signature campaign when your status here on the forum reaches at least Junior level. You can then use some of those coins to trade and also check around some of the exchanges like COSS and KUCOIN, which offer up prizes for people trading volumes daily and give out prizes to traders on a monthly basis through various promotions.

Ive been to faucets before and to be honest, its a complete waste of time so if you are serious in crypto, avoid from it. If you want to buy a coin, review many times first and join to their groups for any updates. Buy only cryptos which are at least top 30 in the coinmarketcap site.  Just have patience, stop for being greedy and make a target for your profit.

John McAfee is better than FUD. So far McAfee's predictions have a lot of truth although sometimes his post is slightly less logical but at least he was able to lead a more positive opinion for the growth of crypto.

2. always take research about the coin you want to buy.

3. DO NOT PANIC BUY OR PANIC SELL. because the newbie habbit is if they see the price at green they buy but they didn't nlknow that gree is the peak of the price

1. Acquire more knowledge on crypto currency and their future
2. Know about prominent crypto currencies.
3. Keep watching the trdaing trend
4. Invest small portion of your money initially
5. At the beginning, invest. do not try to trade.

Yes stop wasting your time on faucets and buy some coins/tokens with your money and do your own research before buying any coin. there are some good project which are still in early stages and prices are cheap. Do research, buy and hodl for some months, take profits and repeat. ;)

Yes surely you will do that all over the time. Just keep in mind that crypto currency are real bad ass in terms of their volatility. This affects many things, faucet earnings, trading patterns, fees, regulations and much more. Yes that alone can do all these things and can kill the whole story. What I think about crypot is very simple, you dont do anything here with emotions, dont make any noise while doing the trades because you should do it very calmest possible.  :)

You are getting lot of other tips and advices up there but do remember all my points when you will follow their tips and advices.  :D

First of all welcome on board, if you're looking to gain knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies then you are on the right platform. I would recommend you to invest your time before investing your money. Spend as much as your time in reading valuable post and try to learn and understand the things. Crypto market is highly volatile in nature so do your own research before making any investment decision. Remember you can lose your money if you're doing it in the wrong way so you are responsible for your actions.

if you like faucets, give iq cash a try. iq cash is a token on the wave platform. you have to solve some easy puzzle and for every puzzle you get one iqcash token. first of all you need a wallet on https://waveswallet.io/
with the address from the wave platform, you can go to https://iqcash.net/ and solve some puzzle. its all for free and you can make some trades with the iqcash token on the wave platform.

Just like nothing else tbh, but he's good for the smaller investments like up to 20$ or something like that, nothing much to lose but will bring in some good profit otherwise. Might as well, I don't know, but however it can still bring in some nice profit.

Hey there ! I think its great that  you started in crypto. but personally i would suggest you read about the coins that interest you and if you believe in them invest but dont trade as its very risky and volatile. Just hold on to them and wait for the long term just like the bitcoin ! Alot of people who were trading it back then regret when the price went sky rocket ! just buy what you believe in and hold for long term :)

There are a few method's for buying crypto, the one I advocate is buying a set amount monthly, use only what you can spare from your personal budget and buy that much monthly for the most part you should be able to make decent savings and ROI.

I think you should avoid the faucet. It is waste of time. You can purchase some good potential coin. Don't buy dead or inactive coin. Try to know about coinmarketcap as you are new on it.

Some say that trade is a form of gambling. While these two things have something in common, at the same time, they are very different. While gambling, there is a certain likelihood of both winning and failing. However, when you trade assets, it becomes much more complicated. That's why this point will help you understand how to earn Bitcoins through trading.

The simplest method in this case is arbitration, the concept of which is very simple. We buy on a given exchange rate on one stock exchange and immediately sell on the other at a higher price. However, you should make sure that we can sell the asset immediately at a certain price. If it fails, then talk about speculation. In this case, you can buy a cryptocurrency and then wait until its price increases so that you can earn Bitcoins.

Well, my main advise would be: don't do anything without learning a lot about Bitcoin before. And also, never forget to invest only money that you can afford to lose.

Unfortunately, no one in crypto money market can give any serious advice to anyone. Because the market really is not very stable. My recommendation is not to rush as you make your decision and remember that while the price of Bitcoin rises both as it goes down, almost all of the altcoin lose value. You should not forget that you can always fall to the bottom, and you can go on top. Crypto money can always lose more value. If you do not have an idea on this topic, you can look at the charts of altcoin between March of this year and March of this year.

Don't be rushy to buy cryptos that's the first thing you must learn here and always trust your researchies. Another advice would be to never invest what you cannot afford to loose.

First of all I want to say that ,from my opinion, faucets are just a waist of time because you spend a few hours everyday for just a few bucks wich is horrible and I think you can do other useful things in that time. Personally I dont know very much about trading but I know that a lot of people make great profit from it, but in the same time it is pretty risky if you do the wrong things.

I would say it is a good thing for the beginning to just buy some coins from your money and learn more about bitcoin. Keep in mind that there are fees when you exchange bitcoin into cash or vice versa when you buy bitcoin with cash because nothing is free. You could fins persons that sell you bitcoins with no fee but you still have to pay fees for bitcoin transactions.

Faucets are not profitable at all and they are just a waste of time, they give a small amount of money comparing to what they earn from you opening their sites, the best ways to earn cryptos especially bitcoin is to simple use your skills if you have ones such as designing or writing to get hired and paid with bitcoin, or buy and hold which i don't recommend it because it is a way risky, otherwise you can work in signature campaign then you will be able to gain bitcoin and knowledge as well.

Everyone has to start somewhere.
Faucets in my opinion are a waste of time and effort, you do get small amounts but compared to the amount you may of earned a couple of years ago. Saying that tho small amounts you get now could increase in years to come.

It could be a good idea to maybe look into buying btc from the likes of coinbase and signing up to bittrex cryptopia or other exchanges.

Really it all depends on how much you are willing to invest it's not like you have to buy a full btc. Have you thought of mining and trading what you mine?

You may not waste time on faucets. It's no use. I recommend that you thoroughly study the topic of bitcoins. You can use information from Google, chat here on the forum. You can earn a small amount on the forum, but it is only a bonus for you. You will need to buy coins and trade on the stock exchange. When you have experience it is not difficult. The most important thing in crypto-Economics is knowledge and desire to work.

I'm not pro when it comes to trading, My advice to you is to start at the beginning. Here in the forum there are many opportunities, you can use your hidden talents. If you know how to make a signature you can apply it here. If you are an expert in translating English into your language you can apply here. By that you can earn altcoins you can use as a starting point in trading.

Working with faucets is useless nowadays, they give out very small amounts and require hard work and waste a lot of time. Firstly you have to learn more about crypto currencies, and this forum can help you really to get this needed knowledge. Stay active and try to rank up your account in this forum and you will find many opportunities to earn BTC and altcoins with small work here (compared to faucets).

Well said! If you have certain skills in the field of programming you could earn very well by offering your skill on the market. The signature campaigns are way much better in comparison to the faucets which are waste of the time. Best thing would be if the money is earned through your own investing in the market. This way you can gain a nice amount of the profit if you have collected required knowledge about the cryptos. There are many ways of obtaining the crypto to your wallets you should just find the best way that suits your skills and time.

John McAfee is better than FUD. So far McAfee's predictions have a lot of truth although sometimes his post is slightly less logical but at least he was able to lead a more positive opinion for the growth of crypto.

He does bring good publicity, but the more people trust him, the more sway he will have on the market. The people he brings in, he can also bring out. He's only saying good things about crypto until he doesn't. Take his crypto recommendations, for example. They only received relevance because of him, and the moment he withdraws his recommendation, he removes the only reason why people invested in the first place. You're at his mercy if you follow him to the letter, basically.

Don't follow McAfee, many people have already lost their money on many occasions.

https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/9knnpz/john-mcafee-twitter-coin-of-the-day-cryptocurrency-markets

Its better to have your own research before investing into any coins.

Yup, I was just saying that there is a pattern between his recommendations and price rises, and a newbie could take advantage of this by making a quick buck. I wouldn't recommend HODLing; it's likely best to dump as soon as you get some profit.

Have you thought of mining and trading what you mine?

you mean GPU mining or cloud mining? i dont want to waste electricity so GPU mining is prob out of the question. I have looking into buying 5 year and 24 hour contracts Cloud SHA-256 4.0 on eobot.com, but it doesnt look profitable. any thoughts?

if you are a new comer in this platform then you have to take every step very carefully otherwise you may face a lot of problem. So you must read writing regarding this platform. Not only that but also you will find a lot of papers related to this block chain system. At first, you have to choose your way in a specific way then you could find a profitable platform.
I think saving is the best policy at a initial stage like Bitcoin or Ethereum saving. if you can then certainly you will get a lot of profit in the future.

You've probably got a little more used to crypto in the month since you posted here, OP but I am going to suggest you retain a healthy sense of apprehension, especially on bitcointalk.  There are scammers and otherwise dishonest people lurking in every corner here and it can be very easy to lose your money if you're not paying attention or if you take people at face value.

Stay away from the ICO's in the altcoin section is another thing.  Most of the projects are going to go nowhere and are being run by some extremely shady people.

Faucets can be fun when you're starting out, but you should know that they're a huge waste of time.  The amount of bitcoin you can earn by doing them is extremely small and you would be better off joining a bounty or buying bitcoin with your real life earnings.

Investing would be a good start. Choose a cryptocurrency that you think will be worth holding for a long period of time such as Bitcoin. Also, be awared of the risks involved with cryptos particularly wiyh the natural volatility in the market which sometimes result into loss of profit. Also consider being payient with things becauze profit won't come in an instant in cryptos.

You can earn really through coinpot and faucet but too small and it is a waste of time. I also started that when i enter in crypto but someone told me to join here in bitcointalk forum and from here i learn a lot. I joined bounty campaign and it is the best way to earn if you have no starting capital. But if you have money try to buy coins and bitcoins and invest it for long term while learning how to earn for short term through trading. Don't put yourself in a hurry. Learn in crypto step by step, little by little.

My advise is: do not invest money with loans or with money you may need very soon. This market is very risky and you can loose most of your money

Do not ever use leverage trading!

Do not trade altcoins if you do not know what you are doing

Rest is fine

Hey Bud,

The best advice I can give you is to learn as much about the coins as possible before investing. Get a real understanding as to what blockchain is and what the differences between each coin are. For example some use Proof of Work POW and some use Proof of Stake POS and some have smart contracts included, like Viva Network and some do not. Read up on Andreas Antonopoulos he's got a few great books that can explain crypto and blockchain really well. There are also a ton of good youtube videos and ted talks that explain how it all works. Hope that helps, best of luck and welcome to the future!  :)

There’s now over 1300 cryptocurrencies on coinmarketcap.com, and dozens of exchanges, and many layers of technologies to understand. The crypto world can be quite overwhelming for newcomers, and it takes plenty of time and research to understand how to get started, and to avoid costly mistakes.

First and foremost, investors just getting started with Bitcoin need to do their homework. The more you understand the better off will be. Second, risk is inherent to investment, and investors should keep in mind that digital currency is in a very early stage of development when compared to similar asset markets like the stock or bond markets.Do not put all your eggs in one basket. The basic idea behind diversification is creating a portfolio where a decline in one component will correspond with an equal gain in another.

Firstly, if you want to know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, then stay with the original platform. You have to spend money and time in it. You need to know about A-Z before Bitcoin. Think before investing and consult with someone. Remember that you will lose a lot due to a wrong decision. So be careful.

Faucets are really a mere waste of time.Instead you could invest in cryptos especially in bitcoin which seems to give higher returns to its investors. If you wish to invest in altcoins, then you could go with older coins as they seem to be much safer investment than newer coins which mostly fail.

or you can participate in some campaign that paid you in fractions of bitcoin.

Your faucets and coinpot just spent for leisure time, after your knowledge has been growing enough then you can find opportunities in crypto space. If you like trading, it needs some capital and sufficient knowledge as the risk quite high even the revenue is very attractive.

Bitcoin obtained from the faucet is not much unless you have a lot of followers refferal then it will feel the result because we get a commission from the refferal activity. Try to trade on a small scale or you can more hard work again to follow the various bounty and signature campaign in this forum.

if you can store your coins, you can use it later for trading, buying tokens, or investing to other project.
in coinmarketcap, you can find many exchanges that you can use it for trading.

Since you are here on this forum why not read a couple of threads to increase your knowledge. Once you have acquired enough knowledge you can join bounty campaigns here to earn bitcoin.

I tell you that airdrop and faucet are wasting your precious time now. My advice is that you should spend your energy on learning professional knowledge and improving your membership grade of the two things, after your level to JR may be able to do some bounty tasks.

If someone new to crypto then I suggest them to choose Bitcoin among other crypto because bitcoin is more trusted and user then other crypto and it is also accepted in many country and trade by many online retailer. If someone want secure income with crypto then they will start signature campaign job or bounty campaigns because these job are easy to do and trusted. Beginner should not try investment because crypto currency are volatile in nature and their market price is not stable. Beginner's can also try faucet, mining, trading etc in order earn cryptocurrency.  ;)

I think doing faucet and airdrop is totally wasting time not worth. For beginner you should read more and dont try to trade. Or if you dont have a lot bucks for investing in bitcoin you may do bounty job. Like social media bounty and signature.

The Faucets was once popular. That's what it means to say online income at that time. You got a new way to leave the old concept. The forum has a great learning program for you to understand. Here you know a lot more then. It will not take time to earn, there is a chance to earn income here. Follow traders. It is possible to earn on their way.

Again, do not waste your time on faucets, once you've earned buy other currencies, and start investing, work on your money, money won't work for you so I'd suggest to stop on working on faucets, its a great decision for a kicksrarter, and since you are in this forum it is also great to be active and learn more, this forum is helpful and will give you a lot more knowledge to know what to do with your HODLings.

Try to become more literate on making investments, joining ICOs and joining various campaigns like sigs, bounties, social media campaigns and airdrops, avoid getting scammed since it can be a big waste of time, and will also waste your money. Secure your wallet, your keys, store it on a safe place, avoid getting hacked, since you are new to crypto, you'll be getting instances wherein some anonymous person will offer you big time deals, just remember that passwords, addresses are not necessary that you give it, do not expect that these deals or offerings are real, take time to research, and explore if it really is legitimate.

Investing into cryptocurrency is a good thing but Investors need to learn alot. Some of the things to take note include:
1)- the returns can be massive.
2)-Liquidity
3)- Never invest what you can't afford to lose
4)-Transparency
5)- Security
6)- don't be greedy
7)- always do research before investing in any coins.

Always keep your wallet details safe and store offline.

Investing in cryptocurrencies involves taking risk. markets are volatile. moreso,  they are still a great opportunity for anyone interested in investing. Treat them as you would any investment and please do your own research.

The singular best piece of advice I can give to you is get well versed in the knowledge of this industry prior to hopping into a bunch of coins. That way you will know what is happening and why it is happening rather than playing a pure guessing game. Sure you could win at guessing in chess or you could master the game and win strategically. Same goes for crypto, don't be the lucky guess fellow, be the strategically inclined fellow.

Buy because you believe in the technology and the team and the community. not because someone on reddit or youtube mentioned it
Buy SafeCoins (BTC, LTC,ETH) and Mid-Risk Coins (DASH, BTS, ANS, XRP, ETC...) you know the top 20 coins.
Don't buy ICO as if you know shit
Buy during US / CHN Market hrs, more volume more dips and highs
Don't be an idiot and think you know how to day trade
Buy for the long term (it's not 3 mths/6mths. it's 3 years or 5 years )
Don't buy all at once. Phase out ur buy wkly/mthly. e.g. i want to invest 30% on whatever coin into my portfolio. put in 5% 6 times over 1/2 mth period. put in more during dips. i know you just started and you want to get in in the action quick. but do take this time to understand this market cause its fucked up
Be Brave and HODL when shit gets bad
Learn how to use a Wallet
Dont Buy shit coins
Always use 2 Factor Security
It's okay to buy and sell reading the news and picking up whats trending
Don't Invest in what you can't lose

The first and simplest mindset that people latch onto is dead wrong.

"It's going up, I better buy a whole bunch and sell that when it's done going up!" Nope, nope nope. Sell a portion of what you already bought when it was low.

"It's going down, I better sell everything and buy it back when it's done going down!" Nope, nope nope. Keep some cash on the sidelines to buy when it goes down. Not sell.

Even I don't follow my own rules sometimes but what 4 years of Crypto trading taught me is never sell below what you have bought unless you need cash to do something else.

And never sell all of a coin when it increases. Sometimes you think a 50% increase in a day is a bubble but it isn't. If you want to take profit, sell like 75% of it but always leave some portion because it may continue going to the moon.

One of the first rules of any kind of trading is not to invest more than you can afford to lose. Even though the outlook for Bitcoin is overwhelmingly positive, the fact remains that the cryptocurrency market is extremely volatile, with large gains and losses happening in a matter of minutes. So, instead of putting the majority of your savings onto a trading platform, start with a small percentage - perhaps maximum of 10%. This should allow you enough money to play around with, but not so much that you will spend years playing catchup if you make a wrong move or the whole enterprise goes belly-up. Especially as a beginner, it's important to realise that you are going to make losses until you learn the hard way what not to do, so make sure those losses are manageable.

If you are just new to this, I suggest to you that you should participate in bounty campaigns specifically the signature campaign. In this way, you can earn money while learning about cryptocurrency at the same time. That is how I started and I earn good amounts of money. I also search for things that I do not know when I encounter topics that are not familiar to me. Then if you have enough knowledge, you can proceed to learn new skills like trading.

[/quote]

I think this is very good advice, especially in regard to alt coins - there are many other ways to get alt coins, so explore these avenues and if you do have money to invest, I would advise to stick to the big boys, like BTC or ETH, but be prepared to see your investment drop by 70% or the day after you buy it :)

In my opinion, Bitcoin that we can get from the faucet is not much unless we have a lot of refferal followers will feel the result because we will get a commission or wage from refferal activities that we do, but we must try to trade on a small scale or we can work even harder to follow the various bounty and signature campaigns in this forum for more profit.

I’d also add that you should also identify your version of a blue chip (in my case it’s ETH). The thing you’ve researched and know is sound, and would bet your entire trading stack on if someone put a gun to your head.

I have thought for cryptodecades (so like 1 year) that ETH was, and continues to be, undervalued relative to the market. Hence it’s my personal blue chip.

Given that the first thing people want to do when panicking is to “sell back to fiat”, you’ll note that lots of your funds are usually only convertible to another crypto on most exchanges. So regardless of what you want to do, you basically cannot make it home to fiat quickly. What to do?

Instead of panicking - either hold fast in what you’ve got OR retreat but retreat to something YOUVE done research on and think is blue chip (for some it’s BTC, others it’s NEO, others it’s VeChain, others it’s some combo, etc etc). That way even when “everything is going down”, if you took a few moonshots and they look terrible, you at least always KNOW where intermediate homebase is. If you haven’t thought of this stuff yet, well you should have, but thankfully Reddit’s community has vetted certain names over and over again and for all the flack people here get, there actually ARE decent and great traders on this site. If you’re invested and panicking and are a noob and don’t know the above names, get to work here and see which one of the names you like.

And, if you do do such a thing and retreat, I’d suggest just hanging on for a bit in that position. If your blue chip is getting hammered — well that’s just what sometimes happens in crypto, and a correction back up will occur because the underlying cryptofundamentals are, relatively speaking, good. Also, note the overall marketcap - cryptoblues usually only get hammered when the ENTIRE marketcap is going down. And if that’s happening, remember that history has recently shown that 100-200 billion dollar swings in the overall MC happen quite readily.

Not rocket science but I feel today newbies might be nervous. Keep your heads in the game. As someone here once said, it takes balls of steel to create wealth - and those balls are only necessary when the market is going DOWN, not up.

1) Never sell for loss. Market is still evolving quite rapidly and there are more chances that your investment is going to increase from your buying price in due course even if it's at loss presently. A bit of patience will be fruitful later.

2) Never fall prey to FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) and FOMO (fear of moving in). Remember that old saying - grass is always greener on the other side. Do some research and keep believing in your investment.

3) Alts always seem to go down when bitcoin is swinging wildly, no matter which direction bitcoin is moving. However, they catch up pretty quickly once bitcoin stablizes. Therefore don't panic sell if you see a plunge.

4) Prices almost always tend to correct/go down after a brisk increase or all time high.

5) No-one can predict the price of a coin, so, if anyone is doing so he must be misleading. Fundamental/technical analysis can help predict the trend though.

Above all, keep faith in the almighty, and your coins will MOON one day!!

Charts with lines and arrows are crap (sorry to you chartists out there). This isn't like dealing with stocks. You cant project earnings, look at financials, etc. People will constantly look for trends, some of which may actually be true, but the majority of people are just making a case for people to buy in to a specific token. This is a 24/7 365 industry, and it acts as such. It's always changing and trying to predict successes is like herding cats. I love day trading stocks and charting is a huge help to me there...not so much here.

Holding is the best policy. Unless you're working with enough money, day trading can be difficult to turn a profit. You may very well hit the jackpot one day and wake up with some serious $$$, but don't expect every project to do that. This industry is reliant on adoption, and fed with speculation. Pick projects you can see lasting in this industry for years to come.

Speculation rules the world. Words have serious power in this industry. A tweet from a developer can result in a spike, so do your best to stay on top of any news. I've only been on Reddit for two weeks, simply cause I felt like I had nothing to contribute previously, but don't be afraid to share what you find (with sources of course). Reddit is a great place for it, however....

First the faucet don't waste too much of your time there. I've been there I was noob before.  It will not make any difference. Instead find someone who you can follow , what to read, watch video and find expert who has been in crypto for quite sometimes.  Don't borrow money just to invest. Never sell at lose. Avoid Pump and Dump Group.

faucet is nothing than wasting time i guess. Even some airdrops are not worth to do because the rewards is very small.
the advice i want to give you is if you have a limited time, i suggest you to not doing such things. If you want to earn some coins, do bounty instead.

I will suggest you to invest only in top 10 coins based on market cap. You will not be able to pick good coins from the new projects, you will learn this with time.

I was wondering if i should keep going with this or is it a waste of my time. Also they say theres no fee for converting coins, but i dont get the same conversion rate as i do on the coinmarketcap calculator. Basically id like to hear from the professionals maybe a strategy for really small trades, or that this is a waste of time and buy some coins with my hard earned money and go from there lol. and if thats the case, where to go. im in Canada by the way, if that helps.

hi, my suggestion is u should learn the basics first about crypto to avoid scams or anything. if you're trying to earn some money, try to download telegram on your phone, it is a very easy way to earn crypto. :) and if you are trying to buy some, look at the market cap, not the price. i'd say that investing is also a good idea.

In my opinion, if we want to know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, then keep looking for the original platform, because we do not need to waste time on the faucet because ROI is timely invested very badly. It's better to participate in a signature campaign here, if we do not want to invest the money or saet we have today.

You can engage in long term investments into bitcoin or any popular altcoin like the eth, but remember the market is volatile, very unstable so i would advice you invest what you can afford to lose. This is all about risk taking. Day trading is also another way to make some money in crypto but that requires expert. You can also invest in ICOs but that also comes with scam projects. Understand about investing, trading, buying and selling crypto currency, the price of crypto currency and its development, crypto currency market and much more. After you've read a lot, I'm sure you'll get more coin enlightenment what you should buy. Especially if you can analyze the market then you will be able to determine which coins have a bright future. The key do not be lazy and do not get bored reading.

I think you can check out the bitcoin and Altcoin markets section of this forum for more details and you can earn a living by doing freelance work for various coin offers as well as having a signature campaign when your status here on forums reaches at least a Junior level. You can then use some coins to trade and also check out some exchanges like COSS and KUCOIN, which offer prizes for trading volumes of people every day and reward merchants on a monthly basis through various promotions.
I flushed the faucet for many years and then realized how much time wasted when I found a job here instead.

In the cause of my extensive research in the early days, I’ve realized a very important rule of the thumb in the crypto markets — only invest what you’re willing to part ways with. This is because the market is exceptionally volatile, one which is fueled by hype and market sentiments rather than fundamental elements. This makes the crypto markets intensely risky; that’s why you have the potential to make loads of money or lose everything instantly. In modern finance, this is exemplified by the relationship:

Well in investing into cryptos you have to be patient, open-minded and very strategical in order to have low profit loss. Strategically like you know when to buy and when to sell your coins and what to do into a certain phenomena that is happening to bitcoin market. You can also ask to this forum about your questions since this forum is filled with veteram investors anyways. Be patient because it is as it is in investing into cryptos.

Faucets are fair to some extent but can not earn you big as you are aware. You should however ensure not to put all your eggs in one basket in any case you want to start trading. Meaning you should not invest all your total capital on just one coin aside not biting more than what you can chew[Don't invest what you can not afford to loose]. Additionally, Diversification also make a lot of help, where you divide your capital into about two three coins you have researched into for Trading. So that the Dip of one could be raised by the hype of the other. Lastly wear the cloth of risk to avoid panicking. Best luck.

True, the faucet is just a mere whip if you follow In 2017 until now. Probably still very generating for 2015-2016.

Binance, despite being attacked by hackers, still has a very large audience for crypto trading. Ease of register And complete security package is Which makes binance much in demand by the community.

It is best practice to conduct your research. Although the market is relatively young, you should exercise your due diligence and read as much as possible about digital coins. Knowing how much you want to invest in a certain coin, and setting milestones/goals on how high or low you’re willing to let a coin go before you sell will limit your risk and help you succeed in your investment decisions.

Seeing how you are in Canada I would take advantage of the mining game. Mining a Bitcoin may be too expensive and difficult but with reduced energy electricity costs due to the cold, you can surely find a profitable coin to mine year round. Mining Bitcoin can range from $500 to 26k and if I remember that map correctly it cost roughly 4k to mine Bitcoin in Canada. This goes to show that mining in Canada can be good, if you are setup in the right location of course.

There are new coins that are being developed and while they do present opportunities for ground floor involvement, these are high risk ventures as most do not gain traction. Despite, they are still an aspect of crytocurrencies.
Unless you are a well capitalized venture capitalist, these are opportunities you may want to skip.  There are enough altcurrencies that have already began to move that you can participate in but you'll need to study and  be guided as to the right ones to consider.

Become educated in this space, and just read everything. I would also think about short term and long term positioning for your purchases. For example, a long term position may be a token like Digipulse, a decentralized digital inheritance service built on the chain. Super undervalued and low price at the moment, and in my opinion a good buy now to HODL for the future. There service and value will surely rise in the future. They also just launched their main platform on July 1, and will allow you a 30 day free trial to test it out. Then you have short term buy and sells that you can leverage to build dollars for other financial moves/decisions.

Before you enter in crypto you must have the knowledge on how cryptocurrency functions so that you may have the knowledge on what you will do in order to stabilize and adjust in crypto. You must know what crypto is and what is the used of cryptocurrency to other people, why many people are patronizing crypto. There are a bunch of things that you should make sure that you should do as you are new to the market;
Make sure that you are only investing the amount of money that you know tat you can afford to lose in case things go tits up
Always make sure that you are doing research into any coin that you are investing in
Make sure that your choices are your own and you are no investing in any thing because anyone said so.

Basically id like to hear from the professionals maybe a strategy for really small trades, or that this is a waste of time and buy some coins with my hard earned money and go from there lol. and if thats the case, where to go. im in Canada by the way, if that helps.

Thanks for any help you can offer me. I hope to get more active in the forums and meet great/smart people along the way :)

no effort betrays the results, if you think the faucet doesn't waste your time then do what you like. but, currently the faucet doesn't pay as much as it used to when crypto was still not as famous as it is today.
well, maybe my advice is what if you start with trading. however you have to study first because the trade is not as easy as in the faucet.

I think you need to start with learning. There is a lot of information about the crypto market on the Internet. The mistake of beginners is the reluctance to study the processes that occur in the market.

You are right, carefully and more often seek or analyze situations and also the development of cryptocurrency and markets. Then someone will be more confident and less likely to regret investing. This means that it is not easy to make decisions that will end in vain in the future. The right advice.

Don't do faucets, do bounties instead. You can earn more rather than sticking up to faucets. In my opinion, it is such a waste of time. You can read some articles and research some ideas regarding cryptocurrency. Don't ever feel panic, once the emotions get in the trading, its over.

Crypto is a very risky business especially if you are new. You can learn about crypto by doing your own research. You should be ready to invest money you can lose, and also being new to the system,  you can invest in Bit coin because it is the best coin you can get.

Hi, dont do faucets anymore.  It is a complete waste of time and effort unless the coin would do a 10000x jump in price.  If you are not willing to invest in your hard earned money, then it will be perfect for you earn some investment funds by doing bounties and airdrops.  Use these blessings to buy the couns which you think will appreciate much in time.

The faucet is a waste of time. For beginners, I think will be useful bounty company, as you risk only their lost time, but for that you have the opportunity to get as much information reading and paying every day for example an hour of time you will in any case emphasize the necessary information.

Faucets are definitely just a waste of time . Pay attention to bounty campaigns and airdrops if you are looking for some kind of earnings without financial investments, but keep in mind that this will take a lot of your time and the final payments may disappoint you a lot. Trading can be much more profitable, but requires significant financial investments. In any case, stop wasting time on faucets and start exploring the options for earning that I have listed above in order to determine what suits you best.

courage and knowledge are the main capital that we must have if we invest in crypto. Extensive knowledge will help you in choosing coins or projects and will also make you confident in your choices because they are based on your analysis. but all that won't happen if you don't have courage. so knowledge and courage are needed.

If you are coming in as an investor,  I would suggest that you get accustomed to the intricacies on how the cryptocurrency market works.
Do not be greedy.
Take profit when you see it, no matter how little.
Never panic sell your holdings at a loss.
Be greedy when others are scared.

You need to do a thorough study of information about this market, to understand how it works to become a professional trader. And try not to panic if things don't happen the way you want, try to think coolly.
yes as the most important first step is to understand the whole of the main market, altcoin and mental systems to deal with the unpredictable crypto situation. in other words trading crypto many risks that arise, not rash and looking for an easy stage to follow the bounty campaign properly and give a quality post. whatever it is, be careful not to get stuck.

As a new to crypto, I wouldn't really recommend diving straight into the whole trading world. The easiest thing for you to do would be to buy some long hold coins and transfer them to your personal wallet (NEVER leave coins to exchanges for bigger periods of time!).

I recommend that you participate on bounty campaigns than spending your time on faucets. You basically earn tokens on bounty campaigns by doing some work in return. Faucets are a waste of time it will take a long time for you to earn good amount on faucets. Whenever you earn tokens try investing half of it and hodl the other half.

Faucets are a waste of time in my opinion, I’d much rather find a crypto coin that is backed by a good team and product and invest in that with my own money.
Some pointers are never buy into hype, don’t buy a coin because someone said so or its price is suddenly surging or some group says it’s a good idea, do your own research and make your own assumptions and never invest what you cant afford to loose.

Create a criteria of what a coin needs to have before you even consider looking further. This could be things like website, active social media platforms, team disclosure and verify them, github activity, are they just another fork or do they offer new innovation, what effort have they put into their platforms/wallets/whitepaper/roadmap, are they POW/POS/DPOS/MN etc therefore can you make your money make money, this is just an example of some of the things to look for but obviously make your own criteria.

Then join their social media platforms and monitor them for a while, watch their price fluctuations, watch the community, see if they keep to their promises/deadlines/product and then only would I maybe consider them as an investment.

Then again how you manage your risk is up to you as you will notice many might have far greater or even less risk appetite. You need to assess what type of investor you are and do what you feel comfortable with.

Also do not leave your coins on exchanges, the amount of money that has been lost to hacks and exit scams is horrifying. Always encrypt and backup your wallets and write your private keys somewhere very safe.

Faucet can help you to earn btc but as for your standard it would not be worthy for your efforts. It is a time consuming activities that after all of your doing just point something btc reward. I suggest joined bounty campaign and have much better result if you got lucky.

Most of the coins came to me through buying them on the stock exchange. If you bought coins at the end of 2017, then I sympathize with you, because in the near future you will not be able to withdraw this money back with a profit. You need to wait 1-2 years. During this time, you can try to engage in airdrops or bounty programs.

Well firstly I will advise you to go for enough airdrops for the first two months to know what it's all about and am sure the person who introduced u should have told you that, and don't be too rush to invest cause that will chase you away if you try it, do more bounty in the next 3 months you have started.

advice for you from me, but this is my personal opinion :
1. Don't buy altcoins with small volumes, because to sell them later in the future is very difficult.
2. invest in the top 100 altcoins (the biggest top 300), because it's safer and the price will definitely increase in the future.
3. don't sell your altcoin when the price goes down (panic sell) because it will make you regret when the price goes up, so you better hold it (because I'm sure the price will increase).

If you are going to ask me well the only advise that I could give and this advise I always give when someone asks me about cryptos is simply "just do your part". Yes, I did not say "be positive" or "do hard work" or something like that but what I really mean by this is that there is something in crypto that makes one give up after a year or two of not earning anything here. Just do whatever you got to do and see for yourself if this is really your world or not.

Any new to crypto can take on crypto investment now that the market value of cryptos are low. You can always check the market as of now and see how these cryptos are valued last December and January. From there, you can tell how much deep it goes down so it's really good to invest at a very cheap market value.

You can see a lot of advice about this market but I think that most important one is searching all about this market because ıf you have full information about this market, you can invest sort term or long term and can know when you should withdraw your investment.

The first step in crypto consciousness is understanding the underlying technology - blockchain. Invest only what you're willing to lose, this is because the market is exceptionally volatile, one which is fuel by hype and market sentiments rather than fundamental elements. Also to focus on the long run, especially if you do not have the necessary trading or technical skills.

The main advice for you is not to spend money just like that and try to use your cryptocurrency only for important purposes. This is the key to success. It seems to me that in addition to this you definitely need to know that the weekly analysis is a necessity

First, I would suggest you do some study and reading about cryptocurrency. Then you can participate by joining different projects as much as you can handle on it. You can do signature, but you should first do is to be ranked up as much as a Jr member to avail these bounty. Do wallets that need on the campaigns and kept your private keys to avoid getting your coins on the wallets. Be aware of phishing sites.

Understand why you are here.  What do you want from cryptocurrency?  How much time is ready to devote?  And one more thing, do not rush to plunge into it without trying

my suggestion is be careful before investing on any coin, just you have to everything about project that you want to invest and invest small amount in first attempt...

The first and the main task for a newbie is to start learning everything that is connected with the cryptocurrencies. Open YouTube and find there the channels about the crypto trading. Then, pick the best tokens to invest in them.

I think you need to know first what is really your reason why you want to participate in crypto. I saw many people who are enthusiastic and want to be very rich at the fastest way possible but their hopes get lost once they do not really achieve anything after a year or two. So you need to prepare yourself for any possibilities that you can lose and you can lose everything.

The best advice I could give to a newbie right now is that you should take your time and allow yourself grow in knowledge of the industry. Don't be in too much haste to get things done. |Equip your self with proper knowledge, and set a target goal for yourself. Also learn to be patient if you are not already, you will need it for survival.
This new coin was releases in hype market which value is in lower rate and I don't think there will be a good potential to grow its volume  because this is not proven to fluctuates .I just only reliable to buy or invest in old coins due to its survivalry.

Don't blindly participate in the ICO project investment and don't blindly believe that someone tells you the future of a coin. Investment is a self-contained project, and you must think independently.

Don`t do anything blindly, especially dont give money without checking for what you are giving money actually. This is only advice we can give to newbies, even thou we are here for a lot longer we dont know everything, there are so many new things and most of us trying to keep up, we check things, we read about new things, to sum it up we are learning every day about crypto world, be sure that this learning process last for years and i think there is no end of learning about crypto.

One of the main tips for you-do not try to sell cryptocurrency at the first profit. Try to do it when you see the maximum benefit and then you will definitely succeed. You will be able to pay off completely

Beginners are always very difficult. In addition, it is even more difficult for beginners to cope with their fears about cryptocurrencies and because of this they can make many mistakes. I think that it is necessary to overcome all fears and only because of this you will become a good specialist

I agree with yongbaseo's posts. It will take some time before you begin to make real profits. But as you've already earned some money, you can spend a half and buy some amount of bitcoin. In addition to Coinbase, I would also suggest taking a closer look at CEX  (https://www.cex.io/buy-bitcoins). There, you can acquire cryptos with cards or via wire transfer. Furthermore, the exchange provides you with a cold storage.

It's hard to give you a good suggestion now, especially for investment, I can't guarantee which crypto will bring you profit, because 90% of the coins in the market are experiencing this serious decline, I think the best advice now is don't buy any coins or even bitcoins easily. For a newbie, this is a very high risk thing.

Best to use your own wallet than the likes of coinbase as they charge you to withdraw your funds. With your own wallet you have sole access as long as you do not give the keys to anyone.

That is true, it is better to have the wallet you have it now. As of this time bitcoin is really down but a few months before it keeps booming without control. Though their are many obstacles and circunstances that we are afraid of but that is part of the business if we are dealing to investment.

Like everyone said, faucets are just a waste of time you should rather join bounty campaigns or if your gonna go full time on crypto try investing your money, buy some altcoins do some trading. I highly recommend that you join bounties you can earn huge profits if you find a successful ICO.

If you are new to cryptocurrencies, it is best not to reinvent the wheel and just buy bitcoin. Now it costs only $ 3,500. In 10 years it will cost much more. Good luck

Starting to invest in coins is quite simple:
a) Carefully consider the choice - look at the listings of exchanges and rating of coins, study interesting projects.
b) Pay attention to the coins from the top and study their dynamics.
c) choose a few based on the capabilities of the price and capitalization option. Good options are ethereum, monero, if possible, of course, Bitcoin.
d) the last piece of advice when considering a coin is better not to take newcomers to the top, take stable coins and keep them for growth, as soon as the market starts to recover, you will get profit.
And now learn the game on the stock exchange, then interest can be shifted to less stable coins and play in short intervals on the course.
